Posted by Mike Wobschall on September 18, 2011 – 10:40 am

As we have for the past few seasons, we’ll be hosting a live game-day chat for each Vikings game.

The next chat is today, of course, as the Vikings host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Mall of America Field for the 2011 home opener. Today’s chat will begin right around 12:00 p.m. CT.

To join the chat at kickoff, click here to go to the Vikings Game Day page.

I will never understand why we still have Berrian. He can’t catch a ball that hits him right in the numbers. That’s all he’s known for. He has no other reputation other than that. He’s not even a good decoy cuz nobody’s threatened by him.

I`m glad mcnabb is doing better.

I guess what they say is true…Bad start good finish…I guessing the ViQueens are only going to losss 8-10 games and the win out.

Which McDabb are you speaking about?

This is the first yesr I’ve purchased the NFL package from DirectTV so I can watch the Vikings. What a waste of money. Two weeks in a row 17-0 at half. Other teams make adjustments and our coaches do nothing. We have good players but a poor coaching staff. I couldn’t be more disappointed.

I hate mcnabb what a looser. Cut him and bb so we can start winning some games!!!

It’s time to see what Ponder can do, this season is lost.

cmon…Donovan throws downfield on 3rd and 5….that’s the ballgame!!! Veteran QB should be keeping drive alive….pathetic

ok we suck in the second half. we deserved to lose this game and many more if we keep loing like this

viqueens will be lucky to win a game this year…Every team in our division should beat us by 21…no questions…DETROIT will smack us by 30

Leslie Frazier will be done after this season, maybe before. It’s up to the coaches to anticipate the opposing coaches to adjust and they should to. They should be embarrassed.

What the heck was that!! Why do we continue playing defense with no offense in the second half!? That’s ridiculous. What are you afraid of Frazier?? At this point your are coaching for your job!! Might want to get your resume ready, you are failing.

  14. By SmileyStar on Sep 18, 2011 | Reply

It’s not the QB losing the games for us!! It’s Frazier and his Childress style game planning. It feels like last year!!

What a joke! I am so glad I didn’t pay to see that. Do the Vikings know there are four quarters in a game? The Bucs do. The Lions are great. Will we win any games this year?

The Vikings have no guts the secondary didn’t even seem to be trying to make plays especially in the last drive! We need to give Sherels a spot at least he gives 100% The last to games were a bunch of quitters on both sides of the ball! It takes more then 4 or 5 players to win games. Get rid of the non-players and find some finishers!!

test test..i want to write about vikes.

last week adrian in one series got 2 consecutive carries in the second half for 12 yards…then we try trickery and do a 3 and out. Next series Adrian gets 2 carries for 8 yards…third and 2…incomplete. Gee, maybe Vikes could run on 3rd and 5 or less since Adrian averages 5 yds per carry. All we f&(&)(*ing do on third down is pass. Then to make matters worse, announcers of SD game say Vikings need to open up their offense and go away from Adrian. LOL…go away from something that’s working…sounds like a moron to me.

I think that the players just don’t have the killer instinct and set back expecting the other players to do it — took the second half off — that fire needs to come from the top — I hope Frazier finds his moment to light the boys up.

Last, so tired of listening to the football called by a horserace announcer – literally makes me ill. And Greg Coleman sounds like he is at a funeral every game — A contract am sure but please look to change out for your fans sakes.

    Good luck Frazier et al..

Just horrible coaching and leadership. These new cordinators have no ability to abandon the intial game plan and make adjustments to the flow of the game. If it is not on paper, we will not make adjustments. Where is the leadership coming from on defense this year. Just a bunch of average talent looking at each other hoping someone makes a play. Your professionals. Hold yourselves accountable for your performance or donate your unearned checks to charity or helping keep this franchise in minnesota.

Great point vikings4seven! I feel the same way. The coaching is terrible! Mr. Frazier doesn’t even seem like he’s in the game. Or it seems as if he has no power to make adjustments. Something is wrong. If you know football, the vikings should be 2 -0, not 0-2. When you lose in the second half in two games, its coaching! The NFL is a constant chess match, its about making key adjustments. The coaching staff has not done that in 2 weeks. Tight ends anyone? No plays are called for the tight ends on 3rd down. Why do you blitz freeman on 3rd and 12. Rush four maybe five, and drop back in coverage. Don’t leave the middle wide open on a key 3rd down. The coaching gave the game away. Unbelievable! The last two weeks, were not on the players, look at the tape!

Since when did MN become the stopping ground for future retired QBS? Get rid of all these old duffers (oops, sorry I meant EXPERIENCED QBs) and give the new guys a chance. The last one we had was Tommy. Memba him? At least Ponder can run…..

  26. By where are the free agents? on Sep 18, 2011 | Reply

another year the Vikes don’t address free agency, another losing year. might as well play for the 1st overall draftpick

Most games are determined by who controls the line of scrimage. McNabb doesn’t have any time to set and throw due to lack of protection. I also don’t think that Leslie Frazier lost this game. It wasn’t lost due to coaching. Our pass protection was virtually non existant. Their quarterback had so much time to throw, he could have taken a six week course at the community college for pete’s sake. I would like to see improvement every week and I think I will.

Finally got settled down in the room here. Gathering thoughts about the game. First off the team played better than last week. The weak spots pointed out last week are still weak spots. The OLine played much better. The WR are not scaring anyone. There is no deep threat on the team. The running game was working, so the middle of the field pass was working. We need a deep threat WR, now. The secondary of the defense is way to soft. We need CBs that can play not young prospects. That’s what the practice squad is for. I think we are wasting time with Cook and Allen. I also I think that Griffin maybe rushing back to early into the starting line up. WR and CB need to be addressed right away. We will be better next week with Kevin W coming back. I would also consider looking at getting Pat W back here for 1 and 2 downs. There is a coaching issue here not getting the team ready for the second half. It was tough to listen to it on the radio and I bet it was tougher watching it. Take care all

STARTING TO LOOK LIKE LAST YEAR. FIRST OFF,STOP GETTING THESE SORRY QB’S . WE’RE DOING THE SAME THING TO WEBB THAT WE DID TO JACKSON AND ALL THE COACHES WE GET THINK THE SAME. THIS IS GETTING LAME. WE DON’T EVEN HAVE A POCKET PASSING OFFENSE,U HAVE TO ROLL OUT SOMETIMES. THATS WHY WE SHOULD OF NEVER GOT MCNABB AND JUST STARTED JOE WEBB. HE IS A GREAT KEY TO THE OFFENSE

Are we going to waste the whole year losing with McNabb? Put Ponder in, let Webb be his back up and let McNabb be the third quarterback in case of injury. Simple enough. Tell the team to play the whole game or they don’t get a paycheck. It looks like we will have one win against Kansas City and we will probably lose the rest. Too bad because we have Ponder, Webb, Peterson and Harvin. What a waste. Allen is great sometimes and other times useless. His penalty didn’t help us by giving them 15 yards. Thanks for nothing Mcnabb.

Why did they l loose again? It’s simple they don’t have the stamina to play more than two quarters. I would blame the Vikes strength and conditions coach for not doing enough cardio training with these guy’s. It’s not hard to figure out who the few players are that do enough cardio conditioning on their own, they can play four quarters. You won’t win to many football games unless the entire team has done enough cardio training to play four quarter.

If we keep playing like we are we could get the number one pick in the next draft. That is if we haven’t all ready traded it away for another bad player.
