Vikings Tweak Roster; Add D’Imperio

Posted by Mike Wobschall on October 4, 2011 – 1:11 pm

The Vikings on Tuesday made a roster change, signing a player from their practice squad to the Active Roster.

FB Ryan D’Imperio, a 7th-round draft choice from 2010, has been added to the 53-man roster.

To make room for D’Imperio, the Vikings waived TE Allen Reisner.

    Why not:

Vikings tweak roster… Cut Mcnabb, going to start ponder

    and

Vikings tweak roster… Aromoshodu will take Berrian’s starting role.

This move should help some. Keep Jimmy up on the line where he can help hide Loadholts shortcomings and still get our horse a lead blocker worthy of the name. Reisner looks like he will be a decent ball player, but the squad doesn’t really need him at this point. I hope we get him back on the practice squad.

Hey, can we get a targeting system installed in McNabbs head? I’d be willing to pitch in a few bucks to see that happen…

    …Ponder….

Great insiight Woodboat, I also like D’Imperio as a blocker and a runner and I was sorry to see him go to the PS but i am glad he is back on the AR. On a sad note we have to like through another loss with McBadd.

I wonder what Ponder is thinking right about now….

“Lets see, there are other rookie QBs playing right now and having success, other than the kid sitting behind Tom Brady. Everyone keeps saying that if coach puts me in the game, its a signal that he considers our season to be over. Hmm, he doesn’t have much confidence in my ability to play at this level, considering how badly D Mac is playing. I wonder why he drafted me?”

Its gotta suck to hear that if they put him in, the season is over. Welcome to the NFL, Ponder!!!

Psssstttt…. put him in the game, Frazier, or collect you pick slip….

I thought 4 losses would have put McNabb on the bench but the coach is not ready to make that move. What’s it going to take for the Vikings to be the only team who hasnt won a game yet. I hope to see Ponder in this game whether he comes in the 2nd half. Getting extra blocking can’t hurt but the ball needs to be delivered in the hands of the receiver not the feet or over the head – go Vikes

Now all they need to do is give Brandon Burton a starting spot on the defense. TAKE HIM OFF THE INACTIVE LIST ON GAME DAY!!!

is that it? D’Imperio in and Reisner out? That’s the only tweek they could find to be needed in the roster!!!!! Why do I act suprised!!!

Tony Dungy said he would not just consider it, but he would start Ponder. Is bringing in Ryan a sign of bolstering blocking for ponder?

    If not, suck for luck

All of this mess and we sign d imperio what a worthless signing like he would make a world of a difference. Bench loadholt, its time to get rid of this whole o-line and start from scratch what do we have to lose. Just get rid of every o-line and start rebuilding it. Won’t get any worse than the vikes have now.

Chris Cook should start vs Fitz. He shutdown Mike Williams, then had the game of his life vs Megatron. Why he wasnt matched up against Bowe for most of the game is beyond me. Griffin cant get the job done anymore. Cook is the best Pure Corner on this team. He should get at least 70% of the snaps vs Fitz. Thoughts?

Idea ! what if we go each position like baseball especially with our receiving & qb , db core what have we got to lose no pun intended they all get paid right ! oh that’s right some players don’t have to work hard because their starters, remember coach you said your not married to a particular system or scheme then why don’t you make some changes it’s necessary , it’s needed , it’s TIME ! Berrian, Griffin , both safety’s ect. ect. time to get some aggressive play calling and more motivation i know some of these youngsters will bring that with alot more effort than some of the dead beats that disappoints week to week with the same sorry effort.

Might as well just tell us the sun came up this morning … it doesnt change anything.

Berrian Sucks … and 4 others need immediate fixing !!!!

