Mike, do you think Berrians yellow shoes were the key to his success in this game?

Good job, good effort, will the guys get a day off?
I like that they kept in it. down 14 points with four minutes left, i can’t wait to talk to the guys in the group this week. What an uplifting win, and desperately needed.

With Berrian having a good game for us do you think the vikings will start trusting him more enough to get him the ball a lot throughout the game.

The vikings defense finally started to look like last years D. Do you think this has to do with Leslie Frazier’s superior coaching ability over Childress, or do you think Childress just doesn’t have any coaching ability?

Now that Chris Cook is starting to gain some more experience, do you see him possibly starting next week against the Chicago Bears?

why dont we let favre do the play calling? it seemed when we ran the no huddle offense we moved the ball down field but then when the plays were called in we didnt go far is this what has been our problem all year is the play calling? just 1 more reason to put the nail in childress coffin. FIRE CHILDRESS!!!

brian I agree, Favre could coach this team to a superbowl.

  12. By Frederick Jones on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

The Vikings had great pass protection today. Favre set a personal record in passing yardage, and had a great passer rating.

  13. By Garrett on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

I agree that childress is a lousy coach and leader, but what happens if we fire him? I desperately want Leslie Frazier to be head coach, but is he a leader? If childress stays do we allow him to keep “head coach” but “bench” him for the rest of the season? How do we fix the turnover, pass defense, and penalty problems? I thought this was a professional football team that has played football their entire lives? Anyway, I love the Vikings and hope and pray they make the playoffs and finally win that elusive Superbowl. SKOL VIKES!!!!!

Amazing comeback win today! Up until about 4 minutes left in the game, I was ready to call it quits on the Vikings for the year. Favre, AP, Visanthe, and the Defense came up huge in the 4th quarter and OT and won the game for us. 1 game does not change the situation with Childress. FIRE CHILDRESS ZYGI!!!

The media blows everything way out of proportion. They are looking for a story. If they can’t find one, they make one up!! (ESPN is also media, although sometimes they show both sides.)

  22. By Frederick Jones on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

If the media does “get a story,” like the Tiger Woods fiasco, they even manage to blow that so out of proportion you get sick of hearing about it! Notice we rarely see stories about Adrian Peterson. (A few short highlight films, yes. Stories? No)

  23. By Frederick Jones on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

Bill Clinton, O.J. Simpson, etc. If you are over 30 you know what I mean. The media sensationalizes everything. Why? Because they can!

Just send Chilly “Down The Road” and take T.J. with him! Let’s start a rebuild now, instead of waiting. Rice you gonna play ball this year. Come ON!

  25. By Conner on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

Our protection of Favre seems so poor. He needs the ball in shotgun to give him the extra fraction of a second to get the ball out on short routes. How can we stretch anyone’s defense when we don’t allow protection? Mc Kinney knows whose coming for him next week. JULIUS PEPPERS!

  26. By Frederick Jones on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

If “All Day” did something remotely wrong, it would be all over the media. He could be innocent. It doesn’t matter. Score 3 TDs, ho hum.

  27. By Conner on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

I think Brett has the necessary “Cardio Endurance” to run the 2:00 minute drill. Let’s start the game with a hurry up. Every time the defense gets a 3 and out go no huddle and keep the foot on the gas!

  28. By Alex Collyard on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

First off, I’m sick of the fire Brad talk. I fully support you Coach. This team just needs to suck it up, ignore all this silly drama and start getting the full support of it’s fans. We can talk about firing Chiildress after the season’s over, but let’s PLEASE get through this one.

    On to my question:

The way the boys played today in the 3rd and 4th quarter was phenomenal. I was watching a football team. The guys were so energized and you could feel it in your home through the TV. It’s like they just snapped out of a trance and said “We’re fed up, and we’re not gonna take this anymore!” How are they going to keep this energy going into the big Chicago game next week? Is the feeling in the locker room that we’ve finally found our niche? What’s your opinion?

  29. By Frederick Jones on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

Tavaris Jackson will be an All-Pro. If Coach Childress gets through the current fiasco, he will have a long career as the Vikings head coach.

