Berrian Practices, Packers Add Pair To Injury Report

Posted by Mike Wobschall on November 18, 2010 – 3:38 pm

There was only one change to the Vikings injury report on Thursday, as WR Bernard Berrian (groin) took part on a limited basis after sitting out on Wednesday.

Green Bay had a few changes, including the addition of both FB Korey Hall (back) and C Scott Wells (arch), who were limited in practice. T Chad Clifton (knee) and TE Andrew Quarless (shoulder) were both limited on Wednesday but were full participants on Thursday.

Vikings Head Coach Brad Childress met with reporters after practice on Thursday and indicated that decisions on both Berrian and Sidney Rice won’t be made until later in the week. Lastly, with S Eric Frampton sitting out his 2nd consecutive day of practice, it’s good news that CB Asher Allen (concussion), CB Chris Cook (knee) and S Jamarca Sanford (hamstring) were all full participants on both Wednesday and Thursday.

like Mike Lombarti said a few weeks ago, Chilly doesn’t have the communication and leadership skills to to lead the Vikings to the superbowl. thats why when Chilly gets fired here, he will never be a head coach in the NFL again

  2. By arahn on Nov 18, 2010 | Reply

Chilly getting paid $$$ to be HC of this team was like winning the lott3ry for a cr@ppy O-coordinator.

  3. By fire childress on Nov 18, 2010 | Reply

chilly is laughing inside. he extorted 14 million from a billionaire. thats a feat in itself

  4. By arahn on Nov 18, 2010 | Reply

Who’s laughing more, Chilly or the Philly team that got rid of him?

  5. By arahn on Nov 18, 2010 | Reply

OH! I forgot to use constructive criticism… How about, if we fired Chilly now we will have a head start at recruiting a replacement HC before the end of the season when other teams will be looking for one.

HEY YOU, VIKINGS PLAYERS! THIS IS IT! LOADHOLT — McCINNIE — BERRIAN — D-LINE — GET IT TOGETHER!!

OK, OK, I KNOW YOU HATE CHILDRESS ( SO DO WE – THE NOT SO SILENT MAJORITY ), BUT THE BOTTOM LINE THAT YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT, WHILE IT’S OBVIOUSLY A BUSINESS TO YOU, IT’S NOT A BUSINESS TO US, THE FANS.

YOU PLAYERS KNOW THAT THE PLAYERS COME & GO. THE COACHES COME & GO. EVEN THE OWNERS COME & GO — BUT US, THE MINNESOTA VIKINGS FANS?

WELL WE STAY – AND WE STAY FOREVER!

SO I DON’T GIVE A %^#$ REGARDING YOUR FEELINGS ABOUT YOUR CONTRACT, CHILDRESS, BEVEL, OR ANYONE! WHY? BECAUSE I’M A MINNESOTA VIKINGS FAN WHO’S BEEN REPEATEDLY TEASED BY DIVISION TITLES & THE PLAY-OFFS, BUT I HAVEN’T EVEN HAD A SNIFF OF A SUPERBOWL SINCE THE LAST TIME THE POPE LOOKED UP A GIRL’S DRESS!!

SO I DON’T CARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO GET IT DONE, BUT I PERSONALLY WANT YOU TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO RUN THE TABLE THE REST OF THIS SEASON.

YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY NOW TO START WITH GREEN BAY.

all i can say is wow! 1 bottom of the barrel coach flushes our whole season down the toi let. the sad part is, this was our last chance to win a superbowl. now we have to REBUILD AGAIN for several years ! thanks Chilly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great! Bernard “can’t catch a cold ” Berrian might be back! What about Hank “hands of stone” Baskett?

  15. By meswant on Nov 18, 2010 | Reply

1 – defence needs to dominate like last year
2 – receivers catch & hold onto the ball!!
3 – o-line give Brett protection & AP running lanes

Time for the Vikings to earn their pay cheques!!
For every dropped ball or every time Brett goes to the ground, the player in question should have to dip into their wallets & pay back the team so they can bring in guys who can do the job!!!

