Submit Your Monday Morning Mailbag Questions

Posted by Mike Wobschall on September 18, 2011 – 8:12 pm

Although it’s short notice, something tells me you won’t hesitate to send in your Monday Morning Mailbag questions. The Vikings dropped their home opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon and this week they’ll prepare to host the high-flying Detroit Lions.

Let’s try not to make this an open forum to complain about things. Submit your questions and we’ll post several of them in the Monday Morning Mailbag.

To submit a comment or question, send an email to me at wobschallm@vikings.nfl.net. You can also submit your comment or question in the comments section below this entry.

Remember to include your name and town on the comment/email. We can’t post every comment/question, but we’ll try to answer each question.

Any chance we look for a WR? Has the front office realized there is more to the WR position than a guy that likes catering?

These past two games were tough to take for Vikings Fans.

Please remember that there are 14 games left.

It’s still possible to have a decent season yet.

Stay positive among all the negative people that try to get you down.

It’s hard to believe what has happened. Not fun.

But there is Webb/Ponder, and Marcus Sherels.

they can find some help there as well.

There is still a chance that the Vikings will make a big deal to turn around this team.

We could be like the Giants a few years ago, who lost most of their early games but turned it around to make the playoffs.

Yet…the game is played in the trenches, even at the NFL level, and our DL hasn’t looked good either.

Mike why are the vikes so conservative in 2nd half do they get too comfortable with the lead? I understand ap was running like a beast but why does this offense just get stagnant in the 2nd half what is it? do you think players don’t trust in themselves to seal off a victory. It was 17-0 if it was the pats or any other team in football it would have been a 99percent victory. This has got to be a coaching problem. The reason I say that is he doesn’t get this team prepared to play the whole 4 quarters seems like they get flabbergasted after half time. Its a conditioning thing someones got to clean this mess up these guys are aired out seems like it.

  24. By chrisbergq on Sep 18, 2011 | Reply

We have the RB position under control what other part of the team is playoff ready OL DL LB S CB WR QB none of them were do we start getting better.

@Mike Wobs … Are we still an organization focused on the feelings of the caterer or will we place more focus on winning?

  26. By Frederick Jones on Sep 18, 2011 | Reply

    @Shawn,

Yeah, I was also thinking about their youth. Most of the Defensive Halfbacks are young. We actually have a lot of youth at most positions.

It’s hard to believe both offensive linemen drafted are on the practice squad.

Are we poor at picking talent? Poor decisions on which positions to build through the draft? I tend to think so right now.

  27. By Don on Sep 18, 2011 | Reply

And fan can we please stop with..that this is a rebuilding year that is a lie..if so why do we have mcnabb on the team..you don’t rebuild your team around him..and ok what if we do win a superbowl what next year..or when he gets beat up like farve..we need ponder in and rebuild around that..why draft him so high to sit..

  28. By Frederick Jones on Sep 18, 2011 | Reply

    @Shawn,

The Vikings did throw up field a few times this game. But I did not see any bombs. Berrian seems to be covered a lot. There were zero crossing patterns, which is what Berrian did well last year. Why put him in the game
    if he never gets open.

I was a Berrian backer, but no more.

I live outside of Philly and have watched McNabb for years in his best years. He is not half of what he use to be. How long till they go to Ponder?…They won’t do any better or worse with Ponder and he has some upside. Just heard Peter King say Frazier does not see this as a McNabb problem. Ok how long till they replace Ponder and Frazier?

Can someone please explain to me the rationale used by the Vikings not to use any of their three time outs at the end of the game? Tampa got a first down at the Vikings 4 yard line with 1:17 to go in the game. They couldn’t get a first down, and I believe they had all of their time outs. So more than likely they are going to tie the game up or go ahead. The Vikings would have had at least 1:10 left and two time outs. It makes no sense to me not to use the time out. I think this coaching staff doesn’t think quickly or clearly and is over-matched during the game. It seems that they have a good game plan to start the game but when the two teams go in at half time, the Vikings are out-coached in the second half. The fact that the game ended with the Vikings having three time-outs, verifies that they don’t really have a grasp of the game.

  37. By Brad on Sep 18, 2011 | Reply

@Mike Wobs…I am sure everyone is wondering the same questions as this, plus probably more. My questions are-Do you know if coach is going to do something about this team and their second half playing? If so, What is he going to do to help them improve so they play the same through all four quarters? Also, is the team going to improve the OL or are they just going to keep it the way it is and let the QB(s) run for his life?

