As a Lifetime Viking Fan, since chiefs/vikes S.B. This is what I remember... following a team that was talented, and exciting to watch, with a seemingly close but not close enough Hex. It is the most painful, but lifetime addiction to be a viking Fan. To know it's about to colapse, but hoping it does not?? 4 S.B losses, Dallas hail mary championship loss, chanpionship loss in 78 without Tark, Nelsons drop at the one championship loss to Washington in 87, The snake bit hex of 98 chanpionsip loss, Blowout championship loss to the Giants in 2000's, Cardinals last second snake bit elimination of the playoffs, and the ultimate"it can't happen again, not this time...oh my god it did....championship key stone cop blunder loss of the century in 2010. To be a Vikling fan is like the Gift, that just keeps on not giving... but there is no cure, and the IV drip that is "hope" is attached to my arm for life. Oh and by the way, it is ponders fault.

I am sick of all this "fans" bashing Ponder. Remember when we traded Fran Tarkenton away, because he wasn't good enough? Or what about Tony Kramer? Did he play well all the time? ...

Search another team... I can live without you so called fans...

autobon7, be prepared for the backlash... your commentary is not rare, but it is not held by most here - Parkway and I and Ponderaka are perhaps the most common and direct in this opinion.

The odd part is, we make remarks about the football player and Ponder fans blast us personally. Never could understand that. But join the club, cuz it will come.

You are also RIGHT. Ponder lacks pocket awareness, he does not move within pocket well, he abandons the pocket to quickly, and almost exclusively over the top and to the RIGHT..... this makes him EASY to gameplan to in your pass rush techniques..... AND Ponder "picks his receiver" standing over center causing him dilemmas (and most of his interceptions) because most of his chosen receivers get closed on due to "telegraphing" by Ponder.

Case in point, he had Wright in back corner for TD, but Ponder "was looking for Rudolph" while Rudolph was getting his jock knocked to the dirt by Briggs.... then Ponder notices Wright TOO Late (lot of that with him) and high and soft throw caused safety to close and Wright alligatored the ball... incomplete instead of TD.

And that is how it happens and too often. We will see a change, but not until 2014 is my guess. The Org will make the mistake and not pursue a real starter in draft is my guess. They will push this project forward come helk or high-water.

parkway makes a great point....who won a SB with a game manager? Ponder is no better and will never be better than Smith. Look at all the weapons that Smith has/had in SF and he couldn't put up numbers. What do you think he can do in Miny with less? Maybe he and Ponder can share the blame.
