Vikings Arrive At Lucas Oil Field For Showdown With Colts

Posted by Mike Wobschall on September 16, 2012 – 9:10 am

It’s game day and kickoff is fast approaching at Lucas Oil Field. The Vikings have arrived at the stadium and members of both the Vikings and Colts have begun trickling on the field to stretch and begin their warm-up routine.

Today is the Colts home opener, so the energy in this building should yield an exciting atmosphere as the Colts look to rebound from a tough start last week in a 20-point loss at Soldier Field to the Chicago Bears. The Vikings, meanwhile, are riding the wave of a Week 1 win – in their home opener – against the Jacksonville Jaguars, another AFC South opponent. In a quirky scheduling situation, the Vikings opened the season against a pair of AFC opponents for the first time since 1988, when they started at Buffalo and at New England en route to an 11-5 season.

Kickoff for today’s game is at 12:00 p.m. CT, so we’ll have the Vikings inactives for you at 10:30 and we’ll keep you apprised of all other developments right here on the Blog and also on Twitter – follow the Vikings (@VikingsFootball) and me (@wobby) for the latest developments.

Any of you “Ponder fans” still want to tell me how good he is…

Rolls out, no pass rush he runs for 2 yds instead of sitting and picking receiver…

he holds the “loaf of bread” with pocket collapsing, and dumps ANOTHER ball on
the turf (Dave Krieg would be proud of this guy)….

He hasn’t completed ONE PASS downfield against THE COLTS….

An impressive 3 and out missing Harvin (aka – the broad side of the barn) when he was wide open….

The only good thing is, we can still run the ball for 300 yds and forget we have a QB -

Jimmy says that the Colts did a “good job” holding the Vikes to only 6 pts…

No, Colts can thank Ponder for Vikes only scoring 6 pts.

Charles Johnson is a waste of space, but Ponder has no excuse for that first half. It is on HIM. He sets Colts up on short field, and then burns his own team again by the failed 3 and out, giving Luck the ball with 1:30 or so, and Kluwe and our D finished that sorry half of football.

Not sure how much different this team is from last. It looks like we have Bernard Berrian all over again…. this is the Colts for crying out lout!

Nice… defense giving Colts a drive via personal fouls….. nice discipline… Allen is getting used by an average left tackle so he takes the frustration out on Luck… 15 yds.

Not a good football team. Doubt is dialing way up!
