Busy Football Night For Frazier, Kubiak Families

Posted by Mike Wobschall on August 30, 2012 – 6:02 am

On Thursday night at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, Vikings Head Coach Leslie Frazier will lead his team in an exhibition game against Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiak. But that won’t be the only football field in Houston where a Frazier and a Kubiak will come together.

About three miles down the road from Reliant Stadium, the Rice University Owls will open their regular season by hosting the UCLA Bruins. Both Frazier and Kubiak have sons who play for Rice – Corey Frazier plays DB and Klein Kubiak plays WR. Suffice it to say, the Frazier and Kubiak families will be busy and they’ll be split on Thursday night.

Earlier in the week, Frazier was asked if he’d spoken with Kubiak about getting updates from the Rice-UCLA stadium during the Vikings-Texans game.

“We’ll both be trying to get information along the way,” Frazier said. “That’s weird that they’re playing at the same time we’re playing right across 10, 15 minutes from where we are, so we’ll both have our minds split a little bit, I guarantee.”

Leslie Frazier played CB for the Chicago Bears from 1981-85, where he was a member of  one of the best defenses of all-time – the 1985 Bears defense that led the franchise to a Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots. Corey Frazier is listed as a 6-1, 210-pound safety and is entering his senior season at Rice. Gary Kubiak was a QB for 9 seasons with the Denver Broncos, where he backed up Hall of Famer John Elway. Klein Kubiak, listed at 6-1, 195 pounds, is a WR entering his junior season.

The Vikings and Texans are slated to kickoff at 6:00 p.m. CT, while the Rice-UCLA matchup is set for a 6:30 p.m. start.

No, the Vikings plan on playing Friday night. Much better chance of winning that way.

Coach Frazier please do not be distracted by your son’s game, let the other coaches son’s game be a distraction for him, please show us that you can manage a game, show us that you have the ability to make changes during a game and not after the game is lost, looking at film to see what went wrong. Show us you can manage in the present not in the past.

Parody,LOL, that way they will know what to expect and make the changes they need to make to win the game. LOL. What an ideal, play a game a day after to see what the other team is going to do, then making changes so you can change what happened to a better outcome, Hmm.

It is Oz. That’s why the Vikings stand such a good chance of winning when they play if they wait until Friday.

Would that be total recall of a NFL game? That is an ideal, let’s do a total recall of the game that New Orleans Saints won and change the outcome of that one. LOL

Play a game to see what will happen, then come back the next day and replay the very same game to change the outcome, once more hmm. What an ideal. LOL

I know it’s only a pre-season game-but Frazier admitting to trying to get updates from his son’s game while he is coaching an NFL game worries me.

Yeah, one of the best defenses of all time? don’t we have two players from that team? when are they going to apply what they know to this here Viking team??? they should fire for that, if I was working at work and stopped to get a update on something I would have to do some explaining! I hope they didn’ t pack there Viqeen jerseys.
