I noticed more than ever the accuracy issues Joe Theisman shined a light on … 2 very succesful coaches have parted with McNabb in consecutive years, I was amont the McNabb wanters.

Can we please just admit we made a mistake and give Ponder a chance? or is McNabbs love of the catering the reason he will remain the starter ?

What kind of production does our staff look for in a WR ? Berrian is on pace for about 8 catches … and hes our starter. Have our coaches ever thought about finding a WR that creates separation ?

Why is our one time rookie of the year and the second best offensive player on our team on the bench all the time? Percy should never be on the bench, why is he being used as a part time player?

    Mike W, couple questions:

    1. How can our head coach say that there is no question at our QB position when the starter is consistently overthrowing/underthrowing open receivers?

    2. Why do we continue to carry a “number 1″ receiver that through 3 games has 1 catch for 17 yards? I remember talk in the preseason that he was going to have a ‘breakout’ year – how long do we have to wait for this supposed ‘breakout’ to take place before a move is made to better the team at the WR position?

When are you going to get rid of Donovan MCstupid he is over the hill and you drafted a great young QB and have another Great QB in Joe Webb maybe the Wilfs should fire you Frazier and Mcnabb and you can both take the bus to where ever but you have no guts to use the young good QB’s you have. So just leave the team to the other coaches and QB’s Frazier you and Mcnabb are worthless along with the bull your peddling after the games this is Number three are you trying to lose all 16 games so you can move the team or are you just stupid Frazier?

  17. By Shawn on Sep 25, 2011 | Reply

I have to admit I like some of the creativity on offense … lining Gerhart at FB was interesting but we need an accurate QB to win. So please Frazier dont allow McNabb to get you fired please Musgrave dont allow McNabb to get you fired….

I think we could be good if McNabb to hit someone in stride but everything he throws is low or high or behind them …. it Ponder time. Before its too late

the most obvious question this week is why not hammer peterson on 3rd and 1 or (especially) 4th and 1? it should be a situation like the old Packers sweep… everyone on the field knows its coming, all of the opposing coaches know it’s coming, all of the fans in the stands know it’s coming, everyone watching on tv knows its coming, but we still DARE YOU TO STOP ADRIAN PETERSON. go down playing your best card, because to do anything else shows a lack of identity and conviction by the Vikings.

1 catch for 17 yards..wow..the young guys we let go could have done that..and yes percy should not be off the field when we need him..i just really don’t get it..and once again the coach’s interview never seem to surprise me..but no last week you said they can’t tell it all in the conference..good one..well at least don’t lie..how could he be proud of the why this team played today..

I’m watching the PIT – Colts game and just saw Wallace go deep no problem for a TD, i just want to know why in the three years we’ve had Percy Harvin why we only attempted that kind of pass about 5 times ever, and almost all of them end up being huge plays. JUST COME ON I WANT TO SEE SOME BIG PLAYS OUT OF McNAB I KNOW AP CAN MAKE PLAY BUT HE CAN’T PUT HIS TEAM ON HE’S BACK EVERY GAME!!
send Percy deep he’s in my eyes the fastest guy on the field in the NFL. just practice deep plays, that’s what this team need to work on! SPREAD THE FIELD DON’T CROWD THE LINE, Give AP the chance to make big plays every time he gets the ball.

I don’t understand the criticism of Berrian. Twice this season – in San Diego and against Detroit in the 4th quarter – Berrian gained separation from the CB and had his man beat for a TD, but the ball was underthrown in San Diego and overthrown against Detroit. It doesn’t matter who the receiver is, if the ball is underthrown or overthrown, it’s not the WRs fault.

I agree Berrian’s numbers are not acceptable for a starting WR, but I don’t think much blame goes to Berrian. The throws that have gone his way have been mostly inaccurate…underthrown in San Diego, a wide throw on a quick slant against Tampa on the first drive, an overthrow today when he had his guy beat in the 4th quarter, and then several times when throws have been too low, even today against the Lions.

This team has issues, but Berrian is not even close to being one of them.

Keep the questions coming folks…we don’t need to see complaints…we want questions for the Mailbag.

It is very sad, a team that is very clear, still has talent is doing so bad. We should be 3-0 at this point but due to coaching short falls, we will be in the race for a high draft pick. In your opinion is it time to move to Ponder, because it seems he also has better leadership skills than the current starting QB. Ponder moved the team well in the pre-season lets put him in and he might surprise.

THE EXPERIMENT IS OVER ….I’ve never seen such play calling in the second half of games that seem to be totally in control in the first 30 minutes. Yes both the coach and Mcnabb have to step aside because one more consecutive loss and the season will be history for the Vikes this season. All the other players will begin to lose site and many of the good players will begin not caring about the remainder of the season. I now Ponder may not be as ready as some wish he woul be… But at least expectations will be lower and the pressure will not be as great coming into a line up where the first starting quaterback is playing well.

A very sad start for all Minnesota fans.

