Vikings-Packers Broadcast Info

Posted by Mike Wobschall on November 19, 2010 – 4:18 pm

The Vikings and Packers rivalry is obviously one that’s recognized locally, but this week it’ll be on a more national stage because FOX has sent its #1 team to broadcast the game.

There are several ways you can take in Sunday’s Vikings-Packers game…

– As usual, we’ll have a live chat here on vikings.com during the game. We’ll launch the chat just before kickoff, so be sure to join us.

– FOX’s broadcast will feature Joe Buck (play-by-play) and Troy Aikman calling the action. Pam Oliver will handle sideline reporting duties.

– National radio will be handled by Sports USA Radio Network, with Larry Kahn calling the action and Ross Tucker analyzing it. Troy West is the sideline reporter.

– But if you’re going to follow the game on the radio, I recommend tuning in to either KFAN-AM 1130 or KTLK 100.3 FM to hear Paul Allen call the action and Pete Bercich handle the analysis. Greg Coleman is the sideline reporter. Also, Mike Mussman will anchor the pre-game show, which begins at 10:00 a.m. CT.

KFAN and KTLK serve as the flagship stations for the 72-station, 5-state Vikings Radio Network.

MrSmiff, One of your letters indicated that the Redskins are playing bad because of lack of respect for their head coach. Do you realize that Mike Shanahan won TWO Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos? It’s also been a long time since Americans have respected the President. I’d say the last one that had respect was Ronald Reagan. There really isn’t much respect for ANYONE in America anymore!

I agree, Ronald Reagan was the best President we ever had!

Not sure Reagan was the best ever, but in the top 5 of the twentieth century, I will grant you that.

how many union leaders are corrupt? how many live well beyond the means of the proletariat they supposedly champion? how many companies have been destroyed by unions pumping and sucking higher wages, draining the profitability and thus sustainability of that said company? Thus, how many jobs have unions destroyed? They were necessary to combat abuse in the late 19th, early 20th century, but like all revolutionary movements throughout history, the revolutionary became the tyrant.

I know a little more than nothing about the Soviet Union (Russia was one of the Soviets in the republic, not the country, sir) — I have spent time in the former Soviet Union before it collapsed and I was a International Affairs major at two universities– one the U here, Minneapolis and the other a much better school than the U.

  21. By BE SANE & SERIOUS on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

In 92 when Clinton won, it was mainly due to the small recession ( constituencies generally vote on economics of no major war or foreign policy issue is present) but later, about a year later, the news reported and apologized that by economic indicators the country was out of the recession while G. Bush Sr was still in office– has the news accurately stated the facts, Clint ion would never been elected in 92.

Here is something from a Canadian perspective. For years, Canada was in a constant nervous state, worrying about Bush leading you guys into a major WW., which as always, we would join you as allies. I think Obama’s popularity #s are higher in Canada now than in the States.

  25. By BE SANE & SERIOUS on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

firechild, that is a poor argument– everyone respects Colin Powell, and by the way, Powell endorsed your Obama, but Powell himself presented on the weapons of mass destruction– yes, we have not found any yet, but that was not a personal decision by GW to invade Iraq– I could write a few pages to support my claim, but this is a blog– plus it is a fact Saddam tried to kill a former US president– regardless if the man in office was his son, that leader tried to kill one of our former US president– you can spin it to fit your idea GW made it personal, or you can spin it more objectively. Don’t get me wrong, war is horrible and I do not wish it on anyone.

  28. By fire childress on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

Bush thought starting a war would reduce the unemployment rate. it costs over 200,000 dollars to send a soldier to war. you can create jobs cheaper than that !!

  29. By BE SANE & SERIOUS on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

That mess was caused by a number of factors, many of them due to globalization, but domestically, much of the problem lay with certain politicians, pushing entitlement programs so anyone could get a mortgage, thus many who could not afford homes bought anyway, and many greedy individuals kept purchasing homes in a rising home market that had writing on the wall for about 5 years or more before the collapse– in 2005 or so even USA today, a free and highly circulated newspaper reported on their front page that the housing market bubble is so over inflated and will one day burst. China and the other billion plus nation of India have come into the world market– that is a whole huge blog, but the effects from these players on the stage in energy and trade — well, let’s just say to blame GW is such an oversimplification– we are in a great transition in powers in world history– things will never be the same– time to adapt.

    Be Sane-
I will debate you…………I , also challenge the notion that Reagan was such a good president…..everyone seemed to think he was such a great orator, but more than likely he had some very intelligent speech writers, spin doctors, and no doubt a persuasive cadre of savy advisors.
After all, he was not that good of an actor, as evedenced by his unforgettable “Bedtime for Bonzo” and other B movies………
    He acted with chimps………

BTW George W might indeed have been the first “humanzee” on record…certainly the very first to have reached the pinnacle of US public office, although arguable under questionable voting irregularities.
His 3trillion dollar desert debacle. The very 1st time we have gone to war as a pre-emptive ,though misguided policy to try and ensure our safety……even though no connections were made with 9-11 and Saddam Hussein.
Then of course, we have endorsed waterboarding ..and a complete failure to act on behalf of the people in dire need from Katrina.
I would say that his presidency was an embarrassment, bordering on crimes against humanity, and a complete dereliction of his duites.

our guys better get there heads out of there @sses if they want to beat the packers. they get paid millions of dollars to play football. and they dont even try. there starting to get on my nerves. losing is one thing, but you can tell that they give up on plays. its sickening. if they would all play with heart like favre, harvin, and peterson does, we would be winning right now. im tired of sticking up for them. they need to wake up. and for starters, chilly needs to get the heck out of dodge. the dome is gonna be full of packer fans, thats a given. but alot of our fans have abandoned ship alredy so there may be just as much packer fans as viking fans at the dome.

  75. By fire childress on Nov 20, 2010 | Reply

even if we win this game, our playoff chances are almost 0. chilly put us in a hole were not going to climb out of. i think there is a realistic chance of losing the last 6 of 7 games. that would probably give us the 4th overall pick in the draft. we could trade up to pick #1 if we had to for a quarterback. Vick won’t be available, philly will secure him with a long term contract

  76. By fire childress on Nov 20, 2010 | Reply

as far a alot of Packer fans in the dome, thats the only way we sell out the game. our last 3 home games may not sell out. that doesn’t help out the stadium bid at all.

  77. By soldier1986 on Nov 20, 2010 | Reply

we need home field advantage big time for this game. like last year. if you notice durin the games this year, its so quiet in the dome. the playes need that motivation. if i were lucky enogh to go to a game, i would yell the whole time. but there wll be alot of packer fans there so it wont really feel like hom field advantage.

  78. By soldier1986 on Nov 20, 2010 | Reply

well guys i should share something with you. i live in california. and from what i have heard here, there are a few teams that are on the list to move to L.A. the vikings are one of them. but there not high on the list. i doubt they will move. the raiders are on the top of the list. san dieg believe it or not. the saints were on the top list before there superbowl. so if saints fans run there mouths, just tell them they were really close to losing there team. but as in right now, the raiders and chargers are on the top list. they even have a stadium being built. go to yahoo.com and type will l.a. get a football team. then click on the first site you see. you will see the the stadium in a blue print form. its cool

  79. By fire childress on Nov 20, 2010 | Reply

yeah, the only reason i want us to win this game is so packer fans don’t come on this site and do their bragging trip. as it sits now our playoff chances sit at 2 percent, so i don’t have my hopes up. not worth the pain that will come when we get knocked out of playoffs
