Tale Of Two Halves For Peterson, Vikings Defense

Posted by Mike Wobschall on November 1, 2010 – 7:20 am

Adrian Peterson and a stingy defense have been staples for the Vikings during head coach Brad Childress’ tenure in Minnesota and they’ve been nothing short of sensational over the past 2 seasons in leading the franchise to back-to-back division titles and an appearance in the NFC Championship Game.

And it was Peterson and the defense that paced the Vikings in the 1st half of Sunday’s game at New England. Peterson had 68 yards rushing and 1 TD on 18 tries while the Vikings defense held New England QB Tom Brady and Co. to just 107 net yards and 5 first downs in the opening 2 quarters. The Vikings also held a 9-minute advantage in time of possession and had they converted on 4th and goal from the 1 at the end of the half it would’ve been 14-7 in favor of Minnesota.

But it was that New England goal line stand in the waning seconds of the 1st half that turned the tide in favor of the home team. Instead of trailing 14-7 or 10-7 (had the Vikings kicked a FG) at halftime, the Patriots went to the locker room tied at 7 and clearly made some adjustments that led to a resounding 2nd-half performance and ultimately a win.

Peterson’s numbers at the end of the game were solid, no doubt. He finished with 92 yards rushing and the TD on 25 attempts and he also added 5 receptions for 50 yards. But New England held him to just 24 rushing yards in the 2nd half compared to his 68 yards in the opening half. And of course the goal-line snub at the end of the half was a huge turning point in the game. Peterson prides himself on short-yardage rushing and he’s a terrific back in those circumstances, but it didn’t go the right way on Sunday.

The Vikings defense stumbled in the 2nd half as well. New England’s offense was stifled and had it not been for a dropped INT by Madieu Williams, the Patriots may not have scored a point in the first 2 quarters. But the 2nd half was a different story. New England racked up 255 total yards, 13 first downs and 21 points. Especially disheartening was that the Vikings struggled with missed tackles and they allowed RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis to record 108 rushing yards and 2 TDs on 13 attempts in the 2nd half.

A couple of key Vikings defenders summed it up well to the Star Tribune after the loss.

“Obviously we didn’t tackle,” DE Jared Allen said. “I think he was hit at the line of scrimmage almost every time. If you don’t tackle people in this league they’re going to do stuff.”

CB Antoine Winfield described what happened on the game-clinching drive in which Green-Ellis tallied 62 rushing yards on 7 attempts by saying, “They came out the last drive and pretty much ran the ball down our throat up the middle. That’s not something that’s happened around here the last couple of years.”

Winfield is right, that hasn’t happened to the Vikings defense much since Childress took the helm in 2006. The Vikings ranked #1 against the run from 2006-08 and then ranked #2 in that category last year. For the Vikings to make a run in the second half of the season, they’ll need that defense to return to form. Something that is entirely possible.

Also key to a second-half run will be Peterson, who is in the midst of another excellent season. The NFL’s best RB is also the current rushing leader with 776 yards on the season. He’s averaging 4.7 yards per carry and 110.9 per game, excellent numbers.

Yes, the loss to New England on Sunday was a tale of 2 halves for Peterson and the Vikings defense. But if Peterson continues to perform that way he has through 7 games and if the defense makes a few corrections, the Vikings have a chance to make the 2010 season a tale of 2 halves, with the second half a lot better than the first.

ITs simple, Jared Allen is predictable. He always goes outside right…he has no spin move to cut inside so you constantly see linemen push him further outside which causes allen to always be a second or two late.

AP has struggled in the second halfs because he gets worn out. The O-line sucks at protection Brett and at the run. They provide no push for AP , so we see Ap constantly just lower his head and try to muscle 5-6 yards which causes him to get worn out.

Eh, I would love to be optimistic that it’s going to get better, but the rest of the season still looks grim.

I don’t think I have ever seen a coach give up a chance to take the lead and the momentum going into half time by GIVING UP THE THREE POINTS. WOW!
Every one knows we are just going to give it to AP up the middle in those situations… why does Chilly keep doing that.

10-6 gets the Vikes into the playoffs as long as they win the rest of the division games which is very duable considering the division isnt that good.