I am trusting you are more than aware of what problems need to address. WTF….This is freaking stupid. Bench McNabb and start the new Viking era. Old washed up quarterbacks don’t do us any good; they just keep us from developing our new talent. Play Ponder, but keep him in his comfort zone. Short quick routes and play action. AP will keep them honest and we will see Ponder grow into a great QB. He’s got talent but it does us no good on the bench. PS spread the field on the short runs; we don’t need the whole defense crammed between the tackles you freaking moron.

The conventional method of counter-acting a strong defensive pass rush is the ” screen “……..this is something our opponents do frequently…I think we have forgotten some of these basics. With one of the top running backs in the NFL…do we only know how to run into tight line gaps against huge defensive linemen? I have been a loyal fan for over 40 years….but I am growing weary of supporting a losing team. If Ziggy wants a stadium so badly….let him pay for it….the threat of leaving Minnesota is making our fans weary, and in these tough economic times…it may be the best option !!!!

Mcnabb has been highly overrated as a QB his whole career and now that he has proven that to the world, can we please get rid of him?! This is supposed to be Adrian Peterson’s team, he wants to take the team on his back when we need him to. So, why dont we do it? The defense is doing a great job, but they cant play the whole second half of the game.I also dont understand why The media jumps on the Ponder Wagon so fast we have a QB with some experience in Webb. He played alot better than Ponder in preseason , so why does everyone just skip over him and assume Ponder wil be next in line? Why dont we split the QB reps with Webb and Ponder to see which one will emerge as the starter. Just because we drafted Ponder in the first round doesnt mean he is ready to play!

Coaching, Coaching, Coaching! If you know football this is not a player problem. How do you not give the ball to AP on 4 and 1? How do you not double the best WR in the game at the junction in the game? The O Coord and D Coord have to do better with making Adjustments at crucial points in the game. If you look at all three games, we got out coached in each one in the second half. This team should be 3 – 0. One encouraging thing is that its still early and if we turn it around this week, we’re still in it. No one has blown us out. We’ve beat ourselves.. If we can put 60 minutes together, the league better watch out. The vikes have proved we can play with anybody… We just have to finished! We will win next week.

Questions? Why don`t you ask some better question Mike! EVERYONE here screams the obvious, What kind of carma does this blog really create? The bad deal about sports in Minn is the people want things and only stupid front office suit dummies ruin our dreams. hmmmm reminds me of our government. Give L.A. the keys to put with thier Lakers keys. Minn sports is good when we all are together. Top to bottom. Moves need to be done. In my opinion, Musgrave needs out. Cut Mcnabb like Garrard, and give webb the chance. Go get the best Offencive C out there and hand the D keys to Singleterry. Throw that ignorant Rock Pagac out the door. Oh ya. Berrian must go packn and throw Iglesias in his spot. Any Good Cordinator would attck heavy with Harvin. Move need to happen or L.A. will get the Vikes too.

Why don’t we put in Ponder? Mcnabb isn’t the QB he use to be and he isn’t an asset to the team. We need to start Ponder and let him get the experience and see what he can do. If we don’t give him a chance we aren’t going to have a chance at all.

I am writing as a Fan of the Vikings and a Fan of the NFL. Don’t know what really happen last year for the team self-destruction. But it’s obvious that the team problems went beyond Childress, Farve, Moss and our coaches. It’s a team problem and the whole team is responsible in fixing the issues. But before the team puts in Ponder fix the problems. Frazier, you need to be more proactive than reactive. Sorry Frazier but you won’t last this year if you continue to make these mistakes. Tip from a fan run the ball, no excuse that AP touches the ball less than 20-25 times a game… Good luck

I’m wondering why tge Vikings too a time out late in the game when they could have virtually run the time down instead of giving the Lions tge ball with 1:20 left and 3 time outs in regulation? Also why not give Webb a chance for one series or Ponder?

Even in McNabb’s day with the Eagles he was never an accurate passer. The only thing he had going for him was that he could scramble back then.

Mike, you say berrian was underthrown twice. Okay, sure I’ll give it to you he was. So now if those throws were spot on he’d have 3 catches all year. He is not a number one wr period. Let’s look at the rest of the 31 teams out there and check there #1 or #2 wrs. His stats probably rank last. If our qb play, offense, or play calling don’t fit his strengths than that should solve it. He’s not a good fit for our system. I’m tired of your excuses and fraizers. You want a question, when do we see some coach take responsibility? Frazier always says the players didn’t execute or our offense is a process. Whatever, if it’s our players, replace them. Still good FAs out there.

  55. By chris on Sep 25, 2011 | Reply

Question1, will Mcnabb throw for more yard than any of the the teams QBs we play? If so, what is it that he has to do to do so?

Question2, why does our offense play for the first down and not the TD?

Question3, Do you think we could spread the defense out so when it is a good time to run AP he can actually big plays, (yes he had some big plays this game but still only 78 yards) but still not to impressive for AP against Detroit.