  38. By Eric on Sep 18, 2011 | Reply

    Hi Mike,
OL needs help. Loadholt is a bust. Johnson is inadequate. McNabb needs to work on his accuracy, lose weight and learn the play book. Give Berrian a one way ticket to Los Vegas. Vikings need help at DT. The line backers played better this week, they should only blitz one LB at a time. The DB’s held their for two weeks now. They have not been getting help from the rest of the team!

The Vikings may have cardio conditioning, but do they have muscular endurance? Do they have mental toughness? Go Vikings.

Again we let Tampa back into the game and it’s due to a combination of big play and dinging us in our secondary. The offense didn’t come back in the second half with the intensity of the first half. At issue is no deep threat receiver and a poor secondary. Fraizer needs to get fired up too.

Finally got settled down in the room here. Gathering thoughts about the game. First off the team played better than last week. The weak spots pointed out last week are still weak spots. The OLine played much better. The WR are not scaring anyone. There is no deep threat on the team. The running game was working, so the middle of the field pass was working. We need a deep threat WR, now. The secondary of the defense is way to soft. We need CBs that can play not young prospects. That’s what the practice squad is for. I think we are wasting time with Cook and Allen. I also I think that Griffin maybe rushing back to early into the starting line up. WR and CB need to be addressed right away. We will be better next week with Kevin W coming back. I would also consider looking at getting Pat W back here for 1 and 2 downs. There is a coaching issue here not getting the team ready for the second half. It was tough to listen to it on the radio and I bet it was tougher watching it. Take care all

Something has to be wrong with your “deep threat” receiver catching only one pass. I am thinking that there is a confidence issue either getting to Berrian or if Berrian will be able to catch it. I can’t see us winning without the ability to get the ball deep a few times a game and be successful half the time with the deep ball.

I have to admit that this Childress like double talk and not pointing out true weakness of the team is getting old. Mike Morris pointed out in his radio show is the weak secondary that is a definate issue on today’s loss. Tampa’ s big plays came from that. Someone in the coaching staff or personel needs to step up and say hey this isn’t working and we need to change somethings.

Our Coach is more lame then the last one. He manages to chase the bear into the cave and then leaves the dogs and rides off with the shotgun. He manages great offensive and defensive schemes in the first half but never changes them when the other team figures them out. Pathetic. Moving to L.A. may finally be my excuse to quit my 44 year loyalty.

Mike W– please no articles this week about how we played great in an area if you just analyze hard enough and throw out the final score. No one is in the mood. I am not giving up on the season, but when will tough disciplined action be taken to tackle mediocrity? We need a spirit of excellence– and that only happens when the WHOLE organization is excellent– not this, ok, it works, it’s good enough. I was born in an eastern state and I have always sensed the whole state of MN just gets by– it’s in the air, it’s spiritual.

MIKE W– the excellence can start with you– use the leverage of the written word to evoke change. Please, we do not want to see a headline tomorrow– Defense actually played quiet well.

We all want the Vikings to suceed, but I’m worried that since the legislation is probably going to look at the issue in October, the Vikings may struggle rather bad through week 8 and the legislation may deem the Vikings undeserving of a stadium.

My parents told me that when football was on that I would say I want the purple guys to win and if they where not on tv I would ask where are the purple guys cause I was to young to know there name. But I have routed for them thru thick and thin.I said back when they said that Travaris Jackson was the next McNabb that I didn’t want the first one. Then there were talks about us getting McNabb and I told everybody I would not route for the Vikings if he was the QB. Please bench his sorry ass so I have a team to route for. I don’t care if it’s Webb or Ponder or some crack head off the street. I live in Harrisburg PA and all the Eagles fans are saying to me now you have to deal with him. He is a sorry QB and a choker. Oh yea and he throws up in the superbowl . Last week first pass int. and 39 yards passing what a joke. This decision to get him makes me sicker than that horrible decision to get Hershle Walker! I have all kinds of Vikings shirts including a Fran Tarkington throwback jersey that I can’t wear, so if your going to keep him in there please don’t keep him for next year. I feel like I have to put a bag over my face at work cause everybody knows how big a fan I am. the only thing saving me from doing that is that I said I would not route for the Vikings with him as QB. PLEASE BENCH HIM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only game that made me more upset than today’s was the NFC championship game. I dont care if we have new guys or vets, every team has them. There has to be accountability across the board. The patriots once sucked, the colts once sucked, the saints once sucked… what im saying is that there is no such thing as a losing culture or bad luck. We need a QB to take this team on his shoulders and carry them to the big game. You cannot win a championship with out an elite QB. Tom Brady makes his receivers better not because they are amazing WRs but because he leads them. We, The Vikings, will not win a SB until we have our own QB to lead us. I love AP to death but he alone cannot carry this team.