I see the Bears have the hardest part of their schedule coming up– very easy to see them lose 4 more, minimum. If we can knock out Green Bay Sunday, they have at least two more games which are very difficult for @ PATRIOTS and @FALCONS—and a couple more where the Pack could lose– at best I see the Pack with 11 games– at the best– soooooooooooooooooo, Vikings need to just take care of biz one game at a time– you never know– maybe division champs for the third year? As long as it is possible, I say– BAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

So many fans bash me for expecting and hoping for a chance at the division which is a possibility– so let me ask these bloggers– Why do you spend so much time following a team, watching the games 3 hours a week, blogging when you expect they will lose? Why? Either you are more out of touch than you claim I to be, or deep down you are hoping, just hoping that we will make good on that chance we actually have. Otherwise, if you are so sure I and Fred are in lalaland, why bother following this team? Makes no sense.

  66. By fire childress on Nov 18, 2010 | Reply

anyway, the Vikings haven’t won a road game in almost a year, that’s a sign of bad coaching, and they are .242 on dirt fields. any team that loses 3 out of 4 games because of a different playing surface needs a new coach asap

2.Bears should have lost to the Lions if it was’nt for the blown overturned Johnson TD.
3.Vikes should have beat the Pack with the Shiancoe TD and challenged Pack TD
3.Vikes lost to Miami and the Bears get to play them with their 3rd string QB.

Timing is everything. Maybe last year the guys played more inspired, and played against weaker competitition. Bears are catching some breaks, Pack has caught a few breaks as well. Because of the physical nature of this game, either team or both could lose a key player on the next snap of the ball. I don’t wish for injuries. When you have the chance to win, you make the best of it. Vikes need to keep the focus on SUNDAY. THE PLAYOFFS START SuNdAy! But please! Please! PLEASE consider this. At least let Favre go no huddle to start the game to set the tempo, or script and call the first 20-25 plays. Losing close while having control is still losing. Above all, have some fun and mix it up a bit. Maybe have Loadholt run the ball on a reverse. Put Antoine a nose tackle and Pat Williams at cover corner. Yes, the last two sentences were nuts, but insanity is doing the same thing over and over and hoping to get different results.

you don’t want Parcells as a coach, trust me. fire chilly, replace him with frazier and see how things work out. I honestly believe that we are done for the playoffs but we can still play hard and make the rest of our season respectful. Use this time to start playing other players. I think we need to really look at whether Sidney Rice is a fit for our team. I see a lot of potential problems with him. If he doesn’t want to play, then activate him where he can sit on the benches and complain about splinters in his a$$.

  153. By mike, the lost vike on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

lito must be chilly’s pet child. What do you mean it’s not about the coaches. So Lito, if we brought in a great coaching staff compared to the one we have now, your telling me you guys would play the same. Have some more crack…….Ask Lito to define what coaching is, better yet, have Lito write an essay about coaching.

  154. By mike, the lost vike on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

Lito, a good coach would have realized last week that you guys were slipping and falling all over in Chicago then replaced your footwear with longer spikes. A good coach would have got Moss more involved in the game so we wouldn’t have had the break down. Imagine an offense with Rice and Moss as receivers, Harvin and Shanco in slots, Petersen in the backfield, and not to forget QB Favre, Jackson, and the rookie Webb.

@Be Sane- What we are trying to say is players do not want to play for Childress – they don’t care. Even if we do. Watch the tape. Look at the tackles. Watch Shaincoe when he goes to catch the ball and misses. It’s a great act. Those were sure catches last year. Peterson’s 1 yard end-zone stops. The only one playing is Percy and that’s because Brad called him out. Yes, they played tough late against the Cardinals, but the Cardinals gave that game up also if you watch it again. Shaincoe and Percy laughingly and literally ran the same route on that last touchdown. Maybe it’s the beer talking but as much as I hate to say it, I have a sneaking suspicion that this will be an embarrassing defeat for Minne in the Dome on Sunday. Which will suck by enlarge considering the celebration of JR’s HOF ring.

Because I am a die-hard fan I will watch the game this Sunday in hopes we get to see Rice back in action. The Bears, while beating the depleted Dolphins last night, looked awful. There is still a glimmer of hope if we can beat the Packers. Please Brett, either scramble or take the sack on Sunday. We can’t overcome endless INTs.

