Fans Encouraged To Plan Ahead and Arrive Early For Sunday’s Game

Posted by Ryan Cardinal on December 2, 2011 – 8:00 am

After using handheld metal detectors in limited fashion during the Vikings-Raiders game on November 20, the Vikings will fully implement the NFL’s new security policy and replace the current pat-down procedure with handheld metal detectors at all gates beginning with Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos.

In order to improve the NFL’s new process, the Vikings have hired an additional 60 game day security staff and have added 10 additional points of entry into Mall of America Field.

“We understand this new procedure will be a transition for both Vikings fans and the game day staff,” said Vikings Director of Security Kim Klawiter. “The Vikings are committed to ensuring fans are in their seats for kickoff and have the best game day experience possible. We are asking for our fans’ help as well.”

The Vikings are encouraging fans to:
• Arrive at Mall of America Field early and allow extra time for entrance.
• Remove items from pockets and hold in hands before reaching security.
• Be patient while fans and stadium security staff adjust to the new process.

Why even go to the “Game?”…Rout will be more like it…Now that McNothing is gone, maybe we will see Joe Webb toss a few, after the “OLine” gets Ponder his head handed to him by the Denver Def….

this team has done little to encourage its fans .

So much for Webb at Wr this year unless the vikes grab another qb. can’t take a chance on a ‘pop’ from a db just running routes. I’m all for the vikings singing vet QB David Garrard. He is currently doing some rehabbing but might work as a 3rd qb this year and next. Great guy and zero off-field issues

This should be the vikings draft board … notice less than S > CB

    2nd round … OL > S > CB

3rd round … better have a LT by now or we will suck next year again … S > CB > WR > OL ( 2nd OL draft pick )

    4th round … S > CB > WR > OL > DB ( 2nd DB / S / CB )

5th round … better have at least 1 DB and 1 OL and another DB or OL plus a WR by now or we will suck again next year

6th and 7th round …. too late to look at positions take best available

Probably be a close game as denver should not score more than 17 points…if vikes loose this game they will probably not win anymore this season..a very sad last 2 years of poor decision making by management…

    Probably our best option:

    First Round Matt Kalil OT
    Second Round Kelechi Osemele OG
Third Round Marvin McNutt WR Trade down for extra fourth round
    Fourth Round Donnie Fletcher SS
    Fourth Round Josh Robinson CB
Fourth Round Ryan Broyles WR Compensatory
    Free Agent Laron Landry SS
    Free Agent Cortland Finnegan CB

  19. By Viking Joe on Dec 2, 2011 | Reply

No 5th round pick, we traded it for Done-a-van, mistakes happen. The Vikings should draft LT Kalil from USC IN THE 1ST ROUND, they should have a top 3 pick. The Colts surely will draft Luck, with the first pick overall.

  20. By Twoodsnvikes on Dec 2, 2011 | Reply

    It was a 6th round i believe

  21. By Twoodsnvikes on Dec 2, 2011 | Reply

    This one too:

First Round Morris Claiborne CB Trade down for extra second round
    Second Round Kelechi Osemele OG
    Second Round Markelle Martin FS
Third Round Nate Potter OT Trade down for extra fourth round
    Fourth Round Antonio Allen SS
    Fourth Round Donnie Fletcher CB
Fourth Round Ryan Broyles WR Compensatory
    Free Agent Tracy Porter CB
Free Agent Dwayne Bowe/Vincent Jackson WR

Twoodsnvikes, you are correct sir, it was a 6th round pick, so the Vikes will have 5 picks in the top 131 picks next draft, if they remain 3rd, interesting.
    1st round: OT
    2nd round : CB
    3rd round : WR
    4th round : S
    5th round : OL

twoods … i like your first sceanrio

I hear Kalil is GOOD … Laron Landry would be a MAJOR upgrade …. Finnegan would be an upgrade …. and I am a Marvin McNutt fan … I would compare McNutt to Cris Carter = not the fastest WR but good to great hands / catching ability on a big frame 6’4″ ( I think )

McNutt might even be compared to Keyshawn Johnson with a better personality … Keyshawn was the original premodona WR and McNutt has not shown that characteristic

Vikings should do what they can to get Peyton Manning signed to a 2-3 year deal. Then give a contract to Andy Reid once he gets fired.
Pick up a WR free agent or 2. Available in ’12: Mike Wallace, Dwayne Bowe, Reggie Wayne, Stevie Johnson, Desean Jackson, Vincent Jackson, Wes Welker, and more…
    Draft all OL and DBs.

    How fun would that be?

Does anyone know how much cap space do the Vikings have going into next year ? I hope they can sign a good free agent or two !!!

I wish our O Line wasnt so bad.. I would love to have Claiborne (think if we had Cook and Claiborne) it would be a complete secondary change.

But overall I hope we take
    1) OT Kalil
    2) CB Stephon Gilmore or S Mark Barron
    3) WR Dwight Jones (UNC)

  37. By sean on Dec 6, 2011 | Reply

i think kalil or martin has to be priority #1
im up in the air about two tho between a dominant wr like Jones if he is still available or take a gamble on mcnutt being available in the third round if so go with Gilmore
Third round go with whichever WR/DB we didnt draft in the second.

I’m really hopin we can land at least one WR and one CB in the offseason I think Kalil is best available option for OT draft or free agent he looks nasty. If we don’t get a good wr or two tho we are gonna have trouble. Imagine a blackmon/floyd/jones lining up outside vincent jackson other side and percy in the slot with Kalil locking down the blindside. Ponder would look like a god out there. He put up 387 or whatever i might be a yard or two off without Jenkins and against a proven Bronco’s defense. I have hope for the future.

I also hate our current position. Rooting for my team but ultimately realizing that the worse we do the better it is for next year not used to it don’t want it to ever happen again.