Question4, why can’t we get percy some serious yards, the coaches are just playing around with him by putting him everywhere, kinda smart but (predictable). you should give him the reception he deserves being #1 WR

Last question. will we make it to playoffs? ( i want to hear a H3II yes)

Frazier is a nice man I’m sure but maybe too nice? Maybe we need Bill Parcells or Bill Cowhers a coach that shows emotions, like he is in there playing with the team? Respecting ther players and treating the as adults is good but maybe not handle them with Kid’s Gloves, we need BALANCE!

    Mike w,

The entire fan base can’t be wrong now on Bernard Can’t catch berrian. Randolph had a great catch today that was way off Target, Shiancoe got a pass that was way off Target, berrian video where he spilled easy catches doesn’t lie.

Here is a question for you if berrian is so great why is the NFL not bringing up his name at all as a threat even once.

Enough with the BS Bernard berrian has to go, he is not physical, he drops catches, doesn’t get seperation

  58. By Mike B on Sep 25, 2011 | Reply

It was a class act for Fraizer to thank the fans in the Stadium for supporting the team until the end. The fans were extremely generous to the team today. I had heard a few boos, but didn’t hear what happened at the end of the game or during overtime. I was at the Cards game last year and the chants of Fire Childress were going big time. Farve pulled that game out and got a great ovation. Dome fans are great but I am sure as us bloggers are very frustrated with the current performances.

question 1: who is the main offensive play caller? Musgrave or Frazier? this is important to know who’s head should be rolling right now.

Some time’s a QB just losses that special ability to win a “winner” i have seen it happen to a lot of good QB’s in the past . and i think we have seen it happen to McNABB. So we want the rookie put in NOW not later , it’s apparent that we will be very lucky to make the playoffs. so why not give him the experience now.Frazier’s job could be on the line!

We have the best running back in the game and we only put the ball in his hands 5 times. In order to win these games in the second half you need to put the ball into your play makers hands. Every other team always goes to their best players and the Vikings continue to stray away from our best players. We don’t need to run every down, we just need to give Peterson more touches.

  64. By Chris Burch on Sep 25, 2011 | Reply

Why, when we have the BEST running back in football, do we not run him in the 2nd half? 5 yards?!?!? 3rd and 1, we throw it. 4th and 1, we hand it to someone other than AP. I’m sick of this. Why should we continue supporting the Vikings when nothing is getting fixed?

I am not going to run down our Vikings like some nay saying supposed Vikings Fans out there. Its obvious & clear to me that Minnesota has a oroblem in two areas. First, what are going to do to address getting some people to cover the WR from the opposing teams? Its clear to me, thats the number one area where we are inebt. Second, were having some kind of mental block in not playing for four qrts., because as someone who lives in California, whose a die-hard Vikings, and who only gets to see bits and pieces of games unless there televised, its clear to me that our guys are not doing in the 3rd & 4th qrts, what got them the lead & on top in the 1st & 2nd qrts. I say we need to look into getting more experience & help on D-fense because our corners are cutting falling down when on the most crucial play of the game in OT. Also, our offense needs to be more explosive as in times past which would give us a larger lead going into the erd & 4th qrt. So we need a good WR to compliment the inebtness of Bernard Berrian. All these areas need to be addressed, but i still firmly believe that we have A GOOD TEAM, we just need to tweak certain areas.

  74. By Thai on Sep 25, 2011 | Reply

If berrian is really that good, why don’t we trade him for some draft picks? I’m sure some team needs a deep threat #1 wr that can stretch the field. We could atleast get a first rounder.

Do we go to the locker room at halftime and forget how to play football? If this is really a professional team then I can consider myself to be better than Sanford and Johnson. Oh yeah! WOW– WHY NOT GIVE THE BALL TO YOUR BEST PLAYER, AP? Well, maybe because that is the obvious call and what the defense was expecting– in fact, Detroit played the run so well that I suspect they believed Adrian would get the ball– so to try mix it up with Toby was way smarter than most of you bloggers realize– now, had the Vikes thrown it, that would have been a gutsy call. No matter what– you guys would complain. Think before you scream at the coaches– to play the obvious, AP, may not have been the best option. I wish they would have kicked the field goal and taken the sure points–

I think our cb’s are decent. I think our safeties are nonexistent. I’ve always heard phrases like “safety help” or coverages “overtop.” buy for some reason our safeties leave our cb’s out to dry. Our safeties couldn’t cover berrian. And that says a lot.

    Wobby,

Why didn’t the Vikings make more moves to address the secondary in the offseason? I have seen improvement from Chris Cook and I commend him for covering Johnson as well as he did all day, but where do we go from here? We have no safeties, and our depth at CB is Winfied, and inconsistent Chris Cook, and a Cedric Griffin with 2 torn up knees. I know LB is to blame as well, but teams are killing us in the shallow/middle part of the field. I saw EJ literally chasing down the Lions TE only to see Winfield come in and assist with the tackle. Where are the safeties/playmakers in the secondary?

Hey Mike where does the problem land for our losing 3 straight games with halftime leads? Is it the offense, defense, or the coaches, or all 3?

