Need I remind everyone that this is still a rebuilding team with very young players at the skill positions on both sides of the ball. Ponder was never mister right but mister right now. When the vikings drafted Ponder they hoped that it would work out and I think they got there answer. The vikings might win 2 more games. 7-9 a vast inprovement from last year and come draft time it should put them drafting in the top 10 to 15 maybe to far down to get the qb they need but should get them players that they could use to coninue building a team for the future. As fans we want to think our team is ready to beat everyone and is better than they really are but this team started out the season as a team on the rise and they will end the season as a team on the rise showing promise of things to come. The vikings are who we thought they were but they are also going to be the team we want them to be. Hang in there viking fans you will get yours lord know you deserve it!!

PLEASE QUIT LAZY FREZZE , DO IT FOR US , FOR THE TEAM HISTORY .... OR DO SOMETHING AT LEST DO THE BIG PLAYS, FIGHT, DIED IN THE FIELD LIKE A VIKING!!!!!

Mike wob you need to stop riding on ponder! Ya need to realize this dude cannot play! He can't even hot open guys! Inserting Webb in will not hurt because if anything, Webb can only be as bad as ponder! Come on 65 passing yards? I think a high school qb can do better! Don't go blaming the oline now, as we all know ponder can change the protection bit yet he don't recognize defense and can't read defense! When will ya man up to it! I mean I would rather see somebody else at the helm other than ponder. I it's bethal so he it! We need to know what we have in the young guys. For example jarius wright...why is he not activated???

Mike B,

The old saw about "rebuilding" is only press carp... when you are bad, ANY change is considered "rebuilding"... how do you explain Cleveland?

Fact is, EVERY season you are indebted to the fan and your boss to play to win NOW. There is not a single professional that plays the game with the intention of waiting for some year in the future. That concept is a fraud - just ask the competitors that compete each game.

We were 5-2 and one of the leading horses in the race - rebuilding? Not on your life, this team wanted to win and played to win. They just can't play very well because their leadership IN THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION ON THE FIELD is lacking horribly.

No, Ponder is not the only bad thing on the field. You missed my numerous remarks about Brinkley and Erin Henderson. However, 2-3 yd throws and his horrible decision-making and his inability to pick up the blitz. Mike, that is as much the QB's responsibility as it is the O-line, Ponder needs to know how to go to hot read - and he doesn't pick it up AT ALL - exactly WHY opponents will keep a single high safety and BLITZ Ponder till he pukes, cause all he knows how to do is run away.... I recommend you listen to Frazier's presser -- "We expect opponents to go with a single high safety and pressure our pass game, bringing the blitz, until we show an ability to... and ability to be successful against that scheme."

That is on Ponder, and NOT a complex part of the game, he simply needs to read the defense and react knowing his position players and where the blitz comes from... all stuff learned in highschool.

Oh, and how do you coach a highschooler's arm into being an NFL arm?

Viking1, SKOL! We are long in tooth and long in experiences with our team! You are more optimistic about Ponder, but I agree, he can improve.... but it will not mean much I am afraid. He lacks so much. He is panick stricken in the pocket even when he has no pressure - he bolts like a kid fresh out of his last day of school.... NOT how that position is played.

But it is what it is, and Ponder will be there again. Frazier will lose his people if he keeps running him out there though - the natives are more than restless - just ask Harvin!

The issue isn't all on Ponder. I would point directly to Mr Loadholt and his performance. it was terrible. They even had to bring a TE in the backfield to provide protection on the right side. The lace of protection is making Ponder nervous in the pocket and throw errant p@sses. He has a very sharp throw when he is confident and we have all seen it. Pulling him will not help the team in the P@ssing game. It will not assure us anymore wins. Webb will not fix our offensive issues.

what good is getting a top reciever if we have no one to get the ball to him. I think once ponder got his girlfriend thats when his production went down. That said I still think webb should get in if we get behind at all next game what do we have to lose. I think this game is ponders last chance and I'm shocked at how low his production has dropped. I feel we have a good corps of recievers and as we saw the first 5 games when they go the ball we won and ap didn't have to do it all. i think musgrave is on his last leg and one more game like the last 2 and it's time for hom to go. I was a supporter of his but the last 2two games soured me on him.

You and I have been around a long time as Vikings fans and I happened to be in KC during the 69 SB and I remenber how the Vikings were heavliy favored because of our Defense, not because of our Offense and I too was very disappointed when they lost, why becausse Hank Schram had a better game plan and Bud Grant was out "COACHED".In my opinion, Ponder can improve but he has to take a long look at the man in the mirror and only he can make that change.

Here you go:
Coaching career[edit] Miami DolphinsAfter retiring as a player, he became the quarterback coach for the Miami Dolphins in 2005–2006.

[edit] Dallas CowboysIn January 2007, Garrett was hired by the Dallas Cowboys as offensive coordinator. His influence made the Cowboys the 2nd best offense in the NFL making him an attractive head coaching prospect. His salary in the 2008 season was nearly $3 million and was the highest salary for an assistant coach in the NFL.[5]

On November 8, 2010, he was named as the Dallas Cowboys' interim head coach following the firing of Wade Phillips after the Cowboys' 1-7 start for the 2010 season. On November 14, 2010, Garrett won his first game as a head coach, beating the favored New York Giants 33-20 in the Meadowlands.[6] The next week, he led the Cowboys to a 35-19 victory over the Detroit Lions, their first home win all season. On January 6, 2011, Garrett was named the official Cowboys head coach; the 8th in Cowboys history.

[edit] Other coaching opportunitiesIn January 2008, Garrett interviewed for the head coaching job of the Baltimore Ravens and the Atlanta Falcons receiving offers from both, but ultimately opted to remain in Dallas.[7][8]

On December 29, 2008 the Detroit Lions received permission to speak to Garrett regarding the teams head coaching vacancy according to ESPN sources.[9] In January 2009, the Denver Broncos also interviewed him as a possible replacement for fired coach Mike Shanahan.[10] He was also a finalist for the St. Louis Rams head coaching position, to replace Jim Haslett, the interim head coach.[11] Ultimately, he lost the job to Steve Spagnuolo.
