The Vikings Entertainment Network crew is packing up this morning and heading to the airport for a noon flight back to Minneapolis. But the Combine rolls on in Indianapolis. Only two days remain of Combine action, and Monday’s action includes on-field work for the defensive linemen and linebackers.

Here’s a quick breakdown of Monday’s schedule…

Nothing to say, Jones? Now that would be a Foist!

Titus, I believe Te’o is suppose to do his thing, sometime today.

My favorite people on the football field have always been offensive linemen and defensive backs. I say this because it takes special people to perform well in jobs in which there is little public recognition when they are doing things right but are thrust into the spotlight as soon as they make a mistake.

That is exactly what happens to a lineman whose man sacks the quarterback or a defensive back who lets his receiver catch a touchdown p a s s. They know the importance of being part of a group that believes in teamwork and does not point fingers at one another.

Jay Cutler commenting on his offensive line this season (2012). This might be why you DO NOT throw your O Line under the bus!!!

“Brow-beating his blockers is nothing new to C utler, who took the chance before the opener to pound them into the ground, to make sure they knew he was good and they weren’t.

“We can only do as much as they can handle,’’ C utler said of his line. “If they can only block three-step drops, we can only throw three-step p@sses. We’re limited to what they can do and as of now, they’ve been holding up really well.”

Of course it could have been THE WRITER who does not understand football, and instead thinks IT’S ALL ABOUT THE QUARTERBACK.

I bet we take T’eo if he is available– he seems like he is a perfect fit for “Vikings football.”

  8. By Brad S on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

I hope we don’t draft Te’o, his fit with the Viking, is like John Carlson’s fit with the Vikings.

  9. By BlueBird7 on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

    That’s more like it, Fred.

Teo slow at 4.8. Wait til the 4th for Bostic if Ogletree isn’t there in the 1st.

I guess Te’o’s girlfriend isn’t the only fraud,4.8 40yard! That is why Alabama ran all over him.

Another LB is Arthur Brown out of Kansas State. I`m a Wildcats fan so I saw him a lot. Real good. He`s only 6`1 and 230 though. Plays the middle and can drop back. Vikings usually take bigger LB`s, but this guy can play middle. Projected as 4th best MLB. Probable 2nd round.

In previous blog someone was talking about Colin Klein, QB, also from K-state- I would stay away. He`ll probably go in the 7th.

    I hope we get T’eo.

K Titus I’ll bite, what do you like about Teo? Let’s see if you can give a non-insulting response.

  16. By Champ Henson on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Good luck on that one Parkway.

  17. By Parkway on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

I think there will be better players at our spot than Teo, but if we did pick him for some reason you would think that Spielman got a good idea of what kind of guy he really is from Smith, Blanton, and Rudolph.

Cullen Jenkins just got released by the Eagles. is he used goods or is he still a decent player. if so i’ll take a chance on him at DT. he’s better than what we have (besides Kevin Williams)…

  19. By Parkway on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

    He’s 32 pass

  20. By WRHopkins2013 on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Te’o looks like a middle of the second round LB to me ???….4.8 forty time !!..
That is not worthy of a first round pick…There has never been a LB taken in the first round…That has ran a 4.8 forty in draft history…Lets hope the Vikings are not the first to do so…
I sure as heck would not use the 23rd pick in the draft on Te’o…

I saw some sleeper picks at DT and DE….But especially at the LB position…
Vikings can wait until around round 3-4 to get some solid help at LB…

  24. By PurplHaze on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Told ya! Listen to your IN Vikes Fan! Te’o is NOT worthy of a purple jersey! NO WAY should we draft that guy!

On the other hand, I’d be perfectly content with Ogletree! :-)

  25. By Champ Henson on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

If Ogletree is getting dui’s now, what trouble would he get into with all that money in the bank he’ll get from the draft?…..PASS!

  26. By Carl K on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Parkway- Mallett completed less than 50% of his “preseason” attempted with a QB rate of 70.5 for the Patriots last year.

Patriots only have 2 QBs on the roster… They will want a 3rd round pick for him.

    No thank you!
i would rather have Tyler Bray or Landry Jones in rounds 3-5

  27. By Shawn on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Vontaze Burfict ran a 5+ x40 last combine and is starting for the Bengals …

  28. By Champ Henson on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Tyler Bray or Jones?……That would be great!

  29. By Champ Henson on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

It would be great if we had a number two QB who could come in take over the number one job at QB and not look back for 10 years.

