The Stadium issue is just like the Vikings Administration, it’s all about politics.

How else can you explain MASS STUPIDITY???

    @Mike Wobschall,

What was the reason for selecting only 8 offensive linemen in the last 9 years?
    2003 to 2011.

  3. By Frederick Jones on Nov 6, 2011 | Reply

Why didn’t we put an emphasis on drafting, buying, or trading for
Offensive Linemen and Defensive Backs when
    EVERYONE and his SISTER
knew those were CLEARLY our weakest areas?

    @Mike Wobschall,

WHY DID WE PAY FOR AN EXPENSIVE FREE AGENT QUARTERBACK

    Why? WHY? WHY!???

  8. By Frederick Jones on Nov 6, 2011 | Reply

My prediction for 2012 is we will draft more defensive ends, and tight ends before getting to the areas of need.

My grandmother could do a better job drafting for this team than your current group of Vice Presidents, and Scouts. And she has been dead for years!!!

LET IT GO FREDRICK JONES!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE BIGGEST CONCERN OF ANYBODY RIGHT NOW IS THE STADIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Frazier will figure out the OL and DB anyways.

Do you by chance know what college games our coaches and scouts most looked forward to seeing during the bye?

Outside of Ponder’s growth, what changes do you expect to see this time around with the packers compared to our first outing this season that could give our team the edge? Perhaps some some different play-calling or a big game from a particular player? I think everyone is excited by the promise our vikes showed last time and are excited to see how this game goes even more than usual.

Do you think the Vikings, after this year, should clean house? What I’m saying is should they get rid of players that are just taking money and not doing there job? To kill the Packers, we need a hypnotist to convince Chris Cook into believing that Rodgers is his ex-girlfriend. Not only will that motivate Cook, but once Matthews, Driver and the rest of the “Packers” realize that Aaron hasn’t been faithful to them, any hopes of repeating are gone.

After watching multiple games you notice that our punt returner Marcus Sherals is making a bad habit out of pinning us in our own 10 or worse. So I would like to know what are the chances that we put Greg Camarillo back there since he was a very reliable punt returner last season.

I was just wondering how a state like minnesota can support, I’m sorry baill out a baseball team that the leauge did’nt even care if it folded?. If you guys were smart you would have let the twins fold. But I see you guys were willing to stick with them, and they seemed to have done ok. Well I guess the vikings just aren’t as important. I guess bringing a superbowl to minnestoa either with the team or by way of a new stadium just doesn’t make sense to your pollitions. The way I see it you guys deserve to lose that team or they would of had a new stadium when Red McCombs was there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

It’s official – the Refs are on the Packers’ payroll. There was a “catch” earlier today in the Packer Charger game, where the ball was pinched on the ground for a catch-TD. There was a play in the Raven Steeler game tonight that was almost identical in how it was trapped in the ground. The refs gave the Packers the benefit of the doubt on the play, but with just as clear of evidence, the refs overturned the ruling against the Ravens! You can say sure, but it was with different refs…but don’t forget the play last year where Shiancoe’s TD was overturned after he caught the ball and it made contact with the ground…that play was even more obvious of a catch than either of today’s plays, but it was against the Packers, so the refs couldn’t help but rule in favor of the men writing their paychecks. LUDICROUS! We need to find a way to get less biased rulings in every game…

Joe T – Red McCombs was the worst owner the team has ever had…he’s probably among the worst owners in the history of the NFL. He bought the team, owned them for a couple of years, turning them from the record setting ’98 team into the junkheap of the last decade. He passed on great coaches like Tony Dungy and Brian Billick in favor of an offensive line coach! Then, just before finally releasing the team from his grip of death, he made one final move to ensure that we would be hurting for a while longer, as he traded away Randy Moss for a popsicle! Red never deserved a stadium, and he may be a good reason why no solution has yet been found. The Wilfs have been great owners, but are stuck in a horrible situation, with the state in debt and ignorant state leaders who can’t realize a solution to help build out of that debt (a new stadium!)! These are the same idiots who said to shut down any kind of revenue building entity during the gov’t shutdown, while making little reduction to expenses – and that was just before the most lucrative week of the year.

