Vikings Arrive At Qualcomm Stadium For Season Opener

Posted by Mike Wobschall on September 11, 2011 – 11:52 am

The early group of Vikings team buses has arrived at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, as the Vikings and Chargers near kickoff of their season-opening contest today at 3:15 p.m. CT. We have clear and sunny skies with warm temperatures and little wind right now, perfect weather for football.

As usual, we are a great place to be on game day. We’ll have pregame updates for you over the next couple hours, including the inactives 90 minutes before the game, Mr. Hippe’s Weather report close to kickoff and then of course our live game day chat that will begin right at kickoff. To join the chat at kickoff, go to the Vikings-Chargers Game Day page by clicking here.

Today’s game is being broadcast as usual on the Vikings Radio Network, with Paul Allen (play-by-play), Pete Bercich (analyst) and Greg Coleman (sideline) calling the action. The television broadcast is being handled by FOX, with Ron Pitts (play-by-play) and Jim Mora, Jr. (analyst) calling the action.

That’s about it for now, but stay tuned for more updates over the next couple of hours and don’t forget to follow the Vikings (@VikingsFootball) and me (@wobby) on Twitter for even more updates.

I think this game could really propel this season in either a negative direction or a positive one! What I’m saying is this, the team needs this game more than any other first game of the season than I have ever seen!

A win today could get this team to a 5-0 start when I look at this schedule!

    Let’s go VIKES!

Wow, 28 total yards passing….. Unbelievable… McNabb was Mc-pitiful. 330 + yards passing by Rivers and nothing was deep. Man, I am trying to figure out what our offensive scheme was besides hand the ball to Peterson. C’mon offense, lets see some shake and bake and Offensive line- give McNabb some help. Next week I am hoping we fare better. Great first half, but whoa…. second half was a horror film. See you next week! I am going to the game and I will be the one cheering the loudest for my Vikes!

high school quarterbacks throw more than 28 yards what is speilman thinking??? our shceme is give it to peterson the whole game?? really??! our defense did alright today but our offense if they have 28 yards total passing, thats just embaressing. no its beyond embaressing to say the least. our strategy is to pick a qb who has thrown for more interceptions than our old qb? mcnabb couldnt even try out for a high school football team. hes better off retiring and not making the vikings look like a joke. its time the vikings win not lose. we went from 10 and 6 to six and ten, to looking like the lions last year.
