Vikings Gearing Up For Saturday Evening Practice

Posted by Mike Wobschall on August 6, 2011 – 11:23 am

Practice #9 of 2011 Verizon Vikings Training Camp was a one-hour walk-through on Saturday morning. Following the walk-through, Vikings Head Coach Leslie Frazier held a press conference and you can watch that in its entirety by clicking here.

There isn’t much to report from the morning walk-through, but that’s okay because the real action will take place tonight when the team has a full pads practice beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Blakeslee Stadium. The Saturday “Night Practice” event is presented by Northland Ford Dealers and will begin with a performance by the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders and the Skol Line. The team will then practice from 7-9:30 p.m. in full pads and in front of a packed Blakeslee Stadium.

Following the evening practice, there will be a team introduction in the stadium and then a fireworks display will be the nightcap.

Tonight is a great night to come to 2011 Verizon Vikings Training Camp. But if you can’t make it, vikings.com has you covered. We’ll be streaming practice live on vikings.com beginning at 7:00 and we’ll also provide commentary and answer fan questions. The live stream will take place on this page beginning around 7:00 p.m. tonight.

Is there a back-up plan tonight in Mankato if there is a thunderstorm this evening, i.e. will it be rescheduled for Sunday?
    Thank you

    Mike

What exactly do they do during a walk through. Is there contact, do they review blocking assignments?

    Thank You.

Vikings need to trade for Taylor Mays before it`s too late! Come on front office! Don`t let this slip away!

The Vikings must make this work. Our Safties need Him or a Big time vet to compete this year. Mays runs a 4.4 and is an athletic freak from usc. Get this guy Vikes!

Bill – In walk-throughs they go over assignments and probably correct mistakes they’ve seen on tape from previous practices.

Mike W. Could you let me know if the Vikes are looking into Mays or are they flat out sticking with what they have? Do you see a concern there watching practice?
