Vikings Begin Arriving At Ford Field

Posted by Mike Wobschall on December 13, 2010 – 3:37 pm

The first set of buses have dropped Vikings players, coaches and personnel off at Ford Field in downtown Detroit for tonight’s Vikings-Giants game. There is Vikings script in both endzones, a Norseman at midfield, Vikings graphics on the big boards and a whole bunch of Lions personnel/staff helping all of us out.

A big thanks to the Lions operations, public relations, security and many other departments for their help in hosting this game tonight under rare circumstances.

Although the last 34 hours have been unusual to say the least, the next 5 or 6 hours should feel somewhat normal. We’ll go through our normal pre-game routine here on, coaches and players will do the same and soon enough we’ll be kicking off tonight’s game. At the end of the game, though, it’ll be back to unfamiliarity and weirdness.

On top of all this, the big question will be about QB Brett Favre’s status. Will his consecutive games streak end tonight? Or will he be able to go thanks to the extra day caused by the postponement of this game? All of that is not even to mention the fact that this is a huge game for the NY Giants as they battle to remain in-step with the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East race.

It will be a wild ride in Motown and it all starts now. Stay tuned to through it all because we’ll have the most comprehensive and up-to-date coverage of pregame developments, in-game action and post-game recap. We’ll be back a bit later with more…

It’s pretty obvious that Favre ends his streak tonight. This shoulder injury is pretty much the death nail in Favre’s streak, whether he or anyone else likes it or not. 297 is a impressive feat and it won’t be surpassed for years to come.

Bill – I feel for you and I think that the game should be televised across the country, but how can the team’s owner force the television stations in your market to show the game?

It should be on national TV, heck maybe International– the Vikings this year are far more than a football team, they are a sitcom. Ratings would be through the roof, errr, I mean, well, you know.

Anyways, I have to run off and give a presentation for a graduate class…
hopefully I can sneak it in during a commercial break…Nothing against the guy, but it would be nice if Favre starts, and gets injured just as my turn to present comes up so that there will be an extended injury break – or am I being too selfish?

Bush league: It’s great to have a home game at a “nuetral ” site, and have those bone headed freebies from Detroit boo their a$$e$ off at the Vikings. Super! Nice job, N.F.L. Next week everyone plays at a nuetral site.

    WHAT THE $&@#!!!!!!!!!
I’m in the same area as Bill and Tim
This is the MINNESOTA Vikings… Not the MINNEAPOLIS Vikings
It’s B.S they Don’t play this game anywhere north of the cities..
Also, I’m a die hard Vikings fan but it they want our taxes in the north to build this stadium that we so desperately need, build it in St. Cloud. Right in the MIDDLE of the state.. It’s only fair… TICKED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you guys get the NFL Network, they’ll reair the game I think next Monday. I’m not sure on the day, but they WILL reshow the game.

Yow the Not Fair League strikes again ……first the officiating crews make two bad calls that robs the Lions of both games against Chicago and if fact gives them the division crown [barring a collapse of epic proportions ]Then they make the Vikes play a ”HOME GAME” in Detroit .To compound matters even more for Purple Fans Chilly’s failure to throw the red flag in the first Packers game may well be the reason this team does not make it to the post-season…..hmmmmm food for thought no? Lets put a beating on these Giants anyway and we we still get a chance at the Bears and that will be our Superbowl………Go VIKES

What was that, a human jack-hammer? That defensive player who took TJack down looked like he had a major body twitch.
