NFL To Recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month With “A Crucial Catch Campaign”

Posted by Mike Wobschall on October 3, 2011 – 6:32 am

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in support of that the NFL will once again have its “A Crucial Catch Campaign.” For the 3rd straight year NFL teams, coaches, officials and players will wear pink on the field during the month of October in recognition of the fight against breast cancer.

Throughout October, all NFL teams will celebrate survivors, visit patients at hospitals and turn their stadiums pink to show enduring support. The NFL and the American Cancer Society will partner to emphasize the importance of prevention by encouraging all women over the age of 40 to get a yearly mammogram.

There are several ways you can participate in “A Crucial Catch.” Visit nfl.com/pink for the resources and tools you can use to get involved.

And remember, an annual screening saves lives. Let’s spread the word!

I predict one Viking player getting fined for wearing pink that is not sponsored by the NFL.

I, for one, am very happy that ALL the NFL teams are showing concern over breast cancer awareness because it doesn’t just affect women, it also afftects men! I’m upset with the playing so far this season, but I still believe in showing my “purple pride” and I thank the Vikings for showing their “pink pride” in honor of breast cancer awareness month!

I also have faith in the Vikings that they can (and will!) turn their season around! I had faith that God would pull me through breast cancer, and He did, so I won’t give up on the Vikings either! SKOL VIKINGS!

I’m glad I’m not the only one that notice NO pink by the Vikings! I, for one, am extremely disappointed that they’re not showing their support! It makes me want to go for the Bears to win! “Man up” Vikings!!!
