Harvin Won’t Practice Wedneday; Vikings Make Roster Move

Posted by Mike Wobschall on November 10, 2010 – 11:59 am

Vikings Head Coach Brad Childress just finished up his regular Wednesday press conference and we’ll have plenty to share later here on the vikings.com Blog. In the meantime, though, there are some odds and ends to take care of before the team heads outside to begin on-field preparations for the Chicago Bears.

The last question Childress was asked during his meeting with reporters was about WR Percy Harvin and how much he’d be able to practice on Wednesday given his ankle injury. As it turns out, Harvin will be held out of practice on Wednesday and it’s not because of the ankle.

Childress told reporters that Harvin is not in the building and won’t practice because he came down with a migraine. Childress did not go into any details regarding Harvin’s status, saying that there is a plan to get him back in playing condition. It should be noted that while Harvin has dealt with migraines frequently with the Vikings, he returned relatively quickly from his last episode.

Childress also told reporters that Colt Anderson, formerly on the Vikings practice squad, has been signed by the Philadelphia Eagles and will be placed on their 53-man roster. The Vikings filled the practice squad spot with CB Cord Parks, Childress said.

We’ll be back with more thoughts and updates from today’s press conferences.

Oh wow, I was SWEATING it when I read the story – WAS VERY GLAD that it said “Childress told reporters that Harvin is not in the building and won’t practice because he came down with a migraine.”

    INSTEAD OF READING -
“Childress told reporters that Harvin is not in the building and won’t practice because he been placed on waiver.

Colt Anderson was signed by another team lol, Brad Childress has nothing to do with that. ANYONE can sign a player off our practice squad. Good for Colt, hard work paying off.

Nonetheless, I still say fire childress

I seriously can’t believe that Childress did not sign Colt Anderson, with our depleted Safeties, why not give the kid a shot? Now watch he becomes a Star Safety in Phillie.

hey i just heard there was a cure for migranes, fire the friggin coach…
he was 4 minutes away from that happening monday, and brett saved his a s s.

What I meant was why didn’t we sign him? Childress has control over him leaving. He let a very talented player leave, while picking up someone who isn’t very good.

I bet Chilly is a major cause of some of Percy’s headaches .Heck he has been giving Vikings fans a headache for years. Please Ziggy fire this guy .Leslie Frazier is better fit for this team and he will bring you a Superbowl…….remember Mike Tomlin and Tony Dungy …..ah you get the picture

I’m happy for Colt Anderson. I watched him as a Grizzly at U of Montana. He is good football player with alot of determination. The Eagles got a good player.

Colt is a lttle on the smaller size for NFL safetys but a great special teams player. Can’t blame the Eagles for picking him up.

Don’t get me started on Childress, I try very hard to forget that he is there!!!

There once was a coach named Childress, Who very much lacked finesse,He thought his job he could save, If only Ziggy he could waive!

There’s not much you can do about a practice squad signing. im not even sure if the Vikings knew until after the fact. Too bad though, he was a good player.

Well, if we get a voice in who we WANT as Head Coach of the Vikings – I want BRETT FAVRE

YES, FAVRE for HEAD COACH !!!

Just one more disappointment, but Chilly wasn’t using him anyways. I actaully thought that Colt was a much better safety than Abdullah, Frampton or Sanford and that he deserved a shot at the starting role.

I wouldn’t want Favre as a head coach, would make a good high school coach not nfl

Miami released a corner or safety today who started 7 games. They signed Al Harris in his place. WHAT”S UP WITH THE PHILLY connection! Why does it seem that these two teams are swapping guys out all the time. Brad, PLEASE! Their are other teams in the N.F.L! I do like Greg Lewis. He always seems to hustle, and his hustle creates success. A long injury list again, but some teams exaggerate injuries, other teams downplay them. Let’s hope we’re healthy enough to play our best game start to finish Sunday!

It would be nice if the Vikes’ last 4 minutes versus the Arizona game be the spark needed for the team to win consistently in the remaining games. Head coaching position is still Childress job to lose. Winning is the antidote for getting fired. Go Vikings!
