Pads Will Pop On Monday At Vikings Training Camp
Posted by on July 30, 2012 – 6:08 amThere’s been a walk-before-you-run type of feeling around 2012 Verizon Vikings Training Camp so far, with a pair of morning walk-thrus and afternoon practices on Friday and Saturday before a day off on Sunday. Head Coach Leslie Frazier’s team has worked well over the two days, as the offense has looked sharp under second-year Offensive Coordinator Bill Musgrave and the defense has begun its transition to new Defensive Coordinator Alan Williams’ plan.
But the pace will quicken and the intensity will spike significantly on Monday. Yes, the pads will pop and training camp as we’ve become accustomed to will emerge.
The Vikings will hold their first padded practice of this year’s camp on Monday at 2:45 p.m., following their customary morning walk-thru at 10:30. Everyone’s questions about how rookie LT Matt Kalil looks against DE Jared Allen or how Everson Griffen looks playing in his new position will begin to be answered. There’s nothing like the crunching of pads and popping of helmets to get football fans excited for what’s shaping up to be another fun season.
Monday marks the 2012 opening of the Northland Ford Dealer’s Autograph Zone, where you can meet and greet Vikings players each day. Beginning today and going through August 14, one position group will be in the autograph zone each day after the morning walk-thru, with gates opening 25 minutes prior to the conclusion of the walk-thru and autographs beginning immediately after practice for another 25 minutes. Today’s featured group is the TEs, including one of the most impressive performers so far during camp – Kyle Rudolph.
If you haven’t yet done so, head down or up or over to Minnesota State University, Mankato to get a good, early look at the 2012 Minnesota Vikings.

Looking forward to seeing how the players added via the draft/FA impact position battles. I know when I get over there on Saturday, I’ll be watching the back end of the defense for both WR and DB play!
Oh yea, and FIRST!

I know there are several bloggers who really don’t care that much for preseason games,, but look at them as just extensions of the Training Camp Sessions..
I will be fun to watch all the new players show off, and try to keep their spots on team.

Nobody will be broadcasting the Viking Preseason games? Who dreamed that up?
Is this just the TV, or does it include radio as well? What a way to start the season.

Bluebird that is nfl network, espn, etc national games
All Viking preseason games televised in the local Minn market only
Only option outside the market is the nfl.com 4 game pre-season package 19.99

I enjoy watching the preseason games. One of our local TV stations in SDak usually picks up the local TV station in Minneapolic, so we will be able to see the games.

This Vikings Team will be fun to watch in preseason, watching all the new players showing off their talents and trying not to be cut from the team. GO VIKINGS!

You can subscribe to Pre-Season Live at NFL.COM for $20. That’s what i’ll probably do. You can watch the games live or go back and watch them later because they archive all the games. Only thing that sux is that the service is only good til Sept 15th.

@Bluebird7,
It’s true that many Viking fans don’t get in to watching pre-season games. Many of us are, however, too excitable about them. Just because we lose a pre-season game, that does not mean it’s the end of the world.
We need to try to be a little bit more patient. The same is true of the first few regular season games.
8-8 would be a decent season for these Vikings. I hope they do better, but to expect that is suicidal.

you can see all pre-season games on NFL network, not live, but you can see them.

Fred, Someone, I think it was Mr. “T” suggested 14/2. Will he be ready to jump off a ciff? I believe 10/6..We will all find out at the end of the year and it should be really grear watching and cheering the Vikings on, and hopefully they can do even better.