  215. By Tom on Sep 18, 2011 | Reply

Vikes don’t have the killer instinct to blow out teams. When they get a lead they become complacent. I agree we need a better offensive line especially with the current tackles we have. just checked on nfl.com Percy is 68th in receiving yards and he is our number 1. Percy is too good not to be utilized.
Bradford, Sanchez, Stafford, Newton, Ryan, Flacco, Freeman, are playing well why not Ponder? These old guys need to realize that times have changed and it aint the 70s anymore you dont need to sit for a couple seasons to be productive. Running the ball is not enough.

  226. By Larson on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

Guys think about it. First half we played great. Second half we played horrible. Now think about it. Kevin Willams is suspended, and now its easier for the last 2 teams to double jared allen, and robinson since kevin is not there. Now, if you put kevin willams back in the line, they won’t be doubling team jared or robinson, each one of them will have 1 and 1. I bet jared will have more opportunity to touch phillpis, and freeman. The problem was kevin is supsended. The chances for their offense lineman made it look easy because our DE got doubled team. Our nose tackle is a rookie and is an average player that is taking over for kevin willams. Now if you look at the second half with kevin willams, they wont score. They will throw the ball more than they run on us. Also Chris Cook has not played as much as he used to, Standford played more downs than Chris Cook, for some reason he is possiblity injured or something is bothering him. Give the vikings chance, I can predict the team will be better with Kevin Willams back in the game. It sucks to watch both games to lose and blamed on our defense line without knowing it is not our real straing defense line.. We forgot kevin willams, hes the key. Watch next week against Lion, itll be a difference story. Vikings 24-7 next sunday.

  227. By Sir Greasy Panda on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

Kevin williams was not the reason we kicked two field goals instead of two touch downs. with the domination the defense had in the first half we should’ve scored more. 46 yards??? even with Kevin Williams the offense cant ask for more than that.

  228. By Larson on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

Well I am a Vikings expert and I’ve been Vikings fan since I was 5 years old. I know the differences. We have been out poured by their rushing agains tour D-Line because they figured which position is weak and they saw our DT were the weakest one is how they got their running back 2 touchdown. Blount hit our DT twice that got him 2 TD. If you look at the video, its our DT that made bad play. If Kevin is there, there wouldn’t be a 2 td. Itll be a wall again.

  229. By Billy on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

That is 2 weeks in a row the other team makes adjustments and we can not handle it. That falls on the coaching because we show we have the talent. Do they not relise the other team will come out doing things different. The viking coaches must be a step ahead not behind. Very very disapointing. Or is it McNab just don’t have it anymore. If we lose to the Lions next week the chance of making the playoffs is slim. Lets get our young quarterbacks in and our young O line guys and start building for the future with a nother good draft and most of the year for Ponder to get his feet wet we could be real good next year.

  230. By Larson on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

When I saw Ed Griffen played for Brian Robinson, he had a easy sack. The way I looked, the coach is frustrated with Brian Robinson and put Ed Griffen in DE and put Evans in DT. Coach keep moving Ed Griffen to find spot to make plays. Its because our DT is weak and our DE got choked. If we got kevin back in game in DT, Jared on Right DE, and Ed Griffen on LE, guarantee the running yards will be less than 100. Our Linebackers has been doing the work and they get tired easily because they run and hit punching bags than the D-line does. Our D- Back got bored running with their WRS when their QB never throw anything but runnin the game. Then surprisly starting to throw again. It get them complicated. I was a former QB for highschool and I can see how it works. I dont blame McNabb. I am White and I have no comments about him as quite yet. lol

  232. By Larson on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

AP will have 2 td. McNabb will at least have a touchdown pass, and 1 kick return touchdown. They will be choked with our starting defense line.