WTH?….I don’t understand how the Vikings can be so DOMINATE in the first half and be so utterly useless in the second half…this is more than a coaching problem, more than an effort problem…even if the Vikings only played half as well as they did in the first half, they should have won easily…how do the Vikings fix this issue?

  83. By Justin F on Sep 25, 2011 | Reply

Mr. Wobshall, you are right. WE NEED ANSWERS!

My question, everyone disliked the fact that the Vikings gave Toby the ball on that play that was on 4th down (I believe in the 3rd quarter). Why Toby and not Adrian? Even Corey Kove and Mike Morris on KFAN didn’t like the choice. No offense to Toby. He’s a great player. But in a 4 and 1 situation, you have to use Peterson.

  84. By Mt_Viking on Sep 25, 2011 | Reply

I’ve been involved in Foot Ball all my life…..this is defiantly a coaching issue…so until the owners realize it we the fans are stuck with ruined weekends!!!

  85. By Mike B on Sep 25, 2011 | Reply

@dskog Let’s be fair about this Griffin and Cook had Johnson well covered for the long pass with the exception of 2 time which is very good against a blue chip WR. We don’t give up the Long ball that much nor do we give up big runs. The defense is very tough and played tough. The soft middle area is probably the only true weakness in our defense.

Please if you are true Vikings fans, quit whining, quit blamming Mcnabb who is just one player who has done a good job this season, and realize that our problem is on defense. Its the fact that Ziggy Wilf will not open up his wallet and get some quality veterans & free agents as was proven when we had the answer in Brett Favre, and its the fact that due to Rick Spielman not being able to soend money to get the top free agensts leaving us only being able to improve thru the draft is the reasons why OUR consistently good team can’t get over the hump. I don’t care what anyone says, I am a LOYAL VIKINGS fan and I am not going anywhere. I just would like to ask Mr Wilf to questions. First, if the market is not big enough for you to acquire key free-agents, then why not move to a market (L.A.) that will allow us to do so? Second, when is he going to stop getting half of a team, and truly commit to building this team all the way around so we can winn a superbowl? SO NO BLAMMING DONOVAN MCNABB, LESLIE FRAZIER, or anyone in the coaching staff because we can only use whats given to us, and defensively that isn’t much unfortunately. Lets focus on the problem of ownership and the penny pinching that needs to stop. On a final note, one thing thats true, A.D. is to good of a person and player not to have ownership back him up and commit to a winning product out on the field. When is ownership going to commit to winning like our players have? When is ownership going to stop putting a band-aid on things that need a turnickett?

Question: How are the Vikings supposed to win any games when their offense has only ten guys? Is Bernard Berrian still on the team? If so, can someone provide statistical evidence that he should continue to occupy a roster spot? How does one catch in three games represent a productive #1 wide receiver? Second question: Why should anybody watch the Vikings if their coaching staff won’t make the most obvious needed changes, starting with cutting Bernard Berrian?

  89. By Greg on Sep 25, 2011 | Reply

@ Paris, the salary cap wouldn’t allow us to add much in the lines of a top receiver or d-back…Wilf isn’t penny pinching, rules wouldn’t allow him to spend.

WE have a Great team ….They are not being led to VICTORY by the Coach. sorry all…but the blame eventually will land where it belongs ..the decision maker..and his name is COACH FRAZIER!!! @Paris will give you some slack as you didn’t watch the game. The Defense play pretty well this game. The soft middle was still open to the Lions, but the long ball and run were shutdown. 2 exceptions.

Sorry its time to clean house too much mr rogers attitude around the locker room.

  97. By Mike B on Sep 25, 2011 | Reply

@Paris 3 games with 3 second half losses is directly reflected on the coaching. Also players didn’t make plays. So fault can be spread all around.

  98. By CaribooBill - Bridge Lake on Sep 25, 2011 | Reply

Mike – in your response to the criticism of Berrian, you point out that the throws to him were inaccurate, presumably 4 times. Were the throws inaccurate or was the route run incorrectly? If the throws were inaccurate, then the QB has to take responsibility. I have a suggestion for a second half shake-up – put Webb or Ponder in for a series or two. Their ability to scramble may do wonders for shaking up the opposing defense.

first I just want to say that I truly believe the vikings WILL turn this season around..I know it doesn’t look promising when they keep giving up big leads but they have all been against quality teams which the vikings clearly could have easily won…My main question is if you have heard any talks about Mike Singletary and how his presence has been in the locker room? He’s been known to give amazing motivational speeches and could be exactly what the team needs..I’d even go as far as to say why not switch his role with our current defensive coordinator since our D CLEARLY is losing some juice in the second half…Just an Idea….GO VIKINGS!

Brandon– agreed — I was also wondering what Singletary is doing– I know he can get quite hot — opposite of Frazier’ s demeanor. But I believe our D is playing well enough to win games– it is just when our O keeps going three and out in the second half, our D, like most D’s gets worn out. I also agree we will turn this around and get hot in the latter part of the season.