  30. By Champ Henson on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

I’m all for drafting a qb at some point…..please….no more has-beens and cast-offs to fill in.

  31. By WRHopkins2013 on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

    J Jones…Has a neck condition…

Ogletree….Gets a DUI a week before the biggest day of his future career interviews…

    Te’o…Runs a 4.82…And has problems with Internet women..Or whatever ???…

I am not sure if a pure LB will even go in the first round ???…
Especially the way some other LB’s helped their draft stock with good showings at the combine…

  32. By Carl K on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Parkway- only way Mallet comes to Minnesota would be in a Percy Harvin trade. Brady agrees to lower than market value over the 3 new years of his contract… Could it be to make room for Percy Harvin?

A first round pick and Ryan Mallet for Percy? Could it be in the works?

  33. By dru on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

All vikings fans out there don’t give up on Te’o yet… He had one bad day he be ready for camp

  34. By Parkway on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Ha it would not take Harvin for Mallet. That is a joke.

  35. By Parkway on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Didn’t read the first round part, that would be more reasonable

  36. By Carl K on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Wes Welker and Tom Brady are best friends… so I don’t think Tom Brady is doing this for Harvin… unless Bill Belichick can make something work with Wes Welker and Harvin on the field at the same time??

  37. By Champ Henson on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

But…but…if we get Mallet what happens with Ponder?

  38. By Champ Henson on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Te’o in the first round? I’m not so sure.

  39. By Champ Henson on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Anyone with dui’s, drug arrests, or injury problems should not be drafted before the fourth round in my opinion.

  40. By PurplHaze on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Ogletree is a young man and was out celebrating! And we know the blood flow between the shoulders is a little lower for guys in their 20s, right? Or did all you guys just bypass that age?

Ogletree got a DUI, and I bet he’s not happy it happened, BUT IT HAPPENED! Your attitudes over a young man’s mistakes is a bit self-righteous, don’t you think?

Do you think J. Allen would say he’s not worth considering?

    ********
Then we should have NEVER drafted Percy!!!

  42. By Carl K on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

I think the best plan is to resign Harvin…
Draft a tall WR that can work the sidelines and get deep…
    Answer: Justin Hunter

Draft a big armed QB like Tyler Bray or Landry Jones in round 3 or 4 that could compete with Webb for the #2 job this year, but could push Ponder in the future.

is it worth paying a guy millions as he sits out games because of suspensions?

  44. By Champ Henson on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

we did draft Percy and look at all the drama.

  45. By PurplHaze on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

We drafted Percy in the 2nd round because he has obvious talent! More talent than any of the WRs you guys say we should draft THIS YEAR in the second round, Sorry, but that’s FACT!

  46. By PurplHaze on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Percy’s not making ANY of the off-season drama this year. The media is to blame for all the rumors and speculation, not Percy!

  47. By PurplHaze on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

And, I’d risk to say that Percy has more talent than any of the first round draft choices at the WR position this year!

  48. By PurplHaze on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

    …YES, EVEN TAVON AUSTIN!

  49. By Carl K on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Look at all the Harvin highlights! I can live with the drama if Frazier can.

I have seen the side line blow up with Harvin and Frazier.

It wasn’t as big of a deal as everyone makes it…. Harvin wasn’t in Frazier’s face… And Frazier’s feathers weren’t even ruffled.

  50. By Champ Henson on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

I love Percy Harvin and have nothing against him. I’m just saying it makes more sense to draft quality players with clean records and a smart head on their shoulders before drafting the type of guys that go out and get arrested 2 days before the combine…..thats all I have to say about it.

  51. By Carl K on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

Purpl- Harvin was a first round pick. Many scouts had him as a top 10 talent.

  52. By john61 on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

i think the niners are going to pay big for harvin

  53. By Brad S on Feb 25, 2013 | Reply

The Vikings took many chances over the years, Chris Carter, Jared Allen, Randy Moss, Percy Harvin, and didn’t Jerome Felton get a dui last year. The Viking must have a good program to help the players, because none of them ever got suspensed while playing here and they all turned out to be all pro players. Ogletree is a top ten talent and the Vikings would be foolish to pass on him with their pick at 23.