  30. By Frederick Jones on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

Alex, I agree with your take on our coach. Whether you like him or not, put your feelings aside until the end of the season. The Vikings still have a chance to do something. All this negativity hurts the Vikings now, and in the future. Research the Lions, and Chiefs if you do not believe me.

  31. By Conner on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

Frederick Jones: Favre got tagged all day long, but the quick slant saved our bacon. Second and goal from the 3 and Mc Kinney backpedals and ushers a hit on Favre as he throws and the interception in the end zone. They still have some work to do in their protection schemes.

  32. By Frederick Jones on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

Certainly you have heard that a qb controversy hurts a team. It’s the same for a coach.

  33. By Frederick Jones on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

Conner, yes there is room for improvement. Perhaps you would like to sign up?

  34. By Conner on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

Cowher and Gruden are expensive to hire now as they have to be bought out of their broadcast contracts. Plus they’ve both indicated they have no desire to rescue a team mid-season. Jerry Jones inquired this week according to Ed Werder of ESPN. It’s expensive now for Wilf to dump Childress. A month from now if we’re 7-5, we’ll be glad that we’re watching a football team committed to playing hard.

  35. By Conner on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

Frederick Jones: Thanks for calling me out. I’m 165 pounds ringing wet, and I have to run around in the shower to even get wet. I don’t think Brett Favre is looking for my kind of help. HA!

  36. By K'net on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

The ‘hurry-up offense’ really seemed to get the offense motivated, is there any chance we could see them open up that way against the Bears, just for a series or two, to get them focused and motivated?

  37. By Frederick Jones on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

Conner, There’s no doubt the O-Line could play better. They started out slow and were not allowing Favre any time. Then they started to use shotgun, short routes, and etc., just like you said. This was the best our passing game has been this year. Perhaps Sidney Rice will bring an immediate improvement as well. It is great to have Center John Sullivan back.

  38. By Frederick Jones on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

K’net, What I have heard about playing the 2 minute offense the whole game is that they would get too tired. I also would like to see 2 minute offense the entire game. They say it is unrealistic.

  39. By Conner on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

It would be nice to be ahead 10 points at the start of the 4th quarter and able to run some time off the clock. But, as long as we’re ahead at the end of the 4th quarter I won’t be fussy.

Have you realized that the only time the Viking offense looks good is during the 2 minute offense. I was wondering if you think this is a coaching problem. I know you can’t run a 2 min offense the whole game, but you should be able to score more points in the first 57 minutes than the last 3. Correct me if I’m wrong, but our offensive minded head coach maybe isn’t that smart, and if you can’t get along with 2 HOFers, in Favre and Moss, and the most exposive player on the team in Harvin, there is something wrong with your ego.

The O-line is still having issues. Both interceptions, especially the second one was due to poor pass pro. They were overwhelmed several times when they outnumbered the defensive rush and Favre paid the price. The running lanes were few and far between. It opened up at the end when the pass loosened up the D, but how can they do this without getting Favre pummeled? I think the Vikings have some serious questions the remainder of the year on how they can move forward. Are these guys underachieving, going downhill, injured or a combination?

  52. By fmfan on Nov 7, 2010 | Reply

Why don’t we stay with 3 wrs set when we run AP on the goal line? We seem to always go 3 tightend set so the D can put 11 in the box.

any viking fan that says fire chilress really has no idea what they are talking about…with 4 road losses to N.E., GB, Jets, and oh yeah the superbowl champs…and we could have won them all…the vikings are in a great position moving forward from this awesome win and will be stacked again next year even with the expected personal losses…and childress is only responsible for all of it…the character that this team showed today was a reflection of their head coach and his desire and ability to win…

I am a Diehard Vikings fan and I almost would have prefered the Vikings to lose to the Cardinals just for the fact Brad Childress might have been fired. Because of this win, Childress will probably keep his job for now. To bring this team out of the soap opera mode it is operating under, Brad Childress needs to be waived/fired! The Vikings have become the punchline for the sports media. My opinion for the Wilf family is to let Brad go and promote Leslie Frazier to head coach for the rest of the season. This would help the team in a couple areas. 1. You would rid the team of the real problem for the Vikings. 2. You can evaluate Leslie Frazier on how he would run the team for next year. At this point in the season, it is highly unlikely the Vikings will make the playoffs with Childress as the coach. Everybody has their opinion and I’m just adding mine. Skoal Vikings. Good Luck against Chicago next week.