THE COACHES KNEW THIS & CALLED THE PLAYS THAT EXPENDED THE LEAST AMOUNT OF ENERGY IN THE 2nd HALF — INSTEAD OF GIVING IT TO ADRIAN & PLAYING SMASH-MOUTH!!

is there a chance that we trade the eagles for Asante Samuels. I agree with a statement of one of the guys in the upper comments, I think that we go get Randy Moss or Terrell Owens and cut Berrian, and cut Camerrio, for the to Hall of Fame wideouts. And why on 4 and 1 you give Gerhart the ball. Sure he is a big guy but Peterson is way harder to take down to the ground. And FYI McNabb is not the problem i said that last week. Our defense needs to hold the opposing offense till the very start to the very end of the game. If you guys lose to the Chiefs next week i am hanging up my Jerseys for the rest of the season. Another question- if we mere fans can identify our weaknesses I’m sure the coaching staff does too, how long does it take them to take action and fire or bench high paid employees that do not perform? Another question – do premier employees get upset at under performing employees? Another question – who is the bottom line who determines how long an under performing employee gets to keep getting overpaid and draining the team? 4th and 1, 11min left in the 4th quarter. Ball is on the 20yd yard line. 3pt lead. WHY DIDNT WE KICK THE FIELD GOAL!!! when your team is struggling at the end of games, you take points when you can get them. Would’ve won that game if they did…

Its time to see if Ponder is the future, the Players if watched in the second half, keep staring at McNabb after every shorthopped pass! How long will this continue until Coach Frazier makes THE DECISION? Or is he just to nice? Does he not want to hurt McNabs feelings? Hey, McNabb got over it after he found out they wanted Tyler Thigpen first, didnt he? Maybe thats why he is doing the awful passing now?

Thats like giving the ball to derek fisher and not kobe bryant in the clutch. but this is our coaching staff

  183. By rye on Sep 26, 2011 | Reply

Mcnabb is not accurate. He has missed open receivers multiple times during the last few weeks and is a MAJOR contributing factor as to why the vikings “are not making plays”.

At 0-3, would it be better to start Ponder who was drafted to be the future of the Vikings and who was known for his accuracy in college?

Baltimore Ravens and Torry Smith are a PERFECT example of good young players on the bench who just arent given the opportunity to show what they can do. It took Lee Evans getting hurt to discover this super star in the making. With that being said, WHO KNOWS what WE have hiding on the bench. Give the young guys who show potential a chance!

It seems to me that the growing concern I’ve had is still present. Last year we have had problems at the safety position. From looking at all three games it seems like that is the spot that everybody is picking on. No help over the top and the middle always seems to be open. So let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Are there any plans to acquire a safeties that can actually play their position? I will however give Sanford credit, his run defense is better but we are way too open in the middle of the field on longer plays.

I know it seems that everyone wants to know why we a blowing these leads, but when the defensive coordinators see how vulnerable in the first half, it is like a “wet dream” for a comeback in the second half. Why don’t we allow people to think that we are doing the same thing and then the second half cover this issue? Until they figure out what we are doing, it will be late in the 4th quarter and then it will be too late. It seems that they already know our weak spot, why don’t we use that too our advantage?

IMO … Every coach deserves 2 years minimum, you find the start in year 1 and look for improvement afterwards

If Frazier manages 6 wins with this team Id say he did ok … but less than 6 wins just gets a better draft pick , possibly the next Gary Zimmerman

Remember Chilly started 6-10 then 8-8 then 10-6 / wild card loss then 11-5 Championship game … if I remember right

I’m tired of supporting the suck Vikings the DC is stupid like c’mon who gives one on one to C johnson since when did we have a shut down corner our corners probably wouldn’t start anywhere else but the Vikings. And I’m starting to think Frazier is an idiot 1. he’s starting BB who can’t get open and only have one catch in three games 2. he’s to soft to be a HC he’s busy trying to be like Tony Dungy the difference is he can’t win a game 3. what kind of head coach sayshe feels good in the direction his team is heading after losing a game do he not notice our record were 0&3 any other HC would be mad right now he speaks as if he’s confused. Our DB are terrible, BB is terrible DC is stupid, OC is not aggressive why don’t we let singleterry be out DC. Being a Vikings fan is hard we have the worst front office, coaching staff, and the wrong players starting in certain positions. This year might end up worst than last year if we knew se was playing for the 1st overall pick why did we draft Ponder when Luck would be available why didn’t we go after a CB why is BB still starting why haven’t we figured out who our starting safety is why is AP not getting 20 or more carries. Really tired of this embarrassing team.

We can all see that the QB positon on this team is the weak link; of all the completions I would guess over half of them required the reciever to make a great catch because it is either behind them, over their head of near the turf. I think after week 5 the Ponder era must begin. What do you think? Also this team can cover up many weaknesses if they do what they are good at; Running the ball with AP. It is unacceptable for AP to have 5 touches in the second half; and most of those were on second down, after an incompletion setting the offense up for failure. Who cares if they have 8-9 in the box; ram it down the opposing teams throat and say YES we are going to run the ball see if you can stop us. If we did this we would be 3-0. Part of being a good coach is knowing your strengths and weaknesses and gameplanning around them!