I feel bad for AP. He is giving it everything he has just to break 2-3 tackles per rush and gain 1-4 yards. JC is right, he is getting tired in the 2nd half because he is shouldering the load. If the offensive line could get a push and move the line of scrimmage forward just a yard or two, those 3-5 yard runs become 5-7 and beyond. What happened to the defense? More specifically the defensive line. I anticipated Jared Allen to have a bit of a down year, but mostly because I thought he would draw alot of double and triple teams, now he is getting beat by 34 year old tackles with bad knees. I thought the Cowboy game last year was supposed to shed light on what to expect from Ray Edwards. He is not playing well for it being a contract year for him. Get it together boys, there is alot of football left, but the door is closing!!!

I don’t think peterson gets tired. I think that the o-line does. If you were watching the game, oline couldnt open any holes or block. The play calling was also predictable. I could predict when they were planning to run the ball and where just by looking at their formation. And that’s why AP got stuffed so many times and thats why the quit running the ball so much. By this point of the season, childress should know better than to go for td instead of a fg on 4th and goal from the 1 . The offensive line sucks. They have failed all season long so far on 4th and goal/1. You could also blame peterson too for not scoring on 4th and 1. He didn’t follow his blocks and went the wrong way. You would expect him to score if he’s the best rb in the nfl. I would in that situation. But bad play calling this game. It would take a miracle to happen for them to go 11-5 but i think they still have a chance of getting a wild card. If they can just get a win, then they could build off that. If they lose to arizona next week, its hard to say this but i will have lost all hope for the team making it to the play offs this year..

Struggling team, extremely struggling team on the road– playing well against a top team in their house– and you do NOT take a guaranteed lead into halftime. Sheer genius. This team needs a new coach. Same type of mistake done in the Miami game.

even the very best teams dont win 9 games in a row many times…but people think we can win 9 in a row when we have beaten two bad teams so far…and lost to quality teams…..the sched is not that easy as people think…we cannot stop the run or the pass when it really counts…or score when we really need to score…this season has been full of bad off season decisions by the gm and the rest of the staff…poor strategy on how to play games, poor in game decision and below average performance by many key players..i hope i am wrong but with so many problems that this team has it is hard to see anything more than 5-4…

  12. By David on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

You need to do everything you can as a coach to get your team out of the slump. A win yesterday would have been a boost to the team in every way– loss after loss begins a psychological toll. It is not healthy– momentum works both ways. We had chances to win in every game– we have one of the best run defenses, etc– WHO keeps saying that? You do not get to the Superbowl as a paper tiger living in yesterday’s memories. Today’s performance is a reflection of identity. The team needs to taste victory. I have been positive and supported Childress, but I have always known he made some poor calls– but enough is enough. We need a new coach. Even if we get to the playoffs under Childress, how will we survive?

  13. By fire childress on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

when your the head coach, the players have to buy in to what your selling. the players are not buying !!! when you let the clock tick down to nothing with 40 seconds left and 2 timeouts, with a chance to score at least a field goal, your telling the team you don’t trust them. chilly lost the team. we can’t make the playoffs with Chilly aboard period !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. By Tony on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

The better talented team will usually lose if no leadership and lack of intelligence (Childress). Add Chris Cook to the list of cannot tackle and a draft pick bust. We will finish 8-8, no playoffs and no team to build on with no QB, aging talent and no leadership. Life long Viking fan here but realistic

  15. By fire childress on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

we will not even make 8-8 if Chilly is still here. maybe 5-11

  16. By xvike on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

Very true. It’s hard to believe that they will go on a 9 game winning streak when they have only beaten 2 bad teams and lost to 5 good ones. Sure, only one play made the difference in the games we lost except this last one, but it doesn’t matter if we don’t get the win. The effort we put in those games don’t matter if we don’t even get the win. It only matters if you are a team like the lions (who we are currently tied with) rams, etc. But its no exception for a team like ours. It’s ridiculous that we are tied with the lions! I too had been positive and supported childress because you don’t get anything out of negativity except more negativity but he has got to go. The only thing i would thank him for is putting together this superbowl team that he failed to coach. He did put this team together after all. B4 he got here, i can’t even remember if we had anything good going for us. But he needs to step down now and let someone else finish the job he couldn’t.