  63. By armchairanalyst on Nov 8, 2010 | Reply

Zig – you think the season saving win vs. a mediocre ARI team warrants Childress’ job? Think again. The PLAYERS DON”T respond to him, the PLAYERS NEVER WILL respond to him; therefore, the team won’t go in to any game with the morale, elan, espirit d’ corps, mindset, attitude etc. al. they NEED to raise their level of performance that they will NEED to reach postseason. You want to make a season saving decision, toss Childress, and slide Frazier over. Get this team (players) fired up, and they can cry havoc as you just saw yesterday in the last half of the 4th quarter. I’m still waiting to see this “work in progress,” progress. Here is the real deal — this team essentially needs to win every single game left in regular season play to hope to reach the playoffs. History says a change in head coaching during season play is a recipe for failure; so don’t make that mistake. The answer is Frazier -now!

I know Zigy Wolf thinks he has to wait until the end of the season to make a change at coach;however, I believe it would be in the teams best interest if he acts immediately and promotes Leslie Frasier as head coach due to the fact I believe Childress is a very weak leader and the players can see right though that. If you made this change it probably would ignite a spark and it would show on the field as well. I do realize you have everyone telling you what to do but this would be in the best interest of the VIKINGS.

Just wondering what took Childress so long to start dressing down his players. Harvin needed it. Adrian Peterson (AP…you do know what a “blitz” is)needs it and wow does the offensive line ever need it. I learned in high school football that nobody hits the QB, take the penalty. Let the QB get hit and there is the bench. A coach has to be tough with his players. He isn’t their friend. By the way, as a running back I never missed a blitz. Why? was I just sooo good? NO. I learned the game, and the QB wasn’t just some employee. We were all friends. We protected him. And yes…Childress needs to go. His play selection….clock management…..he would be drummed out of HS football.

Alex and Fred, have you ever played on a sports team. If it is true that the players have lost all respect for the coach and that they don’t like him, then the best thing the owner can do is fire Childress. The players didn’t play for the coach in the 4th quarter, they played for each other. If they were a fully united team, they would of blown Arizona out and not have to rally from behind. Let Frazier take over and see what he’s got. It’s not too late for a Superbowl run. I promise you one thing. That if Childress stays, the vikings will not make the playoffs.

It was a comeback of the players desire to win not coaching. Childress does everything not to win, I’m sure he does what he thinks is best and look at the results. He even has no respect for the owners when he takes it on his own to release Moss. How long does Childress have in Minnesota??

i just listened to both Favre and Chilly’s press conference and I didn’t hear any hits from Favre to Childress but Childress threw some unwanted shots at Brett. Childress is acting like a child, immature and should only be thanking Brett for his great contract he got. The owner should be ashamed of himself, having Childress as a coach. Fire him before he waives Favre and Harvin. What’s next, the NFL vikings are a joke, no dignity left unless Childress is fired and we gain composer again as a team.

I am not a huge fan of Childress however you got to “dance with the girl you bring”.Do you think firing the coach now would be the wrong thing for the team.Do you think allowing Bevell and or Favre to call the plays would be the right thing? Do you like the idea of the hurry up offense? It allows Favre to use his experience and keeps the defense off balance and from making personel changes don’t you think?

Do you think it would be a good idea to bring TJ in on 3rd and short situations? It would add the play action aspect to the now predictable play calling.

They are going to wait until the end of the season to do that. This way, they can talk to potential coaches for next season. THe win by the Vikings were not because of the coach. The win showed what kind of team they are despite all the negative reports regaring the coach, the Moss incident and they have been called out on defense as well as offense as a team and they dug deep & came up with the victory. this had nothing to do with CHilly.

Its a game interceptions will be made and so will bad coaching calls they aren’t machines. Chilly show me some wildcat that would make my day no team would prepare for that.
