George Paton Promoted To Assistant General Manager
Posted by on February 11, 2012 – 1:05 pmThe Vikings have announced that George Paton has been promoted to Assistant General Manager of the Club.
Over the past couple of weeks, the St. Louis Rams had courted Paton to serve as the Rams new General Manager. Paton decided late Friday that he wanted to remain with the Vikings organization.
The promotion of Paton follows the recent promotion of Rick Spielman to his new role as General Manager, and both moves add stability to the Vikings front office as the team approaches an important offseason.
“George has been an integral part of our personnel department since he arrived in 2007,” Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman said on Saturday. “His work ethic, leadership , professionalism and keen eye for identifying talented football players will continue to be a major asset for our organization as we take on the challenges of competing in the NFC North and winning the Super Bowl.”

Mike R we need to find somebody like Burfict to fire up the vikes defense. i think the vikes would have Winston Guy on the radar in the later rounds. Sean Richardson i can check with my sec guy, vandy had to play some tuff teams the last few years, interesting
By Mike R. on Feb 11, 2012 | Reply
If Burfict used his energy to play smart and when to control his emotions and not take stupid penalties, he would be more of a beast LB.
As far as Richardson, Vandy played Alabama pretty tough in the first half. They got shut out 34-0 but had two missed FG in 1st half that seemed to let the air out their game.

LOL … article on Vontaze Burfict
“Deep into the fourth quarter on a steamy night in Athens, Ga., the score was tied. The player Georgia coach Mark Richt would later say “should be playing in the (NFL) right now” saw from his middle linebacker spot that the defensive front was lined up incorrectly. So he did the unthinkable.
As the umpire walked away after marking the ball ready for play, Burfict pushed the official into the Georgia line of scrimmage to stop the play and allow the defense to reset.

Patton stopped and the crowd waited. He continued more quietly, “All of the real heroes are not storybook combat fighters, either. Every single man in this Army plays a vital role. Don’t ever let up. Don’t ever think that your job is unimportant. Every man has a job to do and he must do it. Every man is a vital link in the great chain.

I wounder how easy it was for AlQuada to recruit young impressionable Muslim kids whos families were killed by America?
Hmm I wonder if Canada not having bases in 1/2 the countries like conquering warmongers has anything to do with the anger others have for us.
Nah it must be they just dont unsterstand that our way is the only way they must just not appreciate the kindness of our guns and the love in our bombs.

The issue is what do we do about it when we find out and how do we make it better. If all we do is complain about the lie we have done nothing but fester a bad situation. Democrats and Liberals are not warmongers– let’s keep the labels on the right cans folks– call the Republicans WARMONGERS– those evil killers.
Here are a few facts– prove otherwise:
War of 1848- 2 year war with Mexico– entered into under a Democratic President
SOME OF THE BIGGEST WARS USA IN– EVER:
World War One– Woodrow Wilson ran on the promise we would not enter the Great War– well, he did enter us with a huge PR campaign– look it up– very crafty and clever with hundreds if not thousands doing PR– oops, he was a Democrat
World War Two– Oops, FDR– a democrat – some believe he entered the war to create jobs to end the great depression and there is a lot more of interest — possible foreknowledge of the attacks at Pearl Harbor, and other not so endearing affiliations which we will let be at the moment.
Korean War, wait a minute, yep, a Democrat, Truman– war ended under the next president, Eisenhower– yep, a Republican.
Vietnam War, – after a slow progressive build-up of military advisers, JFK increased the number until it was full blown war under LBJ- both Democrats, a Republican ran on the promise of getting us out– he did. While a Republican president was sitting when our first advisers went in, it was microscopic- hundred of advisers– under Kennedy the number went well over 10,000 and then it took off.

We went into Iraq with the approval of congress and a coalition of 90 some countries. We removed Saddam Hussien from power over his viloations of UN resolutions and his treatment of his own people. How do we know that WMDs were not taken to Syria while we came from the South. Turkey wouldn’t let us cut off the route to Syria. There has been no proof of lying about WMD.

