NFL network approves of Coach Frazier. Beware, they will find the negatives if there are not enough positives in the future.

why havn’t you set down oldman favre???? or better yet send him home, 17 turnovers chilly dog and favre should have gone????????

  5. By Frederick Jones on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

I hope our d-line and o-line can play a full game against Washington. That’s where it starts.

  6. By Frederick Jones on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

Favre can whip a ball, and move. If he gets another second or two to set up, I predict a great game for him and the Vikings.

  7. By vikingsfan4life on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

chilly dog was part of the problem with the vikings but he is not the one who turned the ball over 17 times already this season what do you do with lord favre???????????????????????

  8. By Frederick Jones on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

The young man up in the booth, Terry Bradshaw could provide a great passing attack, with 3 or 4 seconds to set up and throw.

  9. By Frederick Jones on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

McKInnie, Cook, Sullivan, Hutchinson, and Loadholt need to get it done vs. Washington. With a great game from them, Trent (pilifer) Dilfer could pass for 300.

  10. By Frederick Jones on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

What the heck, give the ball to Jimmy Johnson, he’ll throw at touchdown for ya, given enough time!!!

  11. By vikingsfan4life on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

ok I see now you are not going to bench lord favre, so my question is do you really think lord favre can win the last 6 games with 17 turnovers already this season these trunover are the reason we are 3-7??????????????

  12. By Frederick Jones on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

Hey, but like others have said, we need to put pressure on their QB. Maybe bring back Howie Long, and Tom Jackson!!!

I have to agree with vikingfan4life, Brett Favre has run out of steam, turnovers are killing us. With new coaching blood coming in from the sideline, it’s about time to bring in TV and allow him to start giving what he is paid for. How about it coach Frazier? Our season is in the lowest W/L in years, could it hurt to give new blood a chance on the field too?

So many admire Bill Parcells, who told his QBs that if they don’t have interceptions they are not doing enough.

  16. By Frederick Jones on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

The YOUNG MAN Terry Bradshaw could get it done behind a stalwart offensive line.

  17. By vikingsfan4life on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

he won’t bench favre bill, because of the money they are paying and it don’t really matter their season is over already anyway so let him play and then send his old @ss home at the end of the season I guess then start to rebuild the team in the offseason….either way we don’t win our last 6 games with lord favre as QB……………………the man could end his season with 30 turnovers who knows ………..

  18. By Frederick Jones on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

It starts up front. You can have a lousy defensive backfield. You can have the worst qb of all times. If it’s not gettin’ done up front, go home it’s over!!!

Not to change to subject…but does anyone else agree that Favre is an a$$whole on the sidelines during a football game? The more You Tube footage I see and hear of this guy and his comments, makes me wonder why we would want a QB like that to begin with. Not making excuses for Childress, but he may very well have been responsible for his own demise in trying to get this guys back here.

Also, I love the whole “bring Favre back to coach Webb” comment. DO NOT DO THAT. Webb will end up hating his coach, having an inferiority complex, and serving up 2-3 ints a game.

Sit the Phallus Flinging Favre and play Webb. Evidently donations cancel out adultery nowadays huh Brett? Sorry this idiot p!sses me off! No wonder Pack fans boo him to this day.

AND Fred is correct— if you cannot articulate without swearing, then one, you have really poor communication skills, two, you allow others to have power over you and dictate your response, and/or you are just a teenager who has not matured and progressed to fully understand that it is normal to disagree with others— learn to deal with it and cut resorting to words that have no meaning–

Vikings Fan for Life, I disagree. We can all agree that this season is over, at least in getting to the playoffs, correct? Then that means we have to focus on next year… right now. And that means we play a quarterback who might help us out next year… that not being Favre, we need to play T-Jack and see if he has what it takes. It’s the same reason we fired Childress, to see if Frazier will fit the position for years to come. These next games are where we start making cuts and think about adding new players for next year. And YES… play Joe Webb, lets see what he has.

@Fred – Favre has a terrible attitude. The pressers are for the media. Not for you and me or his team. Any veteran quarterback that comes onto a team and puts himself before the coach, doesn’t belong on the team – I don’t care who he is. If Brad had the b@lls to say shut up and play football – he would still be here. On a side note: I love the way he totally dismisses any question on Jen Sterger also. Brad threw him under bus after the last Packer game and for good reason. The guy sucks this year. O-Line or not you can’t throw 3 picks a game and win. The reality is that: We had a shot at Vick, at McNabb, and even Sage looked good in pre-season and we pick this retar6 to take us to the promise land?? I supposed if I made 20M to throw picks and short-arm or overthrow receivers in the flat, that I would have a good attitude also. Bench him – Favre or not, this team needs come confidence. Joe Webb might do something or create some much needed energy.