Didn’t watch the game because I knew the Vikings would lose. I’m a Vikings supporter all the way, and I’ll back these guys to the bitter end. Right now, this team has no leadership and no heart. They are suiting up and showing up. But they are playing uninspired football. Like Moss said….it’s a business. They get paid the same whether they are winning or losing. Most have some pride and want to compete and win, but if your leader doesn’t inspire- the paycheck will do. When I got home from my day, I checked my key stat ( I know stats don’t matter). Third down efficiency…. 4/11 for 36%. I didn’t need to watch the game. If Zygi is reading this, let Favre call ALL the plays in the huddle as well as audible. I’ll remind you about a cold game in Chicago last year……..the Vikings haven’t been the same since. Bevell doesn’t call the offense- Childress does, or he wouldn’t carry the play chart. What Pro team did Childress drive down the filed with when he played in the NFL? Yeah…..that’s my point.

Yep. The season isn’t over yet but i don’t understand how a qb goes from having arguably the best season in his career to his worst the next year. I don’t think he’s ever played this bad before. He did a good job last game but horrible in the games we lost. (probably y we lost)

  25. By David on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

PLEASE ZIGI– You are a fantastic owner and are not stingy– You do everything you can to make a championship for Minnesota– take the loss of Chilly’s contract, which from what I see, as a billionaire, you can absorb the cost, and bring in a new coach this week. What cost of missed opportunities? Life is so short and this year we had a window leftover from last year, but that window is almost closed. Maybe, just maybe, if we get a new coach we can still do it. Brian Billick still loves the Vikings- you can see and hear it when you watch him. He was 15-1 as offensive coordinator when we had a horrible defense. PLEASE Zigi– you have shown you will do whatever it takes- this coach is making crucial mistakes that everyone can see is costing us a once in 20 year chance.

Unfortunately I only saw the 2nd Half. It’s hard to win on the road in the NFL. Even last year the Vikings were only 4-5 on the road (including the playoffs). 8-8 has made the playoffs in the past. It would be a great finish to go 6-3 the rest of the way. Anything is possible!

  27. By xvike on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

All this talent being wasted on a bad coach who doesn’t know how to motivate, or know how to fix problems or know how to discipline or know how to lead or know how to play call or know how to manage a game. And to think that Favre got him that 5 year contract extension last year. Childress, YOU NEED TO ACT LIKE A HEAD COACH AND PUT 4 WEEKS OF PRACTICE INTO ONE WEEK AND FIX THESE PENALTIES, FIX THESE DROPPED B A L L S BY RECEIVERS, FIX THIS BAD TACKLING, FIX THIS BAD COVERAGE BY OUR DBs, FIX THE PROTECTION PERMANENTLY. BRETT FAVRE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO IS SELF DISCIPLINED AND FIXES HIS OWN MISTAKES THAT WERE PARTLY YOUR FAULT CHILDRESS BECAUSE YOU CANT PROTECT HIM CONSISTANTLY OR GET THESE RECEIVERS TO CATCH THE BALL CONSISTANTLY OR CALL THE GAME THE RIGHT WAY! SO LISTEN TO ME CHILDRESS, I’M A RETIRED COACH AND I’M TELLING YOU THAT YOU, YES YOU, NEED TO LEAD AND FIX THESE PROBLEMS!!! YOU HAVE ALL THE TALENT YOU NEED, MAKE IT WORK!!!

