Play calls need addressing. Every drive needs 1st downs. Cannot count how many drives we run twice, few yards shy then pass. Punt. Even to just eat time when needed, field position. Cannot afford punts to the opponents 40.
Are the coaches seeing the same game? I don't see the urgency until late in the game. Even if we have a early lead it looks like we get conservative. We have the talent, just got to get more involved.

OldNole- Good point but don't forget how different the game is in college vs. NFL. Why don't we take a better. more recent showing from Ponder to evaluate his skills. We were projected to lose against Detroit. Almost everyone on here was bashing Ponder and basically saying there is no hope for us in this game. Ponder came out and spread the ball around WITHOUT Percy Harvin. Detroit's secondary isn't that good on paper, but against your division, your gonna play well or at least attempt to. We have shown Harvin we can win games without him so its time to win games with him. Lets use him properly and please for the love of god take him out of the backfield Musgrave. I really don't care if he gets us 15 yards per carry, its too dangerous and we have players that fill that role already. The plays you want Harvin to do, give it to Gerhart. I saw it mentioned earlier on this thread and its true. Gerhart is a great RB and we should use him more often. NFL analysts might underestimate us(not to mention a hard-awn for GB) but I don't think any team we face is going to be thinking like that. If SF can beat Chi like that, we can win. Cutler may be back in the game but that offensive line makes ours look like a bunch of pro bowlers. Our pass rush should be the game decider honestly. We can get in the endzone against that bears defense if we spread the ball, and run effectively. Lets demoralize them at their own stadium!!! SKOL!!!!!

I saw every game Ponder played at FSU and he spread the ball around nicely. Played very well under presssure too so I have wondered what has caused his play to become erratic at times. The constant razzing by some so called fans, especially those 2 cheeseheads in Vikes clothing, may be a factor. I had also considered Harvin's influence. Harvin has skills our team needs so we need to be forgiving of his bad benavior, After all he's still a Gator at heart.

Kinda funny to me. Not ONE of them even mentioned the vikings for the final NFC playoff spot. They listed the cowboys(5-5) over us for a wild card spot. lol kinda funny when you think about how ppl forget us

"QUIT WHINING! YOU PLAY EVERY TIME TO WIN! WINNERS NEVER QUIT"

Many plays are designed to deceive the opponent. Some plays are designed not to better our position, but to prevent losing the ball (victory formation or dumping out of bounds). Other plays are wasted so that we can plan a better play (grounding the ball to stop the clock). Lastly, some plays are intentionally detrimental to us in order to create a better situation (letting the play clock expire and intentionally taking a penalty and backing up 5 yards). Some teams keep their best players out of the game to prevent injury so they can play at a later date (when it REALLY matters). Regardless, the ultimate goal is to be league champions.

It's called "strategy." Something we should have employed LAST year. This year, we're not in a position yet to pull the starters and get the kids some NFL experience, with the expectation that we probably lose the game in order to better our position and win MORE games. However, if we lose the next 3 games, I would not fault the team for doing it.