Where do you think the Vikings improved the most this past offseason? We were 6-10 last year, so are we a better team? We list a good tackle and his replacement is inept. We lost 2 good d linemen and no good additions. We lost Sidney rice and replaced him with Jenkins. We lost madieu and no new replacement. We lost leber and no new replacement. We lost favre and replaced him with mcnabb. Where did we really improve? Is 0-3 that really of a surprise. We have too much money tied up in underperforming players. Changes need to be made and if they’re not made than it’s the coaches fault.

I have a question for Leslie…. How can you stand up in a press conference, and tell us fans that our QB play isn’t a problem? I’m not a Berrian fan as many aren’t but even he can’t be blamed for QB inaccuracy. Also, what made you decide to keep pulling out Adrian? Adrian IS our best chance, and if you can’t see that (same applies for Percy) then how can you call yourself a coach? IF you actually don’t feel this way and different things go on behind closed doors as we’ve been told, then at least don’t degrade us fans by lying to us about where it is our biggest problems are.

After watching the 1st 3 games, yes SD on the road was a hard game to win, & the home opener was hard to tell also, BUT with this one its plain to see that coaching is part of the problem. The gameplan for the 1st three must be good. Its not all McNabb’s problem in the 2nd halfs of these games. The halftime & in-game coaching is the problem. YOU GUYS ARE BEING OUTCOACHED !!! At 0-3 w/ GB & DET 3-0 its time to make a change split time at the QB position. THE GOAL IS TO WIN A SUPERBOWL ! — If you want still want a shot next year with Huch, & the other vets, ITS TIME TO GET PONDER & WEBB IN THERE !!! — MaNabb had his chances at the ring, he will NEVER get there again. I’m from Texas played, coached, & know football. Its in our blood ! — At draft-time I said, ” OL 1st & hope Ponder is their for the 2nd, are move up. ” — ITS TIME TO GET PONDER READY FOR NEXT YEAR, REMEMBER WHAT THE GOAL IS !!!

Why won’t they sho any emotion, us fans are screaming mad, Peterson and Allen are screaming mad and playing like they want to win! Will Frazier not look at this game and see how inaccurate Mcnabb is? If he threw the ball where is should’ve been Percy would’ve have TD in the first half instead he had to make a difficult catch for 1st dwn, overthrown to Berrian in the endzone to WIN the game. Will Frazier even ponder Ponder or is the 2011 year for us? NO more nicieties it is time to get ANGRY!!!

The defense played exemplary, they made Detroit look silly in the first half–amazing. The Vikes have looked like the old Vikes in the first half in all three games of the season. I see the frustration from the defense’s perspective when the offense can only put three points on the board in thirty minutes. The Vikes will set an NFL record next weekend if it happens again, no team leading by 10 points or more in the first half and then losing. Hopefully, we won’t set that record.

I have a question for you. When are you and the orginization going to ask and answer the tough questions? For example why cahnge a defsive game plan that worked in the first half? Why are you not throwing more on first down in thwe second half? Whay did you hire an OC that helped John Fox get kicked out of Carolina and who then failed in Jacksinville? This team has talent. I will not fill bad for Fraiser when he is fired at the end of the year. It was he that appointed that clue less OC.

    * First Defense on field way to long..need to get off field faster
    * second.. We can not convert 3rd downs
    * Third penalties are well..an issue
    * Forth..and was wundering bout it when we signed him..Mc Nabb is known for the Rush Limbaugh comment then a successful quarterback..
    * and Last but not least we as a Viking team seemed to have lost our “FARVE”..which is a no-quite attitude!! man who would of though that I feel Favre is missed so much by his efforts and mojo..then even his playing!..case dissmissed!..sincely Scott

I don’t think McNabb has been that awful. Our play calling has been the killer. Someone already mentioned that 3rd and 1 call. AP only had 5 yrds in the 2nd half. that’s not ok. the defense is playing pretty well. calvin johnson is obviously just a freak of nature but the D has held in check pretty explosive SD and TB. so what is the offense planning on doing to finish games. more specifically (although i love ryan longwell) how do they plan on turning all these FG into TD?

Simply not getting the first downs is the biggest and only problem. Penalties to but if we could have scored just one TD in the second half of all three games we,d be 3-0. Its the first down people. Honestly our team as a whole played very well, look at all the newer players who stepped up Robison, Sherrels, Cook, Booker. Nobodys mentioning that because these kind of losses overshadow how good our TEAM played as a Unit. No turnovers. Im telling you we are the best 0-3 team out there

Where is the dynamic play with harvin? How could you let a TE beats you down which set up throwns to MEGATRON? Where is our third down guy(it used to be Chestor, and guess what he is very effective on screen play)? The offense in the second is so dull that almost every play is predicatable.