I became a viking fan in the early 70’s, Fran T and the purple people eaters. Diehard fan ever since never missed a televised game I had access to, live in Illinois. In the early 90’s I got direct tv back when you had to buy your receiver and dish @ $800!! Nfl ticket was $125. Now they give you the eqipment. At the start of every season I put my golf clubs away, no golf on sundays, won’t miss the game. After Monday’s presser when announced that MCBADD will start again vs. Cards I decided to vote with my feet, called my golf buddies and set up a golf game for Sunday afternoon. I WILL NOT WATCH ONE MORE GAME WTH HIM AT QB!! He is totally inaccurate downfield and cannot throw a screen or swing pass in stride to save his life and has no leadership skills. I hope the Wilf’s read these posts. My 17 year old daughter wanted to go see a game for her birthday and she could pick almost anything she wanted. WILL NOT BE GOING AS LONG AS THIS IS OUR QB!! Start Ponder or Webb and I will buy tickets. Will support this team as soon as things change. Still love my Vikes, feel sorry for the great players on this team and am starting to seriously doubt Frazier

Fellow Viking Fans, at this point in the season please remove all sharp objects if you havent done so already. We still have plenty to hope for this season. First, we have a great shot at the first overall pick in next years draft so lets dont botch that one by winning 4 or 5 games only to end up 5-11 instead of 1-15. Because lets face it; if you dont make the playoffs who cares in this league. Secondly, we will probably be hiring a new coaching staff and we will definitely see Ponder before the year is out if not this week. Mcnabb is done and why didnt our coaching staff realize that. (See 2nd point). What is Ponder ever going to learn from watching Mcnabb except how to throw picks. We need an NFL caliber qb, a impact safety and a group of O-lineman that can block.

  22. By NovaScotiaVike on Oct 4, 2011 | Reply

No free Sunday Ticket in Canada, I’m locked in at about $27 per week. I will watch this week, but if Mcnabb and Berrian are still there next week, I will take Sonja to the cottage and let her chase some rabbits,( she never catches them), even though that game (on NBC) is free.

  23. By VegasVike on Oct 4, 2011 | Reply

Nova, I take my beagle to the desert to run, the first time she saw a jackrabbit I thought I lost her for good, she took off baying like crazy. Beagles were bred in England to be rabbit hounds so I figured this was something that would never change. Now when I take her out if a jackrabbit runs in front of her she barely gives it a passing glance!

  24. By NovaScotiaVike on Oct 4, 2011 | Reply

Vegas, I used to have a beagle…..great dogs. Dobermans aren’t exactly rabbit hounds, but I know that she wouldn’t back down, even if I ran into a bear.( I don’t want to put that theory to a test, however) !

Same here Scott R , 37 YEARS A FAN last time i saw this from a vikings team with so much talent was when the great LES STECKLE was the coach , Lesley come on man you can’t be this blind , shake things up a bit sit u’m berrian , griffin , mc nabb, and tell the oc to get more aggressive mix things up look at what N.E. is doing with Welker and what the bengals are doing with Dalton even the sorry redskins i live in DC and we are a better team than a lot of the teams that are winning ! but you have to make the necessary changes , if BILL PARCELLS was the coach some of these dudes would be gone by now ! so why are you so devoted to some of these slackers that’s why teams bring in new talent year to year think about the guy’s that are giving there best each week it’s aint right .

0-5 should get us Ponder and I think we are well on our way!

Wow! THis REisner kid must hate the Vikes more than any Packer ever could by now. He held his own in pre-season. Was cut, signed to the practice squad, activated, and now cut again. What a bunch of garbage. Schiancoe could be traded to feature Rudolph with Reisner as a compliment.

Here is something to ponder…(No punn intended.) Why did the Vikes sign Musgrave??? He was grossly outcoached by our inter-division rival Green Bay Packers. He had a home playoff game with a 14 and 2 team. Look at the genious and creativity. When the game is on the line we decoy with A.P. We have an explosive athlete in Webb, we run sandlot plays when he’s on the field. Yikes Vikes. Give us something to be inspired about. Your even losing Sonja now…..