I went to high school in Eden Prairie. I live in Southern California now. Roski is in progress on the new stadium to bring an NFL team back to LA. The second largest market in the U.S. behind New York. Minnesota is dead last…..or is it Jacksonville, in revenue? The renderings of the stadium have purple seats. Roski is going to get a team back out here. The Vikings may come- but Childress won’t be here. Zygi tried to get Minnesota to see that if you build it they will come. Roski and Wilf understand that we in California will go to that new stadium, in the number two market, with a potential 20 million fans- even if fan base is split between Raiders, Chargers, 49ers, …….and ? I feel sorry for Vikings fans, because Vikings players and coaches kids from the Grant era made my high school experience interesting. Where is the Bud Grant Viking toughness? I actually feel bad for you guys. It sucks to know your team is not doing well and the future looks even worse. Every team in the division looks to get better as time goes on but the vikings. Stafford, if he stays healthy, will get the the Lions back to at least contending within 2-4 years…. Cutler will only get better for the bears.. and Rodgers will take the Packers to the playoffs many times before he is done. Where are the vikings going to go once Favre leaves??? Jackson is not going to do it, the team is getting older, and the coaching is not good as your well aware. As much as it pains me to say this, I want the Vikings to be a good team. It makes the rivalry so much better to have great games between the Pack and the Vikes. Perhaps the best thing since the season is lost for you guys is to get the best draft pick avail to get a new QB for the future…. I don’t know. This makes it very hard for AP to run the ball, and does wear him down.AP is just giving it everything to gain 3,4 and 5 yards he ussally has to brake 2-3 tackles every carry to gain 4 -5 yards. AP my hat is off to you!! you are GREAT! New England either makes it to the playoffs every year or they are very close. they have had a winning record every year since Bill B. arrived. and Ditka had a drinking problem when he went to the saints. he was more interested in tipping the bottle then coaching at New Orleans

Hey i don’t blame moss for what he said. He was traded from a very good NE team with a very good qb, coach, players, to a team that is struggling horribly because of their bald midget coach and their aging qb. I’m hoping that at least Favre can turn his season around, but as far as the coaching, play calling, etc., it’ll remain the same as long as childress is in charge. And nothing wrong with what moss said. I’m sure he does miss NE because he put up great numbers when he was with them. He never said he wished that he was still there or anything. But he did say that it is going to take a lot of work and that the season is not over. There’s a good chance he may not even b here next year. LOL there’s a good chance the vikings may not even b here next year!

Adrian is great but he can’t seem to get the long run. It is amazing that he hasn’t fumbled the ball this year! Thank you Adrian! Brett did great even though he is injured. If everyone fought as hard as Brett we would win them all. He tries so hard to win each game. What is wrong with our defense? They let them do anything they want. And the offense is letting Brett get hurt over and over again. And our guys can’t sack their quarterback! Our receivers can’t catch and hang on to the ball. Brett can’t do it all. He can’t catch the ball for them. Sorry Brett that you came back to this. You knew it wouldn’t be the same but I know you didn’t expect this.

Play like it might be your last game. And he shouldn’t throw his team under the bus. He hasn’t played well enough to help them. We need Sidney back! He jumps as high as he can to get the ball and fights for it.

this season for the vikings will end 2-14. The vikings are literally trying to lose, so they will have an excuse to leave Minnesota for LA. 93. By fire childress on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

they are not trying because chilly lost the team. in order to get your players to play at a high level, you have to buy what the coach is selling. players are not buying what chilly is trying to sell. by letting the clock run last week with 40 seconds left and 2 timeouts with a chance for at least a fieldgoal, showed Chilly has no faith in the team. players seen this and are no longer buying what Chilly is trying to sell

He admitted to making that error in his presser. Firing the coach can bring immediate positive change to an organization. What he does well, will be lost. In addition the players could become confused if there is no continuity in the coaching staff. “I don’t know if he will be here next week, or not. Why should I prepare for the future?” The fact the Vikings were 12-4 is could be working against them, similar to what happens to defending Super Bowl Champions.

Firechildress is right– chilly has no respect from the team. The team needs a new coach– heck, I bet Firechildress could do a better job– just let Brett run the offense, take points every time you can and sit back.

While maybe that’s true, I think if they would start T-Jack. It would probably be a rare occasion where he is needed to bring us back in the 4th quarter.

Everyone on this site is ragging everyone but Favre. One of the HUGE differences this year is the fact Favre cannot move away from pressure like he did last year. He is killing our team! Even yesterday, many drives were killed because he could not move away from the pressure fast enough (Remember, two intentional grounding penalties that killed drives)?

Everyone is blinded by the fact he had some good stats and protected the ball, but the fact is, he is SLOW! I believe even T-Jack could put up more points on the scoreboard this year than Favre.

