Hey Mike any updates about the oc coaching position? what position do you think we will draft qb or o-line?

  2. By Andrew on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Are we gonna extend adrians contract this off season?

  3. By Ricefield on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

In an interview with Viking’s Weekly, Frazier said that most of the questions concerning his coaching staff will be answered “very soon”.

Any idea how “soon” that will be?

Hey Mike, my question is who do you see as a great fit for the Vikings secondary next year via free agency or the draft? I would like us to get Champ Bailey or Nnamdi Asomugha, but that might be difficult since they would want a big contract, which is tough since we have some great players that are not under contract anymore, that we really need to consider resigning. As for the draft, Patrick Peterson, and Prince Nakamura would be on the top of my list. Are there anymore players the Vikings will be looking at?

Has Mike Singletary been interviewed yet and do you think he’d be a good coach in Minnesota?

  6. By Dave on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Who will be the running backs coach?

  7. By Mike Jensen on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Is there any chance of going after Nnamdi Asomugha? I would sure be nice to have a secondary other than Winfield who can cover?

  8. By Malte on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

I doubt we will go for Nnamdi asomugha.. he doesn’t fit our cover 2 system, he plays a lot of man to man (and is VERY great at it) – and I also doubt that the vikings will pay the neccensary money for him .. look for either Cowboys / chargers to go for him.. It’s true vikings talk with singletary, the question is.. will he be coordinator of just a LB coach?

  9. By cody on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

do u think that were gunna draft or get a vetrian qb and whos interviewing got the runing backs coach and deffensive cordnator job?

  10. By DRS on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

    Four questions,
    1. Will there be a lockout?
    2. What is up with the roof of the Metrodome?
    3. Will there be a new Stadium?
    4. Will the Vikings get linemen in the draft first?

  11. By joe.m on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

will there be a big name free agent comeing in like (Nniamdi asomugha or Champ Bailey or # 31 on the jets)

  12. By AustrianVike on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

If former coach Childress would be named the OC of the Eagles, would the Vikings still be on the hook for all the money we owe him since he was released?

  13. By Chance on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Do you think the vikings will look at options to trade bryant mckinny and/or madiue williams? They really havent been playing the best of their abilites these last couple of years. Then do you think the vikings should trade down in the draft to get some more draft picks bc its not like theres a guy we really need unless there is a guy in the draft that we have high on our draft boards.

  14. By Viking on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Do you think we will go after bill o brien qb coach of the pats for oc position?

  15. By Shawn on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

It looks like we lost out on McDaniels and Singleterry probally goes to Carolina, with no stadium and the state of Minnesota showing no real interest in building one I am really getting concerned. Will any free agent wants to sign a contract with us, just to have to move to a new city next year? So my question is will this be the last season of the Minnesota Vikings? and if so will Zygi please change the name of the team when he leaves Minnesota?

  16. By Shawn on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Minnesota has already lost the Lakers and the North Stars …. I hate this but I really think they will lose the Vikings, as a fan I would love to see outdoor games and Wilfs said they will pay for 1/3 of an outdoor stadium

BUT THESE STUPID POLITICIANS WANT A ROOF SO IF YOU TAKE AWAY 300 MILLION FROM THE WILFS AND 200 MILLION FOR THE ROOF THE STATE WANTS TO COME UP WITH 500 MILLION AT A TIME WHEN THEY JUST NEED A STADIUM

  17. By Shawn on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

    is Minnesota run by Republicans?

  18. By Queeneater on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Will the Vikings move to Los Angeles and when.
Will St. Louis join the NFC North in place of the Los Angeles Vikings.

  19. By Carl K on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

When does the trading period begin? How much time before March 1st will the Vikings have to make a trade if a CBA agreement is not made by then? Will teams be allowed to trade draft picks or move up or down in the draft it a CBA agreement is not made?

  20. By Red on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Ray Edwards is an incredible talent on the D-line. However, as with his end time at Purdue, he seems to be perpetually disgruntled. Is this a product of the time spent under Joe Tiller and Brad Childress? And, with the naming of Leslie Frazier as head coach would he be more willing to return? Or, is this a free agency that’s all about the money?

Steelers and Bears in the Superbowl. Who would have ever thunk?

  22. By Shawn on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

looks like i might be wrong about Singleterry and I sure hope Im wrong about a Viking move

  23. By Shawn on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Was that your pick Titus? I would like to see Ladanian Tomlinson win a ring , he deserves one

  24. By Justin on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Think about it. Does Minnesota want to lost out on millions of dollars from revenue from a football team? Heck no. Minnesota would benefit alot by keeping a football team in the state. Building a new stadium in the long run would generate alot of revenue for the state and for the team. Governor Dayton shouldn’t be that stupid and allow a football team to leave the state and take millions of dollars with them. Minnesota needs the money.

