There are many reasons Adrian Peterson’s 2012 season is beyond remarkable. With two games to play, Peterson already has a career-high 1,812 rushing yards, is on pace to become just the 7th RB in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season, and has his sights set on Eric Dickerson’s single-season record of 2,105 rushing yards. This is all happening less than a year removed from reconstructive knee surgery.
More remarkable than all of those numbers and statistics, though, is the fact that Peterson’s sensational individual effort has contributed to the Vikings turnaround. A 3-13 team a season ago, Peterson and the Vikings have taken a major step forward this season and are 8-6 with just two games remaining.
With Peterson pacing the Vikings to this improvement, the team has launched a social media campaign called “Twenty-Eight For 28” to help spur discussion and advance the argument that he is the NFL’s 2012 MVP. The campaign, which began today and will run through the rest of the regular season, and will include 28 reasons the organization believes Peterson should be named the NFL’s MVP.
Some of the reasons will be highlight clips, some will be images, some will be opinions from analysts and other NFL personalities. Each of the reasons will be good, and when all is said and done, the creative, fun campaign for fans will provide a complete argument that promotes Peterson as the MVP.
The campaign can only be viewed on your computer and not through mobile phones. Check out the campaign and Reason #28 by clicking here.
