Posted by Mike Wobschall on August 20, 2011 – 6:29 pm

As we have for the last few seasons, we’ll be hosting a live game-day chat for each Vikings game. The second chat of the year will be tonight, beginning around 9:00 p.m. CT as the Vikings and Seahawks square off at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

Remember, the live chat won’t start until right around kickoff.

To join the chat at kickoff, click here to go to the Vikings Game Day page.

I just went over to the Seahawks.com site. They seem to have everything set up the way Vikings.com is but their blogs seem to be shut off.

It’s also difficult to find the press conferences. I did find one, Head Coach Carroll. He was very careful with what he said to the media. “Yeah, we love our improved speed, and size, etc.”

We are lucky to have a blog, and the media access we have here. Hopefully we also have a superior football team!!!

    Im predicting a 20 – 13 victory … for the Vikings

I am very suprised about that, I thought for sure that Fitz would try to find way to the Vikings.

Shawn, I predict a win too. I think the Seahawks will score 17. Vikings 35.

1 TD for AP, 1 for McNabb through the air to Berrian, 1 by Booker, 1 by Webb rushing, and 1 for Ponder through the air.

  11. By Jeffbleedspurple on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

I don’t think we will see a lot of Peterson tonight, they will be watching Booker and Gerhart for that #2 spot.

Just a note on the Trivia question. They are asking about the 2 former Vikings on the original Seahawks roster. There were actually three. Bob Lurtsema, Sam McCullum, and Don Hansen.

I wish there was some way to see, or even hear, this game. It sounds promising. I hope they play tough for four quarters. For those who are watching, how does the lines look? And secondary?

  41. By Shawn on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

@CA_Viking_fan …. much better game, Ill grade it later but action happening now

  42. By Shawn on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Ponder doesnt look as good vs Seahaks 2nd string as he did vs Titans 3rd string

  43. By Titus on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Yeah, but Shawn Ponder is starting to heat up– he had a few good throws in the past seconds…

  44. By VeGAsVIkE on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Ca Vike, you should be able to get the game on NFL Network now

  45. By CA_Viking_fan on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

I found a bunch of online radio broadcasts by searching for Seahawks. Now can at least listen to the game. What’s up with the radio stations for the Vikings? No coverage. Game sounds great. Go Vikings.

  46. By thatissomeBS on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

What do y’all think about T Pryor? Think it’s worth a 5th or a 6th for a guy with that size that supposedly ran a 4.3 40 today? And he said he would play anywhere his team wanted and would sign the day he is drafted. I wouldn’t mind using a late round pick to see if we can get a guy that could be a huge threat at WR.

  47. By Titus on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

I have a feeling Webb is going to rush into the end zone.

  48. By Shawn on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

@thatissomeBS … if we didnt have Joe Webb and Ponder maybe but we dont need him

  49. By thatissomeBS on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

@Shawn I wasn’t even mentioning him at QB. I want a guy with that size and speed split wide. I like Webb and Ponder where they are.

  50. By sandiamond on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

thatis 17 teams today at the pro combine for Pryor. Some teams there jic he slips to 4/5… not sure about the vikings tho

  51. By Shawn on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Joe Webb is soooooo BAD A**

  52. By thatissomeBS on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Like I said, I like Webb play Q. You guys see him get that first down. Lovin’ it.

  53. By thatissomeBS on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

    HOLD ON TO THE FOOTBALL!!

  55. By Shawn on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

@thatissomeBS … I understand but keep in mind we dont have a 6th round pick ( McNabb )

and since Pryor is pretty much the same guy as Webb … with less experiance

I wouldnt care either way but , I dont see it happening

  56. By Shawn on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

DAM .. I feel sorry for Manny Arceneaux, that play will probably cost him a job :(

  57. By thatissomeBS on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

@Shawn It may have secured a job on the other side. Not sure who popped it out. Just goes to show how brittle NFL careers are for most people.

    Please no 4th qtr meltdown.

  59. By sandiamond on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Shawn… outside chance. You have to remember the rash of picks this year at the draft. QB’s are going quick these days. just saying as a lotto pick for the vikes

  60. By Parody on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Vikings stop another 4th-down attempt and take over with a little over 2-mins to go. just need to fight for a couple of first downs and we have the win.

Did Tristan Davis just win himself a job? A lot of good young RB’s on the roster. Wonder how many and who they will keep?

  65. By sandiamond on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

other than Booker,AP,Toby how many RB’s spots are open?

  66. By sandiamond on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

not looking good for the undrafted FB Ana

  67. By Shawn on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

maybe a practice squad job but we are too deep at RB for him to be on the 53

  68. By Parody on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

@sandiamond – Zero. Best chance Tristan has is to make the practice squad. It’s likely that play will convince a few teams to take a look at him after he fails to make our 53-man roster though.

  69. By thatissomeBS on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Yeah, I don’t know if they can keep 4. Unless they actually do go with no FB’s, but they would fill that with an extra TE.

  70. By Shawn on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

I think they just go with 3 rb’s , i might be wrong but i doubt it :)

  71. By Shawn on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Parody … did you miss Asher Allen tonight?

  72. By thatissomeBS on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Our young players fighting for roster spots seem to be really quick. That’s good for the whole team.

  73. By Parody on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

@Shawn – LOL, no. Like I said earlier, I was never a provost of Asher. I just wanted you to provide more constructive criticism since you were being so adamant in your protest against him.

  74. By Titus on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Davis won’t make the team. But he has a nice addition to his resume.

wow what a nice game … that was refreshing and fun

  77. By Parody on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Good game overall. Offense improved, first two teams of defense looked great, and special teams had some spectacular plays outside of the fumble.

I’d give the game ball to Sherels, and probably promote him to the #4 CB going into week 4.

  78. By Parody on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Excuse me, that should have been week-3.

  79. By thatissomeBS on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Sherels did what every good player is supposed to do, make up for your mistakes. So many young players make the mistake then get flushed. Sherels stepped up with the help of a good bounce.

  80. By Shawn on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

yea me 2 parody … sherels deserves a shot to pass or fail, he made some plays

  81. By Frederick Jones on Aug 20, 2011 | Reply

Marcus Sherels should get the game ball for the defense ! ! !

He had the interception for a TD, and so many tackles it’s ridiculous !

In addition, he didn’t dance in the end zone. Some Vikings dance after a first down catch.

    Act like you’ve been there before ! ! !

Bud Grant would have cut them.
