Tonight’s Inactives

Posted by Ryan Cardinal on December 13, 2010 – 4:50 pm

Here are tonight’s inactives for the Vikings:

QB Brett Favre, WR Percy Harvin, WR Hank Baskett, S Tyrell Johnson, CB Chris Cook, G Steve Hutchinson, DT Fred Evans and DE Ray Edwards.

Of course, with Favre being inactive, this will mark the end of his streak of making 297 consecutive starts in a row.  vikings.com will have more on the end of the streak as the week unfolds, but for now, check out this video piece on “the streak” from NFL Network.

Sorry to tell you all, but there is NO chance of winning tonight with Jackson. He is not the man. Never waa the man. And never will be the man. He won’t even be on this team next year. I just hope Favre doesn’t decide to call it a career earlier than expected now.

  15. By Titus on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

Mr Smiff– This is the smart decision– in fact, it would have been better to do this after the first Packers game– you cannot be 100% with broken ankles, tendinitis, etc– if Favre had rested for a few weeks– who knows, we might see the old gunslinger by now– you don’t get old in 8 months, not enough to change who you are— the difference in his performance this year from last is he never allowed himself to get healthy.

It’s sad to say but the Vikings have played so poorly that it has resulted in the NFL’s most durable football player to go on t the incactive list…what could be more fitting for this disorganized team. Hopefully with the new coach they can turn this train wreck around!

  22. By Sharon on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

You people are so funny! He should have stayed retired the first time he said he was going to! He would have been remembered for all the good things he did and not being such a stupid, “gotta keep my name in the loop” big headed whiny baby! He should have known when it was time to hang it up, about 3 seasons ago!

Vikings had better win tonight……let’s go Vikes! It won’t be the same without you, Brett. Rest well and hopefully you will play next week. YOUR IRONMAN STREAK WILL NEVER BE TOUCHED!!!!! YOUR PASSION FOR THE GAME WILL NEVER BE EQUALLED!!! THANK YOU, BRETT, FOR PLAYING THROUGH ALL THE PAIN AND BLOOD AND TEARS AND BROKEN BONES!!!!! WE LOVE YOU, BRETT!! YOU ARE ‘DA MAN!!!!!!

T Jackson threw 3 ints last week and his 2 passing touchdowns were were possible because of amazing catches by Sidney Rice, one of those TD’s should have been an interception. Jackson is not the QB for us Vikings, will not be any better than Favre which is sad cause that’s not saying very much cause Brett is washed up and at the end of his career. Draft Kellen Moore or Ryan Mallet and have a balanced scoring machine…

I felt the least they could have done was as a TEAM T JOKE could have said look BRET we as a TEAM want u to suit up and take 1 snap or we do not go out !!!!! Bret would have had to have taken 1 snap and then the BOYS come in and play like MEN !!!!! They could have even got on TV w/o having to fall into the endzone backwards,,,What a statement that would have made, look we appreciate that BRETT helped get us to the N F C Championship game n we as a TEAM R now b4 game time telling the world that BRETT has to take the 1st snap…This is not BRETT’s idea it is ours as a TEAM but u know what after watching this COMPLETE MELTDOWN W/ TJoke at the helm I now know w/ almost 100% certainty that this is a SPLIT TEAM and the hit Brett took against Buffalo was an orchestrated deal…..If you watch that play the whole LEFT SIDE of the off. line is standing there watching the guy run around end having a totally unaltered untouched at full speed blind side shot at BRETT!!!!! The guy hit him so hard he literally levitated at a total parallel position to the ground b4 Brett was planted into the ground as”LET ME pull my towel off while on live tv” SHIANCOE, Mckinney I believe and I could not see the other guys # but they stood there and watched!!!!!!!!!! This was the worst example of a FOOTBALL game I have ever seen in my LIFE !!!! I will say it again This T E A M still had life as we all saw Greenbay lose as well as Chicago…. We play Chicago on MONDAY night for – ods sake !!!!!!!! What a total DISGRACE

Spence, unfortunately T-Jack did his thang tonight. The same thang he has done the past 4 years…..SUCKED. He proved he is indeed NOT the one.

Wondered what I would read on the blog after that horrible loss against the Giants. I too wanted to ask all the Favre haters who screamed for his benching to bring in Jackson, how they feel now? Was he the great QB they were asking for??? – NOT! Do you all still think even this loss was Favre’s fault? – NOT! Just like the other losses, they shouldn’t have been blamed on Favre alone. This team has a lot of issues and it’s sad to see the season end this way. With the Packers and the Bears losing I was still hoping for a miracle. Now I just hope that Brett can play one last game so his REAL FANS can show him a really nice send off. If that doesn’t happen my entire family is very thankful to have been able to watch him play for so many years. We wish him the best when his playing days are over. Let him enjoy his family and new Grandson, and would love to see him do commentating or coaching somewhere in the future. Thanks Brett – you’ll always be #1 with us!!!!

Jason, if you dont give someone a chance to play how in the do you
know if they can get the job done. Give Baskett a chance is what I have to say about it. And we have given H a ton of chances. Of course he does make more money………so that is the reason?? #$%^&%$#$#
