Halftime: Giants 14 – Vikings 3

Posted by cjsiewert on December 13, 2010 – 8:05 pm

With just :03 remaining in the 1st half, Giants QB Eli Manning found TE Kevin Boss on a quick stop-and-go route in the middle of the endzone to give his team a 14-3 lead entering the locker room for halftime.

The 9-play, 71-yard scoring drive generated momentum following a costly personal foul committed by Vikings CB Asher Allen for a helmet-to-helmet contact on the Giants 1st play of the series – the penalty gave the Giants 1st and 10 from their own 46. On the ensuing play, Manning found WR Hakeem Nicks streaking down the left sideline for a 30-yard gain; Allen was the closest defender.

In place of Brett Favre, Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson has completed 10 of 13 passes for 77 yards with 0 TDs and 0 INTs.

The Giants defense has held Vikings RB Adrian Peterson to just 16 yards on 10 carries. Sidney Rice leads the Vikings receiving core with 38 yards on 4 receptions.

Vikings CBs Frank Walker and Allen both have an INT, but the offense has only been able to muster out 3 points as a result.

New York will receive the 2nd half kickoff.

If all you TJack fans who think he is QB please get your head examined. You got your wish he is starting and now you are watching the worst QB play football in the NFL If Leslie wants to keep his job he should start web and send TJack packing. What a freaking joke.

I agree though that Jackson isn’t meant to be a starter, but what choice do we have? Webb is still a risk.

Favre is a proven leader with 297 starts worth of NFL experience. Players respect him. How about offering him a Vikings staff/coaching position?

allen 21 looks like he does not belong in the nfl…but the majority of the vikings look like that…they have to clean house next year…we need an offensive coordinator that has vision and the smarts to utilize offensive talent in an exciting way…for this year spielman has to take much more heat than he has taken

  31. By canada viking fan on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

look at how fast T-jack runs to the back field

    @Jimmy Hoffa

Don’t blame Frazier for this loss. He tried his best.

  35. By JIMMY HOFFA on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

Hey Justin can you explain why Frazier is running the ball when the Giants are doing a fine Job stopping it? I thinks he’s no different than Chilly, He was lucky he got a break two games ago against teams that suck!!!

  36. By hank on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

horrible display of football-the vikes especially the offensive line have tanked this game embarrassing and extremely disappointing no heart on this team

  38. By JIMMY HOFFA on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

I guess the storm did us Minnesotans a favor, LA they are your problem now!!! That will be good riddance to bad rubbish….

if we think this is an ugly game wait till the total blowout vs the eagles…if they play like today 52-7 final…loadholt and mckinnie have looked bad all year…like they are in some type of daze…it takes special talent in pro sports to go from one of the best teams to one of the worst teams in a one year span..

  40. By Jim on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

Weren’t all you the same people that was crying to get rid of favre and put Tjack in? what’s up now?

  41. By Shawn on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

please tjack fans someone tell me why hes better than brett …. i have forgotten all the insanity i mean wisdom you have

  42. By Titus on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

We now know we have no QB. This display tonight is why Frazier did not hesitate a millesecond when asked upon taking the head coach job who is starting QB is — to say Favre. Webb goes in now and he gets a ball batted away immediately– he looked good in pre-seaon because that was the Pee Wee league compared to playing a playoff team in December. Folks, the season is getting dim.
At least we can clean house. Now, where are all the Favre haters?

  43. By JIMMY HOFFA on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

I was never among those drinking the T-Choke coolaid!!!! LOL

  44. By Titus on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

We would be better off letting Favre get the best care and an elite trainer for the rest of this year through next summer and bring him back in 2011, then have either of our wet-behind the ears back-ups play.

  45. By JAC on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

Well the season is officially over…i have to say i was naive and that we had a small chance with the bears and Packers tough schedule but i can shoot that idea now

Their is a reason why Frazier wanted Favre to play….

  46. By mr smiff on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

    Now that,s an idea, Titus.

  47. By martin on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

bevell cannot handle more than one talented wide receivers on offense..he likes to have one wide receiver to be the main and mostly only focus in his offense..this may work in high school and college but not in the pros…

  48. By Justin on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

    @Jimmy Hoffa

When you take control of a team that has collasped on all fronts against good teams, like the Giants, then it’s more the players faults for failing to perform well. Injuries have been another problem. I’d say Frazier shouldn’t be held accountable for the loss against the Giants.

  49. By kraze k on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

Where are all the SackJack Fans saying how good he is. Like I said before the only thing SackJack is good at is throwing interceptions, laying on his back, and getting sacked. Oh I also forgot miss the ball when it is snapped to him. SackJack should have gone with Chilli and also I believe that Mike should go as well because if you read what he writes on the chat is sounds like he wants this team to lose just like Chilli did.

webb and jackson are not the answer for next year but in this game brady would have had trouble…more than half the vikings decided to get paid today for non effort…

  51. By Titus on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

Thank you Mr Smiff. I think our season this year is over folks, time to put the lights out and get some sleep. Question to everyone, who do you root for in the playoffs now the Vikes are out? I think I would go with the Saints in the NFC.

  52. By JIMMY HOFFA on Dec 13, 2010 | Reply

I’m amazed, I have to admit. Seldom do I come across
a blog that’s both educative and interesting, and let me tell you, you’ve
hit the nail on the head. The issue is something which too few men and women are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy I came across this in my hunt for something concerning this.