  233. By Larson on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

To tell you the truth I dont want Ponder to be in the game for at least 4 more weeks. I dont want Ponder to end up the same way Stafford did last year. He was 1st round pick and became a starter for the lions on his first year. He got hurt on his 2nd game with a shoulder injury. U want Ponder to end up like him and get hurt for the rest of the season and go 0-16 like the lions did? No, Let McNabb get hit, get hurt, get punched, end his legacy and give more time for Ponder to learn the punching bags before he gets to start.

  234. By Larson on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

Plus Musgrave’s offense plays is lot different than the vikings used to have their offense. Its like the whole offense lineman is a rookie because they never played that kinda offense. Let me tell you what happen. I played Madden I know its just a game but tell u what though, I played a QB for the vikings for 5 years and I had 4 superbowl out of them cause Im used to their offense plays and then I asked for trade to the atlanta falcons where musgrave is at. I had 24 interceptions, highest career because his offense is soo complicated where I dont get it. Why these plays and he is obessed with deep throws and their all picks. The one I played with the vikings, i have more slot routes, quick slant, and te route. Musgrave limit my passing game and made my game to hard. I can see why vikings offense is struggling.

Will the Vikings make any changes in the way they run plays in the second Half of games? lets not be to conservative, good teams like the Patriots take chances.

  243. By Mike on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

What’s going on with the Vikings with these second half losses? Why is our defensive and offensive coach calling so much conservative plays in the second half? When is our coach going to realize berrian is not who they think he is, in two games he only have one catch for 17 yards what type of number one receiver is he. Frazier needs to start coaching and stop being soft and clueless that’s what got chilly out of here and the losing won’t get us nowhere were the worst team in our conference.

Tyrell Johnson is a bust I don’t know why he even get on the field BB won’t start anywhere else but the Vikings were known for starting washed up players and giving big money to the wrong players and ever since Culpepper we haven’t had a QB who was successful for more than a season, we went from having one of the top offenses in the league to one of the worst. Our left tackle can’t block and get abused on the field our center is weak we should have never let Matt Birk go without a good replacement. WR I would rather see Moss come out of retirement instead of BB running sloppy routes remember Percy was at his best when Moss wad around its clear that we need another receiver to the fans but the coaches seem to not notice it. Cut BB, Asher Allen, tyrell Johnson, Camerilo, move Gerhert to FB, activate brandon burton, mistral reymond, king, give aromashodu play time and bring back Moss.

@ Shawn Dude, great comments on Berrian. LOL One, did really catch my thought process though. What team, any team? not just GB. Would any team allow Berrian to a level of their practice squad. My answer is NONE, NO, absolutely not. and he is a starter for us?

why do we say every game that we will take shots deep to berrian but we never do

  254. By martin on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

i still think the vikings played as well as they can play the last 2 games…it is not an effort issue but a pure talent issue….average teams in all sport can look great for half a game or even for a whole game but they revert back to their talent level in the second half of a game or the next game…

  255. By Can you draft a coach? on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

Maybe Frasier should be a wideout and Berrian should coach…….neither could do any worse.

Mike, could we summarize a few key issues that are leading to these losses 2 weeks in a row? I saw several areas, as most others have too. But could we simply identify the key areas beyond play execution that are causing us to lose such a commanding lead?

  257. By Can you draft a coach? on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

I love the comment..I thought we would get a turnover that is why I didn’t use a timeout. Hahaha statiscally we had better odds of the ceiling falling in and landing on Josh Freeman.

Why is Berrian still in the NFL?

  259. By tunamoose on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

OLD MULTI-TEAM QUARTER BACKS ARE NOT THE ANSWER. We have a history of preferring old quarter backs that their former teams did not want. Cunningham, Moon, Johnson, FaRve (on purpose), and now McNaab. Lets get a little familiarity in the offense at THE MOST CRITICAL POSITION.

  260. By Can you draft a coach? on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

I love Brett Favre. But I certainly agree. I hope Ponder can be the answer.

Winning teams have one thing in common-a solid long term QB.

  261. By tunamoose on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

Let the young guy throw for 39 yards in the first game. Let the new guy develop with the offense. If They play McNaab this year and start Webb or Ponder next, then we do this all over.

