Peterson Nominated For FedEx Ground Player Of The Week Award

Adrian Peterson ran for 107 yards and 3 TDs on 16 carries, including a 43-yard highlight-reel score, against the Buffalo Bills last week and that performance resulted in a win for the Vikings. The performance might also help Peterson get another win this week.

Peterson and both Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (21 carries, 116 yards) and Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew (31 carries, 186 yards) have been nominated for this week’s FedEx Ground Player of the Week Award. You can cast your vote for Peterson by clicking here.

Fans will be voting for more than their favorite player. As part of the Air & Ground program, FedEx continues its support of Safe Kids USA by making weekly $2,000 donations in each of the winning players’ names. The funding, allocated to local Safe Kids coalitions in that team’s city, is used for pedestrian-safety improvements throughout the year, from upgraded crosswalks and safety signs to traffic barriers and educational training.

Peterson is a multiple-time winner of the FedEx Ground Player of the Week Award and he was also named the FedEx Ground Player of the Year in 2008.

Anyone who can out run 11 guys 43 yards on a badly sprained ankle is some kind of fantastic!

Brett, Percy and Adrian have shown great strength and the will to win by playing so hard with their injuries. What great men and athletes they are. Adrian should have more bad ankles if this is how he plays hurt. He out ran everyone! Keep winning Vikings! You are such a great bunch of men! Sidney, welcome back, we missed your excellence! Too bad you weren’t here the whole season.