I just came across an interesting little rumor that suggests we may still have the Vikings under lease through 2012:
    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d823cc5a2/article/clause-in-lease-could-keep-vikings-in-metrodome-for-2012

It indicates that a clause in the lease says that the lease will extend one extra year if the team is forced to play home game outside of the dome for part of a season. The roof collapse forced them to play the final 2-home games of the 2010 season in Detroit and TCF Field, which reportedly qualifies for this clause.

Not the way that I’d like to keep the team here, but it provides some hope that we just might have one extra year to get things straightened out before all is lost.

  51. By Parody on Nov 6, 2011 | Reply

…then again, it gives the politicians one extra year to earn a paycheck while they mull over the idea and ignore the problem before we call for their impeachment…

So how much of the state supports using taxes to pay for other state expenses, like Civic Centers and refilling the lakes with fish? I bet that a lot fewer than 37% support a lot of the things that we spend our money on…

  62. By Titus on Nov 6, 2011 | Reply

Channel 11 is a local NBC affiliate — I had just watched the last half of the Steelers-Ravens game and then on our news they discussed what it would be like without the Vikings— the build up to the story had more substance than the actual feature. Basically, it talked about 5-9 million that is brought to the city every Sunday, that the poor environmental report and lack of money from Ramsey county make the Arden Hills site less viable– which also makes several sites in downtown Mpls more attractive. Then it discussed polls on gambling to raise revenue which is mostly supported versus 56% who oppose taxes to build a stadium— hey, I think I summed up the whole news — and to think I fell for the build up and waited for it.

What is the legend of the Vikings? It is a passion that is passed from generation to generation. It can be seen from the North Shore to the southern plains. It’s the deafening roar of the home crowd. It’s players giving back to the community that gives so much to them. It’s over two million Minnesotans gathering together every Sunday to share the same experience.

For over 50 years this has been our home. But our story continues. Together, we can build a multi-purpose facility owned by the great state of Minnesota, where our young champions can play, and world-class events will take center stage. We can put Minnesotans back to work, with over 7,000 jobs and $300 million in wages. We can help build Minnesota businesses. Be a first class region right in the heart of the midwest. Together, our legend continues.

This is our team. This is our state. This is our home.

$300 million in wages and 7,000 jobs created? Ordinarily, that would be kind of difficult to argue against. However, the Kurt Zellers and Amy Kochs of the world don’t care about that sort of thing. They would sooner see the Vikings leave the state than actually get anything accomplished.

what would we be getting out of cutting Chris Cook wouldn’t that be worst then what childress did when he cut Moss after we gave up our third rounder since we did trade up to get him in the second round. I think we should help him out to become a better man he is young and don’t remember Everson Griffen had the same problem and their were fans who wanted him out of team but i bet those fans are supporters now. I just think the guy can be a shutdown corner in the league and our team has been missing that for years so give him a chance the Bucs didn’t cut Talib after all the trouble he’s gotten his self in so we should support Cook he’s yet to be proven guilty.

ive said it before and ill say it again, i dont care if the team is full of nice guys i just want to win. Cook is a young man and im sure he is very remorseful. He probably should have been smarter in his actions but he let a bad situation get the best of him. Just like Chris said “there is two sides to every story” when he can let him play, he will most likely have a standout game because he will want to make up for his mistake.

Mike, do you think the stadiums opponents have ever taken a macroeconomics class because it sure doesnt seem like it. where do they think Zygi’s 407 million should be spent? What about all the out of state money that comes in for every game? Do they realize tha money gets spent and respent again within the state and for that very reason $100 can mean as much as $1,000 for the states revenue. Is this too difficult of a concept for somebody who is entrusted with the economic futures of their constituents? They are worried about spending tax dollars but they must take for granted that some of those dollars come directly and indirectly as a result of the MINNESOTA Vikings franchise.

