Greenway: “We Have To Take Advantage Of Our Home Field”

Posted by Mike Wobschall on December 30, 2012 – 1:35 pm

I made note of a quote from Vikings LB Chad Greenway earlier in the week when he appeared on NFL Network, and I haven’t found a spot to put it in the blog. Now is the time, with kickoff only hours away and the frenzied environment that will be Mall of America Field about to unfold.

The Vikings are 7-1 at home this season, and Greenway stressed the importance of the Vikings using their home-field advantage to their advantage against Green Bay this week.

“Obviously we have to take advantage of our home field,” Greenway said. “That’s the biggest thing for us. We know how good Green Bay is. They’re rolling right now. They’ve got things clicking late in the year and this is when you want to be playing your best football. I think for us it’s about going out there, using our home-field advantage. This is where we feel most comfortable…where we play our best ball. We’re looking forward to being in front of our home-field crowd and taking advantage of it.”

Report: Cobb out for Week 17
    Randall Cobb, WR, GB
    1:04 PM

News: Green Bay wide receiver Randall Cobb (ankle, knee) is not expected to play in the season finale at Minnesota, FOXSports.com reports. Cobb is currently listed as questionable on the team’s injury report after practicing on a limited basis last Friday. He did not participate in the other two sessions after suffering injuries to his ankle and knee last Sunday against Tennessee.
Analysis: With the Packers already securing a spot in the playoffs, the Packers will apparently play it safe with Cobb in order to prevent further injury. Cobb leads the team in receptions (80) and yards (954), but fellow wide receiver Jordy Nelson is also expected to return so his possible absence might not be a huge void. The Vikings are permitting an average of 21.7 Fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts this year, but Cobb carries significant injury risk even if he’s able to suit up for Week 17.

Well we aren’t getting any help from other teams to back into the playoffs, so it’s win or go home.

AP will break the record today. I guarantee it. I think AP has a shot at beating his single game record too.

I agree with play action to set up the run. AP just needs to break a couple long ones and he might just get it. 300yds is not out of the question.

That’s what I am thinking — 300. Although you have to think, if we have the game well in hand, that Frazier will want to rest players for the rematch next week.

The amount of dislike and hate that I have for the Packers is absolutely to the max. I hope we dont just beat them. I hope we destroy there moral to the lowest possible amount, lower than a homeless person getting mugged. I hope Rodgers goes down 10 times and it takes him out of the game for a couple weeks. Then I hope we go into Green Bay next week during the wildcard and do it again.