  213. By BE SANE & SERIOUS on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

VAVike– I will let you in on a secret– actually I have said this here and there in my posts– I believe our coaching has been horrible– I can, like any of you, go to specific moments in games where common sense said to do one thing, and we did the opposite— and it cost us at least three games– just one call per each.
As long as Chilly is there, though, I do not think if I complain and cry that it will do any good– I am not some stupid smiling cow, but I do like to keep an upbeat attitude and enjoy the day without too much complaining– I will also say– I told several friends that if we lost to the Patriots, Chilly would be gone, guaranteed– I was really shocked he wasn’t fired then– would have been the best timing, we still would have Moss and maybe a great coach– and we would be ahead of the Bears.

Also, I know a lot of people take what’s said on this blog too seriously. I just want to state for the record: I do not wish Chilly or any player we’re frustrated with any ill will or physical harm.

I am sure they are all good people outside of the game, and they should be respected outside of the game.

On the other hand, I feel that when I pay for tickets, dedicate my Sunday’s to go to the games, that I have a right to voice my opinion when I am upset with the performance. That’s all. I am not here as I know most are not here to offend anyone.

@fire childress – You know, I always wondered why we didn’t grab Vick in the first place when he was available, same with Donovan – he said he wanted to come here. Again comes back to coaching – Reid had a vision and saw it through, that’s the difference.

Just ask Fran, and the boys about playing hurt! Would Bud put up with the girls produced by today’s system? What of Bud Grant, would he be willing to coach once more? Now they want a stadium like the old metropolitan stadium. Just like we old fans wanted before that dump of a dome in ST. Paul MN. Why ST. Paul and not some outlining area for ease of access? Well I say no new Stadium until they the Vikings win the super bowl. At this time, they have not earned it!

Owners who can pick a winning staff and keep an eye out for multiple idiotic blunders are what the vikings need. Les Steckle, Dennie Green, Mike Tice and now Childress is a horrific legacy. If we even had an average coach in ’98 and last year we would have won at least one superbowl in that span. * Wilf get the f#ck out of Minnesota you pansy.

REALIST– after 10, 11, 12 losses? That is not reality– that is conjecture — right now we have 6 losses, that is reality. Reality is Sunday we will beat the Packers, reality is 4 of our last 7 games are at home– reality is the Bears have a very difficult stretch, reality is Rice is back, Peterson is the best running back in football, and reality is Favre still has a lot of magic and he IS playing his heart out. Reality is the road of 7 games is before us– not behind us.

That’s not a lot to crow about BSAS, how are you?

  337. By BE SANE & SERIOUS on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

Reality– last year we won our 10 out of our first 11– everyone was excited, then we lost several and we still made it to the championship game. So what if our season is a flip flop of last year– why can’t we win the next 7? Why not? YES WE CAN!!!

  338. By NovaScotiaVike on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

Reality is 3 or 4 players who try hard will not result in a playoff team.

Writing– effective use of sources — covers a lot of ground, from thesis development to engaging sources to analysis of logic of a source’s argument to summarizing, paraphrasing, and citation method.

  346. By mrsmiff on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

You’re not being a realist, Nova. You’re just being negative, and that’s not the same thing. We can beat the P3ckers on Sunday. If that doesn’t happen, then I’ll accept the season as being lost, and look toward next year. But until then I will keep hope alive.

  347. By NovaScotiaVike on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

Nova, Yeah, it is interesting,– I am with two others and we developed it because the dean wanted plagiarism addressed– we took the approach that if someone wants to intentionally plagiarize, we can’t stop it. But if we can show how to engage a source and add it with others to your discourse to support your thesis— well we have shown you what to do– then it is up to you. Tomorrow is

Wow, this one is still going on. lol. BTW, I love how Packer fans come on and make our concern their concern and they really seem worried. Mocking when they should be basking. So, after the long nap and in a moment of sobriety, I figured I would through this prediction out there.

Vikings 214, Packers 2 <- (They put T-Jack in late and he takes a safety).

