Vikings, Raiders Issue Wednesday Injury Reports

Posted by Mike Wobschall on November 16, 2011 – 3:13 pm

The Vikings and Raiders will play each other on Sunday, which means Wednesday is each team’s first day of practice and the day in which they issue their first injury reports. There are 20 players listed on the injury report between the two teams, so there’s a lot to go over.

For the Vikings, there’s good news because Christian Ponder (hand) was a full participant. Also, WR Michael Jenkins (knee) was limited. Four Vikings – G Anthony Herrera (knee), S Husain Abdullah (concussion), LB Erin Henderson (hamstring) and LS Cullen Loeffler (shoulder) – did not practice. CB Chris Cook has been ruled out.

The Raiders report is much more extensive. The following players did not practice: QB Jason Campbell, WR Jacoby Ford, K Sebastian Janikowski, CB Chris Johnson, RB Darren McFadden, DT Richard Seymour and RB Manase Tonga. The following players were limited participants: CB Chimdi Chekwa, S Matt Giordano, S Michael Huff, S Michael Mitchell, C Samson Satele and CB DeMarcus Van Dyke.

It will hurt alot if Herrera is out again. Ponder will be running for his life yet again, but I think the VIKES WIN 27-21 !!!!

we need to think of the up coming draft…the higher the pick the better…drop all 7 of the remaining games the season is over anyway….

well its good to get a replacement to help. I think there needs to be a coach change and ponder still needs work. Mcnabb and Webb need to get some reps to keep defenses working

Benny Sapp should be good enough to atleast give alittle stability to a sinking Secondary. I really can’t wait until free agency starts after the season ends.

Keep the coach, rebuild on defense. This season was a bust from the start. Identify needs on the team address them in the offseason and evaluate from that point. Frazier needs a chance to see if he can turn the team around. GO VIKINGS………

If you look forward to FA then look at guys like CB Brandon Flowers or CB Brandon Carr both play for the Cheifs and one signed a long term deal so they likely will let the other one go. Both are very good. Then for WR Chiefs Dwayne Bowe is the best option but he may demand big money could be worth it. That would allow the Vikings to focus on the OLine with the first couple of picks.

Our BLINDING needs are O line, WR, and Secondary, if we can fill one through free agency, most likely WR, hopefully we could fill the other two adequately through the draft, we won’t be able to do all three sufficiently

Do you think the vikings staff will do anything in FA this offseason? As the past indicates, no. But I fogot they will most likely pick washed up players.

Our defensive back field is way to short to defend the passing game. we are one of the smallest defensive backfields in the NFL.

I think the Wilfs are figuring this game of the NFL out. After the Chilly debacle i dont think these coaches will be able to use the players as an scape goat. Its the GM and coaches that picked the player personnel by FA or Draft. So whos realy responsible for a bad team.