Shawn – it would be difficult for Canada to be attacked by any other country, since we have a common border with only the US. However, that has not stopped us from being militaristic – both world wars, Korea, Afghanistan, etc. I share your disdain for most politicians – they seem to be more interested in getting re-elected than doing what is best for the country. We both live in countries that have the worst form of government – democracies! When I was younger, I thought that the best form of government was a benevolent dictatorship. I now believe that that only leads inevitably to authoritarian regimes. Nothing else works as well as a democracy, in terms of respecting individual rights – but I am sure you already believe that.

From Sept 9, 2001 through today, not one terrorist plot has occurred on American soil, despite all of Bush’s “mistakes.” We must be very confident and naive to believe there were not dozens if not hundreds of plots to revisit 9-11 on our shores. How do you fight an enemy you do not see? This is not conventional war on a battleground. No, this is not the war of our forefathers where armies stand face to face. No, “mistakes” were made. You must “see” your enemy before he attacks in today’s world. Yes. Few realize how close 9-11 came to destroying this country– another one may not be survivable.
Obama, while promising to reverse many of Bush’s mistakes, has not thoroughly done so. By the way, Shawn, so great is the killing of Osama? Had Bush done it, you would have spun it like this– we had no right to invade a sovereign nation, not notify their authorities, and kill a man without trial. HA! That is Truth!

FREEDOM, BABY! If you are tired of freedom of speach ,then either don’t read/listen, or go to a place where it is restricted…..and quit whinig!
Great stuff … people dont realize that we are losing … and soon it wont be allowed to say things like I say. Soon someone a little more extreme than DRS will say Im a terroist and I’ll be locked up indefinitely because free speech is losing everyday

3-year old? Naw. It might pass a message…but I doubt it will accomplish anything. Instead, let’s all vote for Steven Colbert as a write in! He’s been pushing his political agenda for at least a year now, and has actually gotten some strong support in the Republican Primaries of some states. I say we give the whole 2-party agenda a big up-yours, and vote in someone who can make us laugh while he makes us right!

I cannot believe I got snared into the Grammys– in my whole life I have watched them probably a few seconds longer than the time I watched the Pro-Bowl. HELP– I need to get to the remote and turn that thing off. Mostly, I wanted to see the tribute to Whitney Houston.

But the positives are better than the negatives. we scored “31″ -AP couldnt be stopped, are o-line was the best of the season, and the corners held their own. excluding chris cook, i had soooo much hope in him and after 2 catches, it was all out the window.

Thats probly the only time I questioned the greatness of Chris Cook haha.

And on this blog, we have Shawn, yes Shawn, DEFENDING CHRIS COOK!

Funny post about McNabb Shawn– then again, we now know the O Line is to blame– no one does too well behind our line. Maybe McNabb got a bad deal.

Shawn, why didnt you ever tell me you believed in Cook?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
By Parody on Feb 12, 2012 | Reply
Spence – Do you really need more ammunition? You guys bicker about it enough without Shawn having to try to explain why he has changed his mind.
Opinions are not static. They can be changed. I used to believe in Cook too. But now that he’s choked himself out of the picture, reality needs to settle in.

@Shawn – Here’s some news for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5q_3sfJPKg
Moss is planning to unretire. That has to have you giddy! Start the rally, and see if you can get your boy back one last time.
By Parody on Feb 13, 2012 | Reply
Apparantly TO wants to come back too. Poll results (as of just after my own vote) showed a favor of Moss over Owens by a margin of 41-11. In other words, about 4-times as many people would rather have Moss on their team than TO.
But should we go after either one?

From the One and Only PuckerTrucker:
I would be greatly elated if Randy Moss and the Vikings could settle their differences. 1 Because Randy Moss is the greatest receiver in Viking history, and Chris Carter was his mentor. 2 Moss still can out jump any cornerback in the league. 3 Moss deserves to go out a Minnesota Viking when his career ends I truely believe that Moss has had a soul serching experience and realizes that to be somebody you have to listen and pay attention and your life will turn around. 4 So this last message is for the Vikings GM and Coaching staff, Give Mr. Randy Moss a chance to sit down and have a talk with you I truely believe that he can be what your team needs on Offense, and the Vikings is what Randy Needs a Team that Truely believes in his abilities again like you did in 1998 you won’t be sorry for bringing him back. Give him a chance of a life time for both the Vikings and Randy Moss. Long live the Viking Magic once again
