Vikings Arrive At Soldier Field

Posted by Mike Wobschall on November 25, 2012 – 9:44 am

The Vikings have arrived at Soldier Field and kickoff to today’s Vikings-Bears showdown is approaching. It’s sunny, windy and cold this morning in Chicago, perfect football weather and perfect conditions for an old-school Black and Blue Division battle.

As you’ve surely heard by now, Vikings WR Percy Harvin will not play and the Bears will have Jay Cutler back in the starting lineup after he missed last week’s loss in San Francisco because of a concussion he suffered against the Houston Texans a couple weeks ago. There are other changes and potential changes to both teams’ lineups, and we’ll have all of those finalized about 90 minutes prior to kickoff when both teams are required to submit their list of inactive players and starting lineup changes.

For the game, join us on vikings.com for the Live Chat. We’ll begin the chat about 5 minutes prior to kickoff, and you’ll be able to find it by clicking here. When possible, we try to conduct the chat from the Vikings Radio Network broadcast booth, but the setup here at Soldier Field does not permit us to do that. So we’ll be conducting the chat from the press box with the view illustrated in the photo at the top of this blog entry.

We always have fun during the chat, and we encourage you to join us. As always, the Vikings Radio Network will broadcast today’s game, with Paul Allen (play-by-play), Pete Bercich (analyst) and Greg Coleman (sideline reporter) calling the action. The pre-game show begins at 10:00 a.m. CT, and I’ll join host Mike Mussman to talk Vikings-Bears at about 11:20 a.m. CT.

That’s it for now, but stay tuned to vikings.com and the vikings.com Blog for pre-game updates and of course in-game action and post-game reaction. You can follow the Vikings (@VikingsFootball) and yours truly (@wobby) on Twitter for more updates as well.

Mike Tice has made some changes in his OL.

Benched Tackle Carimi. Replaced him with Scott.

At Guard will be Chris Spencer. (Relative of yours, Spencer?)

    This is it…

It is time to see if the Vikings are ready to take that next step ???…Can they relax and play well in a HUGE game…

Vikings are away in a hostile environment, playing on grass, and playing in a HUGE divisional match up !!!…

These are the kind of games “champions” find ways to win !!!…And the Vikings have had little success in past history, in these type of match ups…. : (

Its time for the Vikings to “evolve” to the next level…Beat these Bears !!!…You have the talent…

Its gut check time !!!…Be aggressive on offense and defense with your play calling !!!…

GO AFTER THESE BEARS !!!…Quiet that hometown crowd by sacking Cutler 8 times !!!…And throwing a few long TD pa sses…

    GO VIKINGS !!!…

The Vikings have made strides from last years 3-13 disaster …now they are 5-1 vs teams below 500 this year and 1-3 vs winning teams…they have shown they can beat the middle of the road and below teams which is a good sign as this is a step teams have to take to get to the next level…While i dont think ythe Vikings are ready to compete regularly with the elite teams in the nfl this year todays game is important as coming off a bye and playing a team that played monday in the west coast …this game will give an indication of where the Vikings are today and what they have to do for next year…

Jared Allan said a few days ago that this isn’t a must-win game but I beg to differ. If Ponder holds up and the D doesn’t play with a cushion underneath, the Vikings should win.

Vikings will whip the Bears like that tried to steal the football today….and still not get the respect from the “experts.” JUST THE FUEL WE NEED…..we didn’t start losing until they started praising….STAY HUNGRY VIKES.

    RG3 is a very good young QB…Talent galore…

But Shanahan will destroy this young man from ever reaching his full potential…This option stuff running RG3 is taking years off this young mans career already !!!…

And Shanahan could care less…As long as he wins…

If I was owner of the Skins right now…Shanahan would have already been fired this season…The way he and his kid have been using RG3…

Cocussions will have RG3 out of the league in less than 5 years time…If Shanahan keeps coaching him…

Good luck today, Vikings! No one thought you could beat the 49ers, but you did. Let’s get the Bears!

OMG!! The Vik’s are looking like they are playing Powderpuff football…Where is the drive and desire to win a game at??? Why no passing??? Change QB’s!! Change is good….why doesnt the Coach know this??????

  21. By sliver on Nov 25, 2012 | Reply

This a terrible, terrible, terrible display of football…powederpuffs at their best for the Vikings…compared to the Bears…not EVEN in the same league! Once again, proven they can’t complete with any decent teams….it’s a ______ embarrassment….coaching, quarterback, ol, dl,db!!!!!

Vikings coaches are the wporst in the league. What a pitiful display by the offense and defense. All the coaches should be replaced and start new. What a joke.

What is it with this team? I had to stop watching the game. I’ve been a fan my whole life and I’m getting tired of a team that shows no true desire to win. I served in the Marine Corps and we always gave it our best every minute we could overseas!!! We stunk up the field today, poor tackling can’t even get firstdowns. I’m so sick with investing so much in a team that always fails. We have some of the best players in the league but still fail. What of a waste of a sunday, should stuck to cleaning up the leaves!! At least I can control that. We get no respect because we don’t deserve it

Sliver u got it right!!! Took the words right out of my mouth

Rich, I agree with your remarks also…I am not a faint hearted fan either…go back to ’61 with these Vikes, and today, feel like you…what a waste of a snowy afternoon here in SD…only wish the snow would stick so I could go shovel. Thanks for you your service!…am a Vietnam era Army vet, non-combat, but we still gave it our best also…Vikes have the talent, no real direction…and that comes from the coaching…

Sliver thank u sir 4 ur service!! My father also served in nam, 3 purple hearts for our nation and the marine corps! I remember growing up in the military we moved every 2 years. I chose the Vikings, Chuck Foreman Ahmad Rasshad and all the great memories Bud Grant gave us! I don’t mind losing sir but what i hate is lack of effort poor planning and no passion to suceed! I’m 41 yrs old and this team has broken my heart year after year. This game was very important to win and look at what we got!!!! As a fan i shouldn’t let it get me so much but it does, it’s just a game but i cannot stand unsatisfactory performance. God bless from Steeler country i’m in PA prayin for snow

  27. By Fonder on Nov 25, 2012 | Reply

Again, the vikings get their ass kicked. Fonder is a ponder as a qb. A wasted number 1 pick.

Fonder ur right, why not make a change and put in Webb? Lame coaches I got to watch Webb beat the Eagles at the snow game years ago cuz i”m in PA. This team is such a sorry representation to professional sports!!!!! I feel bad for AP and Jared because thier careers here will never go anywhere