Maybe if they spent more time learning how to coach, or at least on a blitz pickup since the Saints outed the weakness last January, and less time blaming their own players in the media every week I would have some respect for them. Waiving Randy Moss, blaming Favre (bet you liked that contract extension you got because of him didn’t you Chilly), blaming AP for losing the Championship game, on and on….Disgusting and I am ashamed they have Minnesota in front of their name.

    @ Rye and Duane N,
You two are the only ones that are making any sense on this site. Everyone else is blaming Chilly, because they can’t accept the fact that it’s Favre that’s the REAL problem. Facts are facts. His turnovers have resulted in over 50 points for the opponents. We’d be 6-0 going into yesterday’s game had it not been for those turnovers. That’s one of the main reaons why he has the 30th WORST QB rating going into yesterday’s game as well.

The first mistake Chilly made this year was not throwing Favre under the bus after the first loss. The second mistake Chilly made was not benching Favre after the second loss.

At this point, I say start Favre for the remainder of the games. We’ll finish 2-14 and get a high draft pick to replace non-performers like Jared Allen.

Did we really release Moss? the best wide reciever of all time? just get rid of him? this was a really dumb decision. he opened up the field for Harvin. Harvin{as great as he is at slot reciever} is just that:a slot reciever. he doesnt spread the field he makes plays down under. he cant make many plays down under if nobody is stretching the field. No moss= no passing game {even less passing than we already have} no passing=more running, more running makes opponents prepare for the run more, more opp.prepared=less yards, less yards=less first downs, less first downs=more opp. possesion, more opponent possesion=tired Defense. tired D=more opp.yards. Who’s idea was this?

  182. By Viking Fan 28yrs on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

Yes Favre is making mistakes but as a coach you should bench him. That is why the coaching is to blame as well. Childress doesn’t want to look stupid for paying him a lot of money and then benching him. Put Tarvaris or Webb in and get rid of coaching staff.

Just like yesterday, Harvin who usually plays really well, let the defender grab the ball right out of his hands and Favre gets credited with yet another turnover which wasnt his fault. That has happened all year. The ball going through the receivers hands or even hitting them in the chest. I know Favre has made a few bad decisions, but he isnt the main problem on this team. Look at yesterday, Favre had us winning except that Childress goes for it on 4th down and gives up 3 points. Then after Favre left the game, our defense just folded. Stop blaming Favre and start blaming everyone but expecially the head coach!

When will management wake up and fire Brad Childress? Am I the only one who sees him as the cancer to this team? WHO TRADES FOR RANDY MOSS JUST TO RELEASE HIM 3 WEEKS LATER. We pretty much gave NE a third and seventh round pick for….NOTHING. We’re like Obama, giving handouts to whoever wants them. And can we look at his drafting track record…Tavaris Jackson….really. Grant it, he went out on a limb and got Percy, and that’s a great pick. And, we needed someone to try and replace Chester Taylor, so Toby Gerhart, commendable. But Asher Allen a slightly above average college corner, and Chris Cook? Really? If anyone follows the Vikings they know we’re missing a franchise QB (who isn’t Favre although I love Favre with all my heart, he’s my favorite player of all time) and a freaking secondary, primarily SAFTEYS. We passed on Taylor Mays for Chris Cook. Come on man. And whats up with our play calling. I can literally predict our calls in the first half. 1st and 2nd down, run, third pass, fourth punt. My little brother could design schemes to stop that. PLEASE, IF ANY VIKINGS MANAGEMENT WILL READ THIS, PLEASE FIRE BRAD CHILDRESS (and hire Jim Harbaugh from Stanford)!!!! As much as I love the Vikings, which I as a big a fan as the next person, I know that we’ll never reach/win a superbowl with Childress at the helm.

    1. Tavaris Jackson start. He looked good after Favre got taken out. Remeber what happened to the last QB that backed up Favre? Rodgers made the pro-bowl last year and the P***ers are 5-3.
    2. better O-line play: at the start of the game we saw some somewhat decent O-line play, but in our usual way fairly Stunk in the 2nd half.
    3. better coaching decisions : of Childress’s strengths, play calling is not one of them. let the coordinaters call the plays and have Childress just stand around looking important.
    4. RESIGN MOSS. this guy is one of the most important pieces of r offense. please resign moss before the P***ers get him.