The NFL had said that the formula for a successful season would be to have more explosive plays and limit the opponents explosive plays (explosive being 20+yrds plays) and to have our defense get interceptions and fumbles more than our offense turns the ball over. If you look at the Steelers and Eagles this formula holds true. Will we see the Vikings Defense try to turn the ball over more or go for the more conservative route.

I’d like to add that when we blitzed the Arizona cardinals we had a lot of success and it proved to help the DB’s cause they didn’t have to cover the receivers as long but when Rogers had only the front four to worry about he was able to buy time from scrambling or his O-line would hold long enough for the receivers to break away from coverage of the DB’s. I wouldn’t hurt to try some more blitz packages and trick plays since playoffs are unlikely at this point. If it works it makes you look good. If not well the Vikings haven’t been playing well sticking with the original system lately anyway. I say give it a chance on a series or two

Vikings need change, the season is over. Don’t you agree it is time to start re-tooloing for next year and beyond? Would you consider not worrying about losing anymore games and starting Joe Webb, letting Favre mentor him the rest of the season?? We all know Tavaris Jackson is not the future and Favre can’t get it together… move on. Quarterback is not the only problem, but the team needs a young starter to build around.

  77. By purplerainman on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

I was wondering if you are going to make any changes with the o-line, so they can better protect Favre, so many other qb’s in the league have sooo much more time with the ball.

To all of you bashing Favre…I would love to see what your blog entries were last year. I’m all for constructive criticism, and everyone owning up to their share of the problem, but these back and forth pointless comments and name calling are best left in middle school. Let’s get behind our team, for better for worse. I’m sure Frazier will ask each and every person in that locker room to take a good look in the mirror. It takes more than one good player to win games, and more than one bad player to lose games…period.

  80. By purplerainmain on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

@AMO – Like anyone cares either way. There was no bashing last year because he threw 7 picks all year, not per game. Get a clue. These folks have a right to their opinion. Much like you just gave yours.

Its been our O-line and D-Line that has killed us all year.

If Favre gets time to pass he is as good as any QB in the NFL. How many times was he hit against the Packers last week. He was hit on just about every pass. I don’t care if you are Brady, Rivers, Mannings, Rodgers, it does not matter if you do not have time. Now, perhaps with the right person calling the plays we can call plays that play into the blitz. A good example of that was the screen to AP on Sunday. Favre can get it done if he has time and has the right play called at the right time. If seems like we have a scripted play book that does not change regardless of the defense scheme. If that does not chage I don’t care who the coach is. the results will remain the same.

@purplerain…I have to say that you just kill me with your comments. You jump on Brett because of the “Jenn” allegations, but in the SAME post, your talking about bringing Vick here! How do you equate a “convicted felon” to what is going on with Brett?? You telling me that you can overlook the things that Vick was involved in? If you can…it would seem to me that your morals are more than slightly off the charts!

@wipurplehead – you don’t get it either. Favre is the reason this team blow a$$ and Chilly’s gone. Maybe the Packer move with him was a year or two premature – but they knew what they were doing.

Did you watch last weeks game at all? – Did you see the momentum shift after Favre threw the INT before the half and the Packers too it and scored in like 30 seconds, and then got the ball back after the half. That’s what kills a team.

The INT that you are referring to is not on Brett. If, and I do mean if, Percy would have made the cut and had his body and hands there, he makes the catch and gets us some yards. We only had two turnovers and the other was a fumble. I am not going to throw Percy under the bus, but you have to run the route completely!

Oh by the way congradulations on the advancement to head coach. Wish you the best of luck and hope you can change this team around from what Chilli has done to the team. Look forward to see how the Vikings play their first game without Chilli. Please fix the offensive line and make them protect Favre cause I believe that if Favre don’t get the protection that he needs we will never win. I know people say that in order to beat teams we need to pressure their QB but in actuality the most important thing, I think, is protecting our QB otherwise we can not get down the field unless you keep giving AP the ball but then I am sure he would get tired after so many plays and hits.

Our receivers don’t ALL suck. It’s basically the same receiving core that was in the line-up last season. The difference is the time in which Brett had in the pocket to make an accurate pass and see the field. He’s nearly scrambling for his life just as soon as he drops back to pass! Look what Brady has done with a receiving core that is no bigger than 5″11’? Observe how much time he has back in that pocket. Brady could probably drink a Gatorade, update his Facebook status and whip his hair around and still make a terrific pass completion with all the time he’s afforded in the pocket!

I watch and observe and move past the past and look to the future and I believe Frazier and the whole Vikings ADMIN. is doing the same. They are not sitting back in content and sorrow wishing they would have NOT let Moss go! Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda!

