If we THINK that we can sign our free agents,
then we can concentrate on getting Offensive Linemen and Defensive Backs.
If we don’t have the cash to sign those free agents…Heaven help us!
The Vikings ARE NOT A DEEP TEAM. We cannot over look the fact that it all starts with the linemen. Get linemen this year. Draft backs next year.
You cannot fill all the holes in one draft.

@Carl
I agree with what you said about the NFLPA.
Remember also the golden rule, HE WHO HAS THE GOLD MAKES THE RULES !
Hopefully sanity, rather than machismo prevails, and we don’t have a strike !

I think the players unions goal is to open the books of the NFL ownership. They are going to try through the courts first as the NFL is a monopoly. I think the second thing will be an all out strike. I don’t see a situation where anything less than full financial disclosure is going to make the player’s union happy. I would be suprised if we see football until October. This will cause all kinds of interestng moves for teams trying to compete on a short season.

The 12th pick is going to be a QB unless the Vikings already have a promis on a guy like Kolb. Then I would say DE or DL. I don’t see the first two picks going for the OL with who the Vkings have on roster now. I think they will press the current guys to refocus their efforts and play more like they did in 09. Remember in 10 we played the two toughest divisons in football besides the North. NFC and AFC East and you add in the Saints, we had a tough schedule. We didn’t have a go to receiver last year. Farve came in late and was terribly rusty at the start of the season. There was no confidence in other QBs so exit Sage for a draft pick. Childress see we are in trouble picks up Moss and then is shocked Moss has a big mouth. Dumps Moss and kills his head coaching job. He would have been better off keeping Moss playing and let NFL deal with his mouth. He might have kept his job till end of the year. We need a QB so go for a QB.

@Titus,
Usually when I watch Clint Eastwood movies you can keep score as in
Clint 6, Bad Guys 5 on the number killed by each side.
So in that sense Clint did lose in Gran Torino. lol

—-Joe Webb is undefeated as a starting QB. His current record is 2-0.—

This draft is deep in defensive linemen. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to select a defensive lineman in round 1.
Then select offensive linemen in rounds 2 and 4.
Don’t be fooled by the radio, the tv, or the magazines. Drafting a qb early would be foolish.
THE VIKINGS ARE NOT A DEEP TEAM. WE NEED PEOPLE AT A LOT OF DIFFERENT POSITIONS.

@Ironman,
Thankyou. Joe also whipped 4 ints vs. no tds., yet his interception rate is very low.
I’m hoping that he can learn a lot in a short time…

Joe only has 3 ints – 2 against the Bears in the cold outdoors when the game was out of reach. Only 1 int in his 2 starts. S. Rice also drapped a TD from Webb.
Webb was very close to winning both of his starts. That is all we can ask from a young QB.
Keep us in the game… give us a big play every once in a while that makes us say holy cow… and keep giving us that endzone dance.

going crazy to see what we come out of this draft with, we got alot of holes this draft is so huge for us, i dont want to be a “rebuilding” team for the next 5 years. lets be like the Pats rebuild AND compete. go vikes.
