The Vikings have arrived at Arrowhead Stadium for today’s battle with the Kansas City Chiefs at 12:00 p.m. CT. There’s not a cloud in the skies and the temperatures are cool for now, although they’re expected to rise throughout the afternoon. It’s going to be a great day for football here in Kansas City.
The Vikings last played in Kansas City during the 2007 season, but since then there’s been a significant remodel to Arrowhead Stadium. The renovations also included improvements to the Kansas City Royals Kauffman Stadium, which is located a stone’s throw away from Arrowhead.
The $375 million in renovations to Arrowhead included the addition of the Chiefs Hall of Honor, currently known as the Chiefs Hall of Fame; a tribute to Lamar Hunt; and “horizon level” seating in which luxury suite owners will be sitting outdoors. The refurbishments started in 2007 and were finalized in time for the Chiefs to open the 2010 season with all the improvements complete.
Arrowhead was already one of my favorite venues in the NFL and now it’s even a little better. This is a great place to watch football; truly a complete fan experience.
Anyway, back to Vikings vs. Chiefs. We’ll have the Vikings inactives for you at 10:30 a.m. CT, and we’ll continue to provide you pre-game updates when appropriate. Remember you can also follow me (@wobby) and the Vikings (@VikingsFootball) on Twitter to enhance your game-day experience.
