A large contingent of NFL hopefuls were at Winter Park last weekend trying to flash in front of Vikings coaches and scouts, hopeful of grabbing a roster spot for the remainder of the offseason program and perhaps into training camp later this summer.
And 2 of the players who were at the rookie minicamp accomplished the task.
The Vikings signed former Iowa State WR Marquis Hamilton and former Southwest Minnesota State OT Bill Noethlich.
Hamilton is a 6-3, 222-pound receiver from Edmond, OK and Noethlich stands at 6-7 and hails from Doland, SD.
Here’s what Vikings VP of Player Personnel Rick Spielman had to say about each player:
On Hamilton: “Marquis is a big wide receiver with good size who showed a good ability catching the ball. His performance over the weekend warranted a further look as we continue this spring.”
On Noethlich: “Bill had a good tryout through the weekend and stuck out as one of the better linemen in the group. He gave a good accounting of himself and has some physical traits and skills that are promising. He’s got the arm reach and frame to make him a good prospect.”