I say we should go and ask Randy Moss nicely to come and play a third time for us and trade berrian for some draft picks and a wide receiver or Mr. Samules from the Eagles. I also think we should try Winfield at safety for at least 4 or 5 games and have allen and cook at starting corners and bring marcus in as our nickelback. We should also get percy more plays on offense like 80% of the plays. Hey Lesile F and Mike Singletary u two should go and ask your coach from the 1986 Super Bowl game Mike Ditka and see if he has a few pointers for u and get the vikes to get on a winning streak and make it into the playoff and make it to the Super Bowl and win it this year that will shut the media up about sending the Vikes to L.A. Lesile start Ballard in at DE and have Webb play some plays at WR. Why dont u put both Harvin and Booker both back on kickreturn that give the other teams to think twice about kicking it deep. The vikings need to throw away all the plays they use in the second half because they do not work. Look at the first halves of all three games and develop a game plan that works. This is going to be a long year filled with BS each Monday.

I saw this from home! No audible? QB has to be able to read that and change play. coaches cant see that from the sideline. If coaching staff is not confident that QB can change play why have him in at all.

    3. Admit publicly that this is a rebuilding year. The MN fans will be much more supportive as a whole. We ARE the most understanding/patient fans in the NFL!
In conclusion, Please, Please, Please bench McNabb. His moral is terrible. He demostrates NO passion. Bret Favre didn’t do that great his last year, but he gave it all of what he had left.

First, I was very upset when the Vikes signed McNabb and its obvious he is finished. The one time Berrian got open yesterday McNabb overthrew him and it should have been a touchdown. Brett Favre at quarterback we would be 3-0, that dude brings his whole every game. Second, Frazier and Musgrave are horrible. The calls they make don’t even make sense. Why give AP $100 million and not give him the ball on a fourth and one? Thirdly, why is it so impossible for our defense to cover the middle of the field? The second half yesterday Pettigrew destroyed E.J. and our safeties. This season has been very disgusting so far but shows signs of greatness as well. Just trying to prove a point that Mcnabb is not our guarterback, Frazier is saying he won’t pull him out. The accuracy of his throws are way off the mark, he does need to be put on the bench, I agree. Just trying for a middle ground. When the coaches lose their jobs, they will be wishing they would have put Mcnabb on the bench.

Mike – Both the Bengal’s and the Panther’s have rookie quarterbacks and even they have one victory already this season . Why do the Vikings feel the need to keep McNabb starting when realistically they know given the division that they play in that we will not see the playoffs this year? Why not give the Viking fans what they ask for start Ponder what is the worst that can happen we could be 0-3 , oh wait my bad we are 0-3. Do you think it would be a good idea to hire some consultants like maybe a Brian Billick for the offense and maybe Tony Dungy on defense just long enough to right the ship?

Rite. AP should be the one who gets the ball on 4th and 1 but they chose Gerhert over AP. Man he is the best running back in the league! If AP would have the ball on 4th and 1, we might have won the game. but it wasn’t meant to be i guess. bettur luck next time.

  250. By CALVIKING on Sep 26, 2011 | Reply

REGARDING THE 4TH AND 1; FOR THOSE WHO MIGHT REMEMBER LAST SEASON, ON THE GOAL LINE, A FEW SECONDS LEFT IN THE GAME, LESS THAN 7 POINTS DOWN, WE HANDED IT OFF TO ADRIAN PETERSON TO WIN THE GAME, AND DOLPHINS LINEBACKER CARLOS DANSBY STUFFED PETERSON, GAME OVER!!

THAT’S WHY ELEMENT OF SURPRISE IS SO IMPORTANT. I UNDERSTAND WHY THEY GAVE THE CARRY TO GEHRHARDT, BUT I WOULDN’T DO IT AGAIN; ITS ALWAYS BETTER TO HAVE THE DEFENSE IN AN ELEMENT OF DOUBT AS TO EXACTLY WHAT PLAY WE WILL RUN. IF HARVIN IS IN, WE COULD FAKE TO ADRIAN TO QUICK PASS TO HARVIN; HE HAS A HABIT OF TURNING THOSE INTO SCORES.

THOUGH DISAPPOINTED, I AM A FANATICAL VIKINGS FAN. WE MUST STOMP THE CHIEFS IN THEIR OWN STADIUM.

DEFENSE AND SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYED QUITE WELL, BUT OFFENSE NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO CONVERT ON 3RD DOWNS, AND MUST BE ABLE TO PUT POINTS ON THE BOARD IN SECOND HALF, NOT JUST 3.

8 NFL GAMES THIS WEEKEND WERE COME FROM BEHIND GAMES. IT HAPPENS WITH RULES FAVORING THE OFFENSE. NFL DOESN’T FAVOR DEFENSES.

I BELIEVE VIKES WILL TURN IT AROUND. HOPEFULLY THIS WEEK.

