Peterson Named FedEx Ground NFL Player Of The Week Finalist
Posted by on November 6, 2012 – 8:50 amAdrian Peterson came into Week 9 of the season as the NFL’s rushing leader, and he added to his lead with a 182-yard performance against the Seattle Seahawks. His season-high rushing total along with 2 TDs on 17 carries was impressive enough for Peterson to be named a finalist for FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week honors.
Two other RBs with impressive performances were also named finalists. Tampa Bay’s Doug Martin had another sensational outing, throttling the Oakland Raiders for 251 rushing yards and 4 TDs on 25 carries, while Pittsburgh’s Isaac Redman had 147 yards and 1 TD on 26 carries.
Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com/FedEx from 8:00 a.m. CT on Tuesday through 2 p.m. CT on Friday to determine the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week. The winner will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.
Fans will be voting for more than their favorite player. As part of the Air & Ground program and its commitment to small business owners, FedEx will support education efforts at Junior Achievement by making weekly $2,000 donations in each of the winning players’ names. The funding, allocated to local Junior Achievement area offices in that team’s city or state, is used to help U.S. small business development, by educating the next generation of entrepreneurs on how to start and grow their own businesses.

Good…….! Peterson deserves the recognition! He is the best RB in the league and I feel blessed to have him on my team. He is not a player I would want to play against once..or twice a year for that matter.
Keep up the beast mode AP we need you this year buddy!

Too bad we don’t have a QB that can lead us to more victories.
Wake up Frazier!!! Its getting late in the season.

I have to believe the problem is Musgrave … Percy Harvin has made several comments letting us know without coming right out and saying it is Musgrave
_______________________________________________________________
There also are more and more questions about offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave’s game plans and how predictable they might be.
“I’ll let you all be the judge of that,” Harvin said when asked about whether the selection of plays had become too easy for defenses to sn’iff out. “I’m just trying to go out there and just play at a high level and do what these coaches ask. I really don’t get into the sch’eme things.”
_______________________________________________________________
“I just do what these coaches ask” … hmm, interesting selection of words. Musgrave
“I dont get into the sch’eme” …hmmm, Musgrave is the offensive sch’emer as far as I know.

With Ponder and the OL pass protection struggling, the D has to step it up. Period. It’s easy to criticize Ponder and he should take some of the blame, but JA and the rest of the D are playing like Favre is back there at QB. They can’t be giving up 30-35 pts a game and just expect Ponder to outscore the other team – THAT JUST AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN. I think it’s safe to say that we don’t exactly have a quick strike offense to make up for lousy defensive efforts. And even when AP has a good day, if the D doesn’t get the ball back enough for him to get 25 carries, we lose. So it’s on Frazier, Singletary and the defense to show why they are getting paid. Give Ponder, AP and Percy a short field enough times and we CAN win. GO VIKES!

AP deserves more than a week’s recognition. I’d like to see ANY OTHER PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE bounce back from a blown out knee like he has … SKOL!!!

Looks like Marvin McNutt and Dale Moss are free agents … as well as Mike Sims Walker. Walker is 6’2 and has had 8 career 90+ yard games

this team needs help and its frustrating watching them do nothing
By Parkway on Nov 6, 2012 | Reply
I can’t believe McNutt isn’t a starter… I thought he was going to be steal. Obviously there must be something about him that isn’t working out… but we could use a big body receiver like him so yeah lets do it. Let him start every game the rest of this year so he is ready to go for our new QB next year

keep in mind we have not played GBx2 or Chicagox2 or Houston yet expect all defensive numbers to get worse
also some teams have only played 8 games this season so rankings might change slightly

I’d be good with this http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1396365-2013-nfl-mock-draft-updated-first-round-picks-after-week-9/page/21
We’ll have a higher pick but I think teo will keep moving up the board anyway.

Im still not convinced Ponder is our SOLE problem in our passing game. A nutless monkey could draw up the plays that muskgrave calls. And besides” no mercy percy”, our recievers are horrid. Frazier needs to grow a back bone and get fired up!!!! but im sure hes somewhere “checking the film” smh

why didn’t Ponder make the Fed Ex air nfl player of the week?
By ponder, aka 3 and out on Nov 6, 2012 | Reply
still need to draft a qb, Ponder cost us another 2 years of rebuilding

I have been a Viking since 1966 and in that time the Vikes have had some truly gifted runners, but none were as good as Adrian Peterson. Chuck Foreman and a few others were better pass catchers, and many were better blockers, but as far as a pure runner, A.P. is best.
