Unable to score tickets to this Sunday’s Vikings-Giants game? No problem, because there are several other ways to take in the action.
– As usual, we’ll have a live chat here on vikings.com during the game. We’ll launch the chat just before kickoff, so be sure to join us.
– The game will be televised by FOX and the network has sent it’s #1 crew to Minneapolis for the game. Joe Buck will handle play-by-play duties, Troy Aikman will be the game analyst and Pam Oliver will take sideline reporting duties.
– The national radio broadcast will be handled by Westwood One, with Kevin Kugler (play-by-play) and Mark Malone (analyst) calling the action from the booth and Scott Graham on the sidelines.
–But if you’re going to use the radio to checkout the game, I recommend tuning in to either KFAN-AM 1130 or KTLK 100.3 FM to hear Paul Allen call the action and Pete Bercich handle the analysis. Greg Coleman is the sideline reporter. Also, Mike Mussman will anchor the pre-game show, which begins at 10:00 a.m. CT.
KFAN and KTLK serve as the flagship stations for the 72-station, 5-state Vikings Radio Network.

The Vikings have a tradition of naming an Honorary Viking for each game and having that individual sound the Gjallarhorn as a pre-game ritual. On Sunday when the Vikings host the NY Giants, new University of Minnesota Head Football Coach Jerry Kill will serve as the team’s Honorary Viking and sound the Gjallarhorn.
Kill was hired by the University of Minnesota on December 5. He is a 17-year coaching veteran and comes to Minnesota after spending the previous 3 seasons as the head coach at Northern Illinois. During his tenure at Northern Illinois, Kill guided the Huskies to a 23-16 record, including an 18-6 conference record and a victory over the Gophers this past season.
Kill, who has a 127-73 (.635) career coaching record, has also been the head coach at Saginaw Valley State, Emporia State and Southern Illinois.

Vikings QB Brett Favre (chest/ankle/right shoulder) returned to practice on Friday in limited fashion and has been listed as questionable on the week’s final injury report. WR Percy Harvin (illness) did not participate in practice and is listed as doubtful. Two players – CB Chris Cook (knee) and S Tyrell Johnson (knee) – have been declared out.
Vikings Interim Head Coach Leslie Frazier said Favre did light throwing at practice and that there’s a chance he’ll be able to play on Sunday. He also said the team would wait to see how much Favre progresses between now and Sunday and that the decision will probably go up until game time.
“The fact that he was able to go through the throwing motion, that was a big hurdle in his mind and that was one of the concerns yesterday. ‘Can I go through the motion of having to complete a throw?’ So we’re past that hurdle and we’ll do some other things on Sunday and even tomorrow we’ll do some things again tomorrow that we want to look at. We’ve gotten past one hurdle; we’ll see what happens.”
Other injury updates: LG Steve Hutchinson (thumb), DE Ray Edwards (ankle) and QB Joe Webb (hamstring) are questionable. WR Bernard Berrian (groin), RB Toby Gerhart (hamstring), WR Greg Lewis (concussion), RB Adrian Peterson (ankle), WR Sidney Rice (hip) and S Jamarca Sanford (hamstring) are probable.