    2nd pick LT
    3rd pick S
    4th pick RG

    7th pick OLB

Is there a certain reason why we arn’t winning most of our games? Is it we are not the best team, or the other teams are better?? Also why are people so mean on this. The Vikings staff and players are obviously trying to do the best job they can do so chill a little. it’s not like every team/everyone is perfect.

Can anyone beat the Packers? If we can keep them from a fast start– we can beat them. They beat the Saints and the Chargers by getting a huge early lead– but then almost lost- Chargers put up 38 points on them. They are vulnerable. Our D better play the game of their life. Vikings by 10.

  108. By Titanium on Nov 7, 2011 | Reply

Titus, I didn’t know you play for the Vikings. What position do you play? “If we can keep them from a fast start” How will your play keep the Packers from starting fast? It’s a week away and you already have a prediction. You must be like Miss Cleo and such. The Vikings must have made some drastic changes to their roster in order to be favored by 10. The only team that can beat the Packers this year is last years Packers. I know it’s hard to stomach but it’s true, the Vikings just aren’t in the same class as the Packers this year.

  109. By Titus on Nov 7, 2011 | Reply

Titanium, better name than last week– a little more classy. But your breath is the same. I have to agree with Tony Dungy who, after Sunday night football, said that teams can pass on the Pack too easily, and in the playoffs, when they meet elite quarterbacks, the Pack will collapse. Remind me again of the username you had the last time you made your witty comment that you did not know I play on the team? Not much to do in Cheeseville? I feel sorry for Packer fans, I really do. They have a couple lucky seasons and they worship the team– nothing else exciting going on.

I have to say, the Packers are soooo good that they let 40 yards get scored on them for half their games. They just throw so much that eventually a guy opens up and goes for a touchdown. They have no run game, or run defense, actually, they don’t really have a defense at all.

Packers cannot contain Adrian and Ponder.

  114. By matthew pederson on Nov 7, 2011 | Reply

i think its soo funny how all the commentators want to be on the packs jock, last nite after the pack let the chargers walk down the field to cut the lead to 14 the commentators were like, ‘oh this is so smart of Capers to allow them to march the field like this its taking so much time off the clock’ give me a break. I want so badly for our Vikes to cram it down these smug holes that call themselves ‘fans’ i am so tired of these classless pack losers trolling our blogs, i dont see any bears or lions fans on here, is life really so bleak for these guys, i have never been on a Packer blog, why do they feel it is necessary for them to take time out of their lives to come on here. Ah well im sure the advertisers and Vikings staff dont care what they have to say, traffic is traffic, thanks for your two cents and we look forward to collecting all the money you guys bring into the great state of MINNESOTA

  115. By matthew pederson on Nov 7, 2011 | Reply

After we win this game be prepared to see alot of how good Jared Allen is and how Ponder is the coolest cucmber in the fridge, what can be said about AD that hasnt already? Oh yeah they will also be talking about how good he is in space after a catch

@All Viking Fans- ever looked at the Packer blog site? It’s a ghost town… I’m not sure if no one in Wussconsin owns computers or they just have no social skills? There’s just one boaster named Cali that has no class. Probably a closet Lions fan

I’ll pull a Titus prediction on the Packer game, Vikes rule 35-28

  121. By Parody on Nov 7, 2011 | Reply

Vegas – I have checked it out before. I was befuddled by it as well…until I tried to post to it. The site is SO selective on what can get posted, that there’s almost nothing that does get posted. So my guess is that Packer fans who happen to troll our sites are doing so mostly out of spite. They’re furious that the Vikings site allows its fans to communicate with one another and they take that out on us with their fat-headed comments.