Well it’s a new dawn anew day and i’m not feeling any good about this team and where it’s heading ! why do some coach’s hang on to certain player’s and ideals and schemes even when they don’t work !!!! I totally agree with all of the frustration we lash out because we are viking fans and we are tired of the BS! tired of just coming close we want it all and we want it now! as we should , the future is now the organization , coach’s ,players need to realize this and stop robbing the fans of what we deserve as fans we do our part now do yours and go Fight for the future it’s the least you could do. Ladies and Gentlemen this concludes the loosing so feel free to boast to move about the country .

Hey Leslie Frazier, start using your imagination and tweak your squad during the games!! What’s wrong with putting Webb in at wideout or H-back!! Use Harvin more for running plays-end arounds!! Put Ponder in for a few series!! You can still use your boy McIncomplete!! Toby Gerhart was a wasted draft pick!! We already have an every down running back in AP!! Trade him and get a descent draft pick for him!! Put A. Winfield at free safety!! Play the kids at corner- Cook and Burton!! Cedric Griffen is not the same player he was!! Put Raymond at SS!! Hope that helps coach, because if you don’t stir up the pot, your days as a head coach will be short lived!! Your putting your job on the line by sticking with McIncomplete!!

  49. By NDPurple on Oct 5, 2011 | Reply

The way things are going we should get a great first round draft pick, which needs to go for either a: 1. OL (or a OT that can at least move their feet)2. impact safety, or 3. MLB- love E.J., but think he has slowed a step in pass coverage (see Detroit game for examples). Also never see any spread formations from the Muscrat offense-why not? Aroushamdou can spread the field with speed, Jenkins, Harvin and Shanc can fill the slots and be great targets, and AD could tear apart a spread defense with a block or two. And Ponder could hit any number of targets mentioned above………

wow ppl still dis b like its his fault mc nabb not throwing him tha ball right he had ppl beat n to games and mc nabb over throw em and throw it out of bounds plus he had tha driver saving catch tht tha vikings scored on if we had a acc qb then they would put it right n b chest when he beat them cbs dont blame him for bein so far n tha wr spot if mc nab throw tha ball right he would be up be top 30 so chill and blame where it need to be blamed tha qb spot as it alwayz been if a qb cant throw nor cant check down at tha line then tha team is doom same thing going on n indy when collions was n its just time to make a change so

My thoughts exactly [ NDPurple] get the youngins in ! lack of imagination and an inaccurate QB is killing no robbing this team of any chances it has to be competitive ! you would think that after all this time Frazier waited to be a head coach that he would at times like this pull out all stops to right this thing any dope with an ounce of brain would ? what do teams do with 5 seconds left with 40 yards to go down by 4 they throw a hail mary ! well Frazier we’re down by 4 games ?

You guys have this year all wrong. Keep the old dogs and overpaid underperforming players out there. Make them earn the paycheck they will recieve playing or not. Keep the young guys healthy for one more year. Then take our 2-14 record into the offseason and if we are not in the running for Luck, we package guys like Shaincoe, the hendersons, toby, berrian, etc. for the first pick next year. Then cut the others to make room for new O-line help. Hey a guy can dream huh….

Look i am a McNabb fan. He good QB second to Vick. What the coaches have to do is, let McNabb have a number of his best plays and call them. He can’t learn the system overnite. Teach him the basic stuff first and then over time he grasp the rest. Take the pressure off of him,by letting him play and call a few plays, I know thats what u pay the other guy for. But u might not win this season, but that where Redskin made a mistake cause he would be prime this year. He is good beleive me. If you want to win some, try this.

Did not work on screen was trying to show a 4 wide-out set-up as I am sure all have seen b4 only w/ Minny u can use Webb now use his athleticism as receiver or a come back and have him throw from wide recvr starting position w/ a latteral to him as he breaks behind to the right if he is lined up wide on left side of line….Could use Jenkins / Webb lined wide left AP could motion into slot left or right w/ Arcenaux (sp) and HARVIN at wide right position…Mcnubb can get quick pass off to someone coming quick underneath w/ slant etc need to push defense out to edge, spread them out and then run AD up the middle.. Try something anything to get defense spread out….