Its sad when, as a fan, you have a feeling like we wont convert the 3rd down everytime we’re faced with anything beyond 3rd and 2. smh

  253. By BEE on Sep 27, 2011 | Reply

i really would of preferred they just kicked the field goal instead of going for it against the lions. when we got towards the end of the game you realize how big those 3 points would of been. when you talk about protecting a lead, you need to take the points you can get. that being said i still have a lot of hope for this team. there’s loads of talent here and i gotta say i’m loving watching kleiny pancake defenders all game. keep the faith vikings fans, i don’t expect our guys to roll over and die just yet!! go vikings!

whats it gonna take 0/6 before there’s a shake up on this team ? I said it when I heard the news they signed mcnabb that this team has no intension of a winning season. So ponder has to sit and learn how to win from a constant loser thats real smart?

Mike W. My question is why is Rick Speilman still employed with the vikings. He has had 3 and possibilty4 bad drafts in a row.The best way for the vikings to improve and become contenders in the future is the draft.do you feel Speilman is up to the task? I think we have a good owner good head coach and a lousy G.M.

How can you possibly call a play for one yard gain and not give the ball to Adrian.

  257. By Ken on Sep 27, 2011 | Reply

    1. The organization HAS TO build the team around AP. He is THE most talented RB in the whole league!
    2. BENCH, BENCH, BENCH McNabb! He is by far the over-rated QB in the league. Grossman did far better for Washington last night than McNabb has done all season.
    3. Let’s get some solid, aggressive and enthusiastic Offensive Lineman!
In Conclusion, AP, will ask to be traded in a couple years max. if they don’t wake up and get him the supporting team of blockers he needs! We love ya AP!

stay at the hilton when its a homegame and watch the coach and staff and players leaving at different times. as late as after 10am on gameday. i know its close – but surely they have alot of things to do on GAMEDAY – :( really dissappointed to see that happen. and then to top that off sat night saw some guy come in at the hotel real late driving a ferrari red… dont quote me on it but think it was 92 remi – only guy on roster has mowhawk haircut …. someone has no control of the team. they are good and could be contenders – to me looking from outside just be actions at hotel something isnt right. i wish i had a link to staff to ask them these questions…

Send McNabb and Berrian to practice squad or trade them for someone with good pass coverage on defense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ponder our next runner and QB, Webb PR and WR.

Vikings are done and coach hasnt done anything same old problems as last year no wide receiver cause sidney was hurt most of the year and o-line couldnt stop me from getting a sack every time we try to pass the ball and defense couldnt stop a pass if it hit them in the face and even if we did kick a field goal we all now the lions would have just scored a td instead of a field goal at the end we wont win 6 games all year and this is there last year then its la vikings

All you Viking fans out there saying that McNabb is past his prime should zip it. I have also seen someone saying that we should cut Loadholt should zip it too. Also saying firing Bill Musgrave should also zip it as well its only the beginning of the the season and everyony should chillaxe alright. I say we should go out and bring the Super Freak Randy Moss back and see if we could try to trade Berrian for some draft picks and a receiver from another team. We should get Percy involved in about 80% of the plays and use him and Lerenzo both back on kickreturn. The Vikings should put Winfield at safety for at least 5 or 6 games. They should also have Griffen and Cook start at the corners and use Sherels at nickel or Allen. We should also start Ballard at left DE. They sholud also try Webb at receiver for a fewer plays as well. If we keep playing well in the first half and lets carry it over to the second half and let All Day AP carry the ball more in the second half as well as the first half. We should also try to do some trick plays that I know that Mr. Musgrave has up his sleeves. Mr. Singletary try to blitz Erin Henderson on third downs and have his brother cover the guy that Erin i suppose to gaurd and also send the safety on the same side as Erin is on and have thet other safety drop back a little than double team the nearest receiver. We should try to run some of the Defensive plays that Coach Ditka had you guys run in the 1986 Super Bowl season. SKOL Vikings Lets GO.

All you haters on McNabb and for what. This guy is a winner and he has put us in a position to win all 3 games this year. The defense is giving up to many big plays in the 2nd half to sustain the leads given to them in the 1st half. McNabb has only one turnover and that can from a deflected pass attempt. What the viking need to do is put the ball into McNabb hands and let him lead this team not manage. This guy is still an elite QB in this league and may I remind you; he is the 2nd actively winnest QB in the league now. I here you talk about his inaccurate throws but sometime he places the ball in place to protect his receivers from taking big spots. Before you make critical comments about someone performance please learn the game.

This is late and no one will read this BUT,
    1) I would give McNabb a few more games to get in sync with team.
    2) Release or trade of B. Berrian (his record in the PAST and now) shows a need for replacement. Period, HIS poor play is dragging down the team.
3)THE COMPLETE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF THE OFFENSIVE LINE. They dont want to block.
4)All of these have been whined about since the draft. We are going into the fourth game. Mr. Frazier,,, at what time do these game become “MUST WIN!”? Its your team, your decisions, ALL of OUR wins and LOSES.
    To ME:
    THEY ARE ALL MUST WIN!!