I think when K.W. gets back our D-line will be back to our bone crushing qb sacking run stuffing selves , on offense we should get , need a WR named Randy, cause right now he’s angry ,hungry for redemption ! and we need to start sending our receivers across the middle so to open the field up for Percy ,Shank,Kyle,& AP ,Toby then we can really see and judge what Mc Nabb has left ???????????? COME ON VIKES GO , ESPECIALLY in the 2nd half!

  266. By Can you draft a coach? on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

Can your 5 year old catch a ball…….cause Berrian can’t.
Can he get open? cause our receivers can’t.
Does he know what a timeout is? Cause our coaches don’t.
So much wasted talent on this team.

  267. By Can you draft a coach? on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

The problem starts with the Coaching. We have the staff to win (minus Berrian) we just don’t have sound play calling.

I think a lot of you are going overboard with fire the coach thing, just 3 weeks ago all was cool with the coaching staff, now 2 loses later you want to fire all of them, come on people! the problem is the players.

  272. By Jeffbleedspurple on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

1st) Time outs don’t win games, 2nd) whatever play is called, our professional players should execute those plays, regardless of whats being called. with players that are executing the play calls can make even the most stupid of plays look good.

@Meekay: My thoughts exactly, who knows, with our starters appearing to be burnt out in the start of the 2nd half, the 2nd team just may give more effort, sounds good to me.

This box wont fit all the negative comments i have to say. Someone needs get in the face of B.B. and snap him out of his slumber. But it looks like we dont have a coaching staff with a solid backbone. We need Bill Cower. Until this is fixed I will be relentless and ruthless like a Viking should be.Or we should just change our name to the Minnesota Yellowbellies. what i’ve seen so far doesnt look like any type of Viking, Mentally or physically. Why be called the Vikings if your not gonna live up to it.

These athletes and coaches get paid very well. No fan cares if we hurt your feelings. Its Business right ! Your pros now deal with it.The fans are not happy and rightfuly so. These types of losses are the worst kind. Fix it now. The coaching staff needs to be harder on players that arent performing. Owners need to fire up the coaching staff. or find a head coach that can motivate his players better. Theres just no fight in us. Its very sad to watch.Emotionless coaches drive me crazy. childress all over again.

The Vikes need a new strength and conditioning coach who knows the value of cardio training. It’s simple to see that our guy’s run out of gas before their opponent. Hey maybe we should try to get the league to change the game to run only two quarters. Then we might be able to win a few games.

  284. By Rocksalt on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

they need to practice hitting and tackling……..

  285. By Larry King on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

The players who played the whole game were Adrian Peterson, Jared Allen, and one of the smallest guy’s on the field Antoine Winfield. You also have to assume that these three are the only players that do enough cardio training to play an entire game.

  286. By FireFrazier on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

I say, if we do end up losing next week like many of us believe, then just Have McNabb in for the year. Ponder needs this year to become truly healthy from the back to back to back injuries he suffered the last two years of his collage career. if we’re going to lose, then lets do it now, so we can get a great spot in the up coming draft. That is the only positive I can think of for this season.

  287. By klwedge on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

If we dont bench Mcnabb we r lost.Keep lettin your team down an the fans even the other players. How long will that last for you?You drafted Pounder for a reason right?

  288. By Larry King on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

It’s not as much McNabbs fault as it the lack of conditioning of most of the players on the team. Peterson Allen, and Winfield are the only players that gave a good effort in the second half. The rest of the team plays a half and their out of gas. What they need is a new strength and conditioning coach who has the players doing some cardio work to improve stamina.

  289. By DaLib62 on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

Why does this team always go away from their success? In the first half the offense was spreading the ball around to all their weapons. They were utilizing everybody and really mixing things up. Then second half comes around and everything is predictable. The offensive staff needs to be more creative. No reason why guys like Gerhardt, Harvin and the rookie TE from Notre Dame and even Webb shouldn’t be utilized in a scheme. These kids are all excellent threats and shouldn’t be on the sidelines in the thick of a game.

So sick of this team and coaching staff…..When we do get a lead, We don’t play to win, we play to “not Lose”…What happened to that killer instinct ? When we get a lead, we need to pound it down the opponents throat….Look at what Detroit is doing…Take some chances..Throw it down the field…this will at least keep the D honest….Time to get it together

  293. By mnsoldier on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

Mc Nabb will have a good game next week because he has to and knows it. In the press conferences he gives the impression that he is just here to collect a pay check, he no longer has passion for the game. put him to back up status, convert webb back to WR as he would be much better the Berrian AKA (butterfingers), and if webb is unwilling to accept that then cut him and get two receivers for the price of none that we currently have. Put ponder in as he can only get better and learn, look at wha the other rookies have done the last couple of years. many have just jumped in and done very well because they had quality college experience unlike too many of the Mn QBs of late.

