Zygi Wilf, John Randle React To Doleman’s Election To Pro Football HOF

Posted by Mike Wobschall on February 5, 2012 – 9:11 am

It was announced on Saturday that former Vikings DE Chris Doleman was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and two prominent members of the Vikings family have weighed in to give their reaction.

“Having watched Chris enter the Vikings Ring of Honor this past season, we’re very excited that he has now been chosen as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2012,” Vikings Owner/Chairman Zygi Wilf said. “Chris was a very important part of the organization’s success for ten years and his accomplishments on the field speak for themselves. He has earned this honor and we look forward to celebrating his enshrinement in Canton in August.”

A fellow Vikings Ring of Honor inductee and now a fellow Hall of Famer, John Randle has a special appreciation for Doleman because the two were both defensive linemen, were both outstanding pass rushers, and were teammates with the Vikings in the 1990s.

“I’m so, so happy for big Dole,” Randle said. “I never thought I would have a guy who was like a big brother on the football field, but Chris was that guy for me. I looked up to him and studied the way he worked. I’m so happy that he will be up on that stage in Canton this summer where he belongs. It’s really a testament to that defensive line we had with the Vikings during those days and the work of some great coaches. Chris deserves this so much and I’m probably more excited for him than he is for himself.”

Finally Doleman is in he deserved to be in along time ago. While Carter continues to get $CREWED over. The only Wr who may have been better than him was J. Rice but they continue to put in lesser players than Carter. It is Garbage.

Great to see Chris Doleman made it…..Cater got the boot again So what else is new??
Oh yes, J. Allen got the same thing done to him…What jokes those “voters” are

Like I mentioned before, Would like the Gaints to be awarded (Win) the SB, just for the reason they beat the Green Bog Packers…

    That would be reason enough…

    ….

That’s is awesome for Doleman – was one of my favorite Vikes for sure! Carter will get his, but it is shame he has to wait.

Examine the statistics of past HOF receivers. Cris Carter might have twice as many catches, and yard than some of them.

It is a different game, but c’mon man!!!

How can Cris Carter not get voted in? Jared Allen is the defensive player of the year as i see it

Doleman deserves a huge congrats! The man is a legend. As far as Cris carter goes, shame on them for ONCE AGAIN not giving him the nod. Jared Allen also got the short end of the stick… Tough year overall to be a Vike fan… Seems to be the overall theme of things for quite some time now. Don’t worry, our day in the sun is soon to come…

Great to hear that Doleman made it to the HOF. There are some other Vikes that deserve to be there too. Does anyone know if Paul Krause ever made it to the HOF

Doleman was a given for the HOF, wish i could say the same for Marshall. Being a buckeye also make it even harder to take, but the numbers were just not there, look at the HOF selections for the time and he was #3 or #4 those years just missing on the probowl. Dont make light of the pb, it is a major measuring stick for the HOF. CC will be honored and soon, the stats and pbs are there to support it. I just wonder if they will ever put Gary Anderson in, kicking is part of the game and he is the best to ever play. I just wonder what team he would go with, i would like to think a perfect season would be enough (just wish he had made 1 more!!!!)