Leslie, I’m sure you will agree that players going at each other on the sidelines is counter productive and even worse when it is caught on camera. I understand tempers will flair, a good head coach will not allow that to happen on his watch and will deal with the individuals one on one. That being said, do you run a tough practice after a lose? Do you reward good play with and extra day off and by the same token punish poor play with full pads the following day? Did you address the team and let them know what you expect from this point forward which seems to be the popular phase coming out of the press conferences these days from the Vikings and do you feel that you will have no problem benching even a star players if they is not playing up to your standards? Final question will or could we see Joe Webb at either quarterback or receiver before the year is over, it sure seems that the Vikings could find a way to exploit his athleticism in some way shape or form maybe even some special teams?

  274. By Shawn on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

  294. By Bruce on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

Here’s the deal….Favre’s last season was the best season of his career. 2nd best passer rating in the league and a trully MVP type year. Only one year later, he is almost the complete opposite stat wise and passer rating wise. It is totally illogical to think a guy can have that great of swing all on his own. There has to be contributing factors and there IS contributing factors. We all know at least half those picks are not his fault and we all know he is the 2nd most hit QB in the league this year. We all know what needs to be fixed. So have faith in Favre and he will not let you down as long as we get those other things fixed!

  295. By kraze k on Nov 23, 2010 | Reply

i think Joe Webb should start every game from now on. we know T Jack is gone next year. please give Joe Webb some reps with the 1st squad so we can see if he has it, or we need to get QB talent in the draft. these next 6 games are very important, even though we are out of playoffs. Webb might be the next Michael Vick in 3 years, you never know, gametime experience is priceless !

why did we pick Chris Cook in the draft when Mays was still available? Cook would of been cut by most teams, i believe we kept him because we drafted him so high, and didn’t want to look foolish. please get some DB’s as soon as possible in free agency

Temporary Coach Frasier, Do you find it unusual that the major contributing factor to the discharge of Coach Childress was that we couldn’t stop a jr High school team from scoring, yet the individual who is responsible for that defense is “temporarily” promoted to his position? What interior conflict you must have!

@chris shut the fu** up how can we move forward as a football team if we have people like you around complaining about old sh**

We won’t start Joe Webb this year in place of Favre. That’s for sure, but here is my idea. Run the wildcat formation with this guy a few times!

Zigi said it that the fans are not important, the fans are not only brutal but usually speak before thinking and for the most part unprofessional like most major sports. Congratulations Mr. Frazier and welcome aboard and best wishes on a record breaking run. I hope you don’t do all those ridiculous press conferences, Chilly had four or five a week, a waste of time.

Head Coach Leslie Frazier, will you take Brett or any high value player out of the game if they do not play up to their capabilities? Do you have a back up for any of the under achievers on this team? Will you be your own man, or a mirror of childerss? Would you sign someone from the pratice team if need be? Is there ant one on the waver wire we can get to inprove this team?

Oops, Is there any one on the waver wire we can get to inprove this team?

    Coach Fraziier,

This is your time to shine!!! Make the most of it. Don’t be afraid to make changes. The traditional ways with Childress didn’t work. How about some wildcat plays. Line up Harvin, Webb and Jackson in the backfield on 3rd down, the defense won’t be able to call a time out fast enough. Line Webb up as the back blocker on punts for a direct snap – give the the opponents something to think about.

Coach do you wish that you had Moss now?

Frazier congrats on the new job. It look like the vikings are in really bad shape. I am providing a grading scale of the team and have a questio afterwards. Here are the grades:

    QB: D
    HB: A
    FB: F
    O Line: F
    D Line: F
    Linebackers: B
    CB: C
    Safety: F
    Receivers: F

If you are the coach next yest what area do you draft first? A lot of sleep will be lost..

  367. By David Plowman on Nov 24, 2010 | Reply

Continuing, I would like to explain my grades. QB is a D because of the O line, mistakes by Farve and no quality back ups. HB. If AP was to get hurt that grade would drop. FB: Tahi is sad. Oline: Hutch is the only player worth keeping. The others are too slow and overrated. D Line: What happened? CB: Winfield makes this grade. Cook? What was the front office thinking when they wasted that draft pick? Linebackers are a good bunch. Safety: Can anhyone back there catch? Receivers: Rice and Harvin should bring up the grade, but with Lewis and the other no-names it brings the grade to an F.

David Plowman, nice blog. Drafting the best player available is a good idea, but I would go towards getting a great lineman. My preference would be defense. The priority with any db has to be the ability to cover someone. Tackling is a close second. Catching the football would be a nice luxury to have, but is not necessary at for any DB.