  25. By Shawn on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

They already gave away the Lakers and North Stars …. and these people who dont even go to the games ( politicians ) want a roof which will cost 500mil (ish) more … 300 mil (ish) from the wilfs and 200 mil (ish) for a roof

How do we get top free agents to move to Minnesota only to maybe move again a year later?

  26. By Shawn on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Did anyone notice the 4 teams left in the playoffs are outdoor cold weather play in the snow teams?

  27. By Titus on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

All the teams this week-end were outdoor teams except for Atlanta– who fell apart, despite being the number one seed.

  28. By Titus on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

Granted Seattle and Baltimore are milder than the Minneapple, but they are not Miami.

  29. By Titus on Jan 16, 2011 | Reply

I don’t know Shawn– the more I think about the games, I am not so sure about my picks. Jets may win– Brady is a better QB than Ben, but then again, I think the Pats were overly confident like the Saints. Steelers D is always good.
I turned on the Bears game today when it was 28-0 but the Seahawks did start to figure things out– too late, but they did start to score– surely the Packers can score more than the Seahawks and the Pack know the Bears well.
Tough one. Somehow I can handle the Bears in the Big Bowl over the Packers, but it’s going to be close.

There is going to be an lockout next year, so what replacements go to the SB?
The way all of NFL played, I felt that they are just waiting for the lockout and more money.

    Hey Mike,

As far as trades go this offseason, who do you think WE will trade/try to trade away and who do you think we should try to trade for? Do you think maybe trading for some draft picks might be a smart option?

    Thanks

with the pathetic season we had the final rub the salt in the wound is the nfc final…if this season was a movie scripted by a viking hating writer he could not have done a better job than reality….i think we all know how the season will end with the super bowl presentation

  33. By Rogerthevikefan on Jan 17, 2011 | Reply

I would rather see the jets vs. the bears with the jets winning but it will likely be packers vs. steelers with the cheeseheads winning.

  34. By Alex on Jan 17, 2011 | Reply

Whats the scoop on the QB position. Do we have any idea who we would like to get. And the CB position do we have a shot at Champ Bailey, and Nnamdi Asomugh. It would be stellar if we got the both of them. What is the news on the coaching openings. Let us all know we are being very patient with this.
    GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO VIKINGS.

    Good Morning!!!

  36. By Frederick Jones on Jan 17, 2011 | Reply

I haven’t heard much about the lockout. It seems as if it will come right down to the beginning of the season.

We will lose the pre-season for sure, and probably part of the regular season. I do not believe, at this point, that the NFL or it’s players will give up an entire season.

    Cooler heads will prevail.

  37. By Anthony on Jan 17, 2011 | Reply

Just wondering with the 20 million dollar contract of Favre coming off the books, it seems we should have alot of money to keep our big free agents and maybe go out and get a CB and take a shot at trading for a QB. What are your thoughts. We need to make sure that we bring back Rice and Greenway

  38. By Frederick Jones on Jan 17, 2011 | Reply

It says alot about the NFC North that 2 of our teams are still involved in the playoffs, and one will play in the SB.

  39. By Frederick Jones on Jan 17, 2011 | Reply

    @Anthony

I liked what Frazier said about having competition at every position.

That’s what we need. No more of this “Let’s see who’s healthy this week.”

  40. By Frederick Jones on Jan 17, 2011 | Reply

The Vikings biggest weakness seemed to be OL.

Not only did we lack talent there (similar to DB and Special Teams), we did not have any depth at OL.

That’s where we had to ask the questions: “Do we have 2 healthy guards that can play this week?” “Do we have anyone who has ever played center before?”

Forgive my disgust, but those are questions that should never need to be asked on an NFL team!!!

Who is the top quarterback that the Vikings at looking at right now to get next season?

  42. By Titus on Jan 17, 2011 | Reply

Yes, Fred, it says a lot about how tough our division is becoming. With the rise of the Lions, we no longer have an easy division, which ultimately will make the Vikings a better team– iron sharpens iron.
I had picked the Bears to go to the Superbowl before this week-end, but after seeing Seattle score often after being down 28-0 in the first half, I am not so sure. Packers will certainly score against Chicago more easily and earlier than the Seahawks. It should be an excellent football game. Everybody enjoy. Life is way too short to cry over the season we just had— lots of good football coming next week-end.

hey mike who are some of the prospects for a starting QB next season?

Also are we going to be able to keep the william wall this comming season? they make our defensive line real good

Is toby Gerhart going get more reps this season to take a alot of the load off of AP?

  50. By Jake on Jan 19, 2011 | Reply

With the new coaching staff announced, how do you feel each of the coaches will noticeably change or influence the team? If the Vikes can figure out the QB situation, do you feel the coaches can turn the franchise around as early as next season?

  51. By Justin on Jan 20, 2011 | Reply

How do you think the vikings will approach this draft, i know it is still early but do you think they will try and move up for a player they want, possibly a starting quarterback or will they just take what falls to them at the 12th pick? I think Lesi has the luxury to sit back if there is a quarterback that you really like, just the like the jets did 2 yrs. ago, what do you think?