Viking fans dislike Packer fans because of their arrogance. Packer fans dislike Viking fans because of their arrogance. The difference is one teams arrogance comes from success and the other’s comes from spite. Envy is a deadly sin Minnesota, now take your beating like men. GB 36 MN 10 (Vikings score the TD in garbage time)

  127. By Parody on Nov 7, 2011 | Reply

Trojan – That is a very glib comparison. I’m not about to speak for all of my fellow fans, but I know that the reason Packer fans annoy me goes far beyond arrogance. It’s the way that they show a conscious effort to display themselves with complete lack of class that makes them so dispicable. Packer fans let themselves into their neighbors’ home and then defoul it with every action they take. They “greet” visiting team busses with their bare rear-ends and they honor their most decorated veterans with 3-constant hours of boos. I cheer for my team. I am happy to see them win and disappointed to see them lose, but be assured that I will never try to build my ego through any form of Shadenfreude. It is a dispicable way to live, and you need to ask yourself why, for you, it has become an acceptable way to live.

I posted a very serious question to the short wizard behind the blog curtain about Chris Cook yesterday AND TODAY IT’S BEEN WIPED OFF THE BLOG!!

  129. By PAUL M. on Nov 7, 2011 | Reply

    TO REPEAT:

What is the water cooler chatter throughout the Vikings organization regarding Chris Cook’s short & long term standing with our team?

  130. By Parody on Nov 7, 2011 | Reply

Paul M – Have you watched coach Frazier’s latest press conference? The reporters spent at least half the time asking questions about Cook. For anything that the team is willing to advertise about the issue, you’ll hear it in that presser. Frazier was resistant to release much information, but with all the questions they asked him, you can get a pretty good idea of where they are at in this point of it all.

where is the mailbag….its now Tuesday. I thought it was funny when I read the description of this article, “The Vikings didn’t play this weekend, but that doesn’t mean the Monday Morning Mailbag takes the week off. It will appear in its usual spot, at its usual time, so be sure to us your questions.” Uh, apparently it did take the week off or at least when it supposed to come out…like on Monday…because its the MONDAY Morning Mailbag….

    right on Nova-
That was indeed a special time in boxing.they don’t make characters (Ali, Frazier, Foreman) like that anymore

  133. By Parody on Nov 8, 2011 | Reply

I’m wondering the same thing Garrett. I searched the website, but can’t find any mailbag since the one posted on Halloween. It looks like the latest news article was posted on the 2nd, so if we see nothing today, that will add up to an entire week that the writers have taken off.

Maybe the bye “doesn’t mean the Monday Morning Mailbag takes the week off,” but apparantly it doesn’t MEAN that the Monday Morning Mailbag will be showing up this week either.

I wouldn’t expect to see Cook any time before his court case is settled, and then it will all depend on the ruling of the court and the subsequent suspension from the NFL.

Everyone here is a true fact that you cannot deny about the federal government in the last few years, the Republicans only control 1/2 of the U.S. congress. The Democrats have the Presidential office and 1/2 the congress. That makes it 3/4 Democrats to 1/4 Republicans, and before the election, when Obama became president it was 100% Democrats in control of the federal government. I ask you how come you do not go off on them for not getting their agenda done during that time. The republicans could not block anything, the Democrats had a super majority, just pointing out a true fact that you cannot deny.

Now I am an independent and think both parties stink. I am a conservative who believes in freedom and liberties that includes the people to join a union, if they want. That being said I feel unions have the right to be if the people truly want one. Like all big organizations there is good and bad. I personally have bad feelings about unions but that does not stop me from thinking that people have the right and sometimes the need to join unions, just as I do not think people should be put down because they believe in something other then what one believes, I do not like it when any organization forces you to join just to be able to work. Remember I said I am for freedom and liberties and not trying to down anyone, and I am not a Republican.

Mike W. I hope the Vikings new PR will convince the people of MN to come around and tell the state to get a stadium deal done, and soon.

Mike B. and others who are against my cause,

Notice that the TWINS fired their GM recently.

There is no part of the Vikings more important than the administration. They
are a HUGE part of why the Vikings were 6-10 in 2010, and 2-6 so far in 2011.

YOU MIGHT want to consider that among your stadium concerns.

OFFENSIVE LINEMAN, we had a player years ago, and trade him to Dallas, and Jimmy Johnson maked him and offensive lineman, and he became one of the best ever. His name was Nate Newton