That should please the horn blowers.

  362. By BE SANE & SERIOUS on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

Packattack— there are more with me than with them– they occasionally come one and tell me so, but the naysayers bash them and tell them off— what a group– they hate Packer fans and they hate Viking fans– who are these intruders?

    correction– come on– *not one

  364. By Packattack! on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

Lol the worst thing that could happen to the Vikings is if Brett Favre had a big enough game where the Vikes scored over 200 pts. He’d be playing till he was 70 because he “still has it”, and Childress would let him.

  365. By purplerainmain on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

@Packattack! – Everyone is different, general rule of thumb for me is to pull for our division when it comes to the playoffs, should the Vikes fail. I even felt bad for the Pack losing such a tough payoff game against the Cards last year. Aaron Rodgers is a h3ll of a quarterback.

For the younger fans: The reason all of these guys bring up the ole’ days – is because that’s when guys were playing football. Making 100-200K per year to put food on the table. Now, at the end of the day – it’s just about money no matter who you pull for, how you feel, how I feel, doesn’t matter – it’s just air. It’s just entertainment.

Have some fun, don’t take it so serious.

@Be Sane – What are you a fan of with this team right now? – Where does the puppy dog enthusiasm come from? Ignorance, Denial or Nostalgia?

  366. By BE SANE & SERIOUS on Nov 19, 2010 | Reply

favre at 70 on the field– I can see it now, he is in a wheeled little cart with plexiglass protecting him, like the Pope. Then he has his arm attached to a little sling that helps catapult the ball– and Aikman, saying wow, look at that bullet the gray fox threw!

Here is one definition of fanatic: Pertaining to, or indicating, fanaticism; extravagant in opinions; ultra; unreasonable; excessively enthusiastic, especially on religious subjects; as, fanatic zeal; fanatic notions.

I believe, this fits just about everyone that comments here.

    @Packattack:
Before you stay on this blog, and continue to bash everyone, let’s take a little stroll down Packer memory-lane. Wasn’t it your hero Rodgers who “kicked” his own fumble into the arms of the Cardinal defense, thus ending the Pack’s run for the championship? And if we go back even further, to a time when nobody in Packerland gave a sh#t about football because Don “Magic Man” was at QB, who was it that pulled Green Bay’s arse out of the morgue and placed them on the map again? BRETT FAVRE!!! We love our Vikings, we love our team!!!!! Go back to Cheese-land; the keg needs changing. SKOL, VIKINGS!! VICTORY WILL BE OURS SUNDAY!!!!!

Packattack!,you are a liar! the pack have NOT made the playoffs the past two years as you stated earlier!!!!!They were 6 and 10 Rodgers first year!!! How could the rest of you let this idiot onto our site and not call him or her out on this BOLDFACE LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  371. By BE SANE & SERIOUS on Nov 20, 2010 | Reply

Probably because we pay no attention to him. Who cares? Vikes will win Sunday, then Atlanta and New England will hand Green Bay two more losses. They may win their others, but Green Bay will lose a minimum of three more.

  372. By UBRETT-CHA on Nov 20, 2010 | Reply

    Reasons for Sunday’s Game:
    (1). We NEED this win.
    (2). It’s a divisional rival.
    (3). It’s the Packers!
Mix or match in any order or combination and it still adds up to a Vikings victory!!! SKOL, VIKINGS!!!! (how does that go, ‘Sane?) “BAAAAAAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO……” (Vikings’ horn–love it, man!) Since you have been so sure of Vikings winning, and guaranteeing us to win every week ,only to find we have lost……..Why don’t you try and start guaranteeing the opposition wins….So the Vikes might begin to turn things around……
Quit doing us harm by cheering for us, since it has obviously not had the intended effect you so frequently boast about.

Under Bud Grant the Vikings dominated. We need another Bud! Not the knucklehead coach we have now. Thinking about it, we need a new coaching staff. I think we need new management as well. What we need to do is get rid of the players unions and the collective bargaining agreements. We need to get back to the early football rules when men knew how to play the game not like the pansies of today. I think the rules of the 1940’s would do.