  294. By mnsoldier on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

how about converting webb to free safety, he is big strong and fast, he doesnt need to tackle much just swat the ball out of the air

I get sick to my stomach when people talk about how Tom Brady is such a great QB, and he makes his receivers great.

N U T S, didn’t you learn anything watching Brett Favre last year. He had zero protection and BECAUSE OF THAT, he had an awful year.

ALL QBs have to have time to throw, and have receivers that get open.

There are no exceptions here. NONE.

    mnsoldier,

I thought converting Webb to DB was my idea.

It certainly would be a good idea for an occasional play or two.

I never saw Marcus Sherels play any defense in either game this year.
We may need to get Sherels in the game!!!!

LOL! now Webb should be playing cornerback. You people are delusional

  301. By Fred Owens on Sep 19, 2011 | Reply

The Vikings are a big dissapointment so far. The problem as I see it is that we need a quality WR. we do not now have a quality WR that demand a double team, one that will go up,fight and catch the ball in traffic. The lack of a good WR allow other teams to just stack the box and key on AP. Additionally, we do not have a good shutdown Corner that can single-up on other teams best receiver. Currently, it seems like the strategy is to let the other team receiver catch the ball and we try to tackle him. (we do not tackle very well) It’s sad to say, but the talk around the league is “the Vikings cannot stop anybody”. If we are to right the ship, we must solve the WR and DB problem. FredO, a Viking fan in Detroit.

Why do we have wide receivers anyway?

  303. By JASunderpar on Sep 20, 2011 | Reply

Unfortunately we won’t get Ponder for quite awhile. I think McNabb is a joke but I kind of agree that he really isn’t the problem. i think it’s totally bad coaching – unwilling or unable to adjust. The ONLY way we’ll see Ponder on the field is if the season is lost (we’re almost there) and even then I’m not sure Frazier will be willing to bench McNabb even though there would be NO REASON at all to continue with him at that point. Are the coaches man enough to give Ponder a go after a couple more losses?

  304. By dj delong on Sep 20, 2011 | Reply

Cmon you guys! Give Mcnabb a break. I have been a fan since 1969 and have seen worse QB’s than him. It’s his first games on a new team and didn’t have an offseason or a full training camp to workout with these receivers. We were up by 10 pts with less than 7 min left and he certainly doesn’t play defense. The defense had crucial penalties at bad times not to mention a dropped interception that would have sealed the victory on the game winning drive. He also doesn”t play special teams that gave up an onside kick recovery. I’m just saying, he is in a new system with new guys. Cut him a little slack.

I think Mike W does not have answers, that’s why no one is getting them, he is just as dumbfounded as we are, the coaches don’t even have answers that’s why we seen repeat from last weeks game. Personally I don’t know why the Vikings suck at the very start of the 2nd half, HECK!! At worst they should not start to suck at least mid way through the 4th quarter, I mean they do get their 15 minute nap time or whatever it is they do in the locker room at half time.

The vikings need to stay on the field during halftime. I t seems that they need to stay out of the locker room. It’s like their kryptonite. What do you think?

  308. By Jeffbleedspurple on Sep 20, 2011 | Reply

I think what is going on here is that the Vikins have 2 play books, one for the 1st half and 1 for the 2nd half, they lost the play book for the 2nd half and now the coaches don’t know what to do. Yes! I think the team should stay on the field at half time, run some drills so they don’t forget how to play football.

  309. By Jeffbleedspurple on Sep 20, 2011 | Reply

Mike W: I was seriously wondering, since our team has shown an inability to move the ball much in the 2nd half, why is it that we have a big threat on this team, besides the other 2 threats, Percy/Peterson and yet we have not figured out a way to get him out on the field much more? And yes I am talking about Webb.

Question: How are the Viking using Toby Gerhart? When he’s involved in the play he’s very productive.

Disappointing that AD received holding call blocking on 3rd down play in 2nd half. Wouldn’t Gerhart be more effective in blocking role. Defense would still key on Gerhart in that situation.