When Brett left the field in Green Bay two weeks ago he was hurting physically and emotionally – he and the team just lost to the team that he most wanted to beat – then, the coach in a complete and total lack of respect and empathy, and in complete self-centeredness, threw Brett under the bus…

(Singletary would have shown more empathy – a coach with character and integrity.)

…players listen to what coaches say at press conferences – Brad showed his lack of character then…you cannot regain it by being a tyrant…and by not communicating…by not respecting others…

So let him draft players and sign players {just not release them} and then everybody is happy

If he stays I ( a 45 yr old die hard fan) will not have a problem letting the Vikings move on to Los Angeles, because he is taking them down the road that the Timberwolves have followed the last 7-9 years.

Laura, been there done that– season ticket holder myself in the past, and if I were today, I would make sure my seat is empty come Sunday– having purchased in advance for a seat? — that is irrelevant.
We are paying for entertainment and we should not attend merely because we have paid. Would you continue to go to a restaurant where the food was horrible and you got food poisoning? Would you go evening after evening to plays at a theater when the acting and stage direction were mediocre and you slept halfway through? Would you sit complacently in a car that would not go, because you already paid for it? No- you would not tolerate it. WE are the reason the team exists. The Organization got the whole fan based all excited and now, it continues to take away all level of value. In the marketplace, there are laws of exchange– goods and services of a perceived level of value in exchange for currency. The value of what is being received is mediocre and below what was promised. If I had season tickets to a steak house and every time I went, I got a fast food burger that poisoned me, I would stop going. You miss the point. Do not go- make a statement. Imagine 60,000 blue seats, empty– change would come very fast– believe in that.

At 25% we are better than most of the teams around the leauge. last year we beat the giants {topped ranked Defense in the nfl and near the top in Offense} 44-7. Repeat 44-7 {I would capitalize the score but I cant capitalize numbers.} We own people {Cowboys 34-3 in the playoffs.} when we are at our best and win when we play at least 50%. vbviking, all i said was moss was an idio t. Good riddance. He is disruptive to a team. Funny how the Patriots did not win a Superbowl while Moss was with the team. Getting into the hall of fame is not just about skill, it is about character and clas s. Moss has neither. Just watch his interviews. Moss is a prime example of what has gone wrong with modern athletes. As much as I dislike Favre,(solely based on good fun because he was a career Packer, not real life)) I admit he is a great role model and obviously deserving of immediate entry into the hall of fame. Moss should not get in for several years based on his poor character. He is an uneducated p unk with no clas s or respect for the game or the people who have created the game and the NFL. I realize it is business nowadays but there are much better ways to go about things and better ways to carry yourself than what he has shown. He needs to be bitc h slapped in the biggest way. It is really embaras sing watching him speak. The school systems in this country need some serious upgrades, because this guy is semi- illiterate. He reminds me of Allen Iverson…another p unk that could use a bitc h slap.

    DEAR WILF BROTHERS,

CHILDRESS IS GOOD AT BRINGING IN TALENT AND SHOULD BE PROMOTED TO GENERAL MANAGER AND DARYL BEVEL SHOULD BE PROMOTED TO HEAD COACH FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON. YOU DON’T HAVE TO FIRE CHILDRESS BECAUSE YOU JUST SIGNED HIM FOR 5 YEARS, YOU GET A MANAGER THAT KNOWS TALENT WHEN HE SEES IT BUT JUST DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO EXPLOIT IT. YOU GET A TEMPORARY HEAD COACH THAT KNOWS THE SYSTEM AND KNOWS FAVRE AND WOULD MAKE A GREAT PLAY CALLER AND GAME MANAGER. THE FANS WILL BE HAPPY AND YOU WILL START WINNING GAMES.

This team is beyond hope…….Childress is insane, Frazier and Bevel are both responsible for the poor play/playcalling of Defense and Offense……
Losing record this year, no hopes for new stadium……The Vikings will move to LA, where like the lakers will then become world champions……..
It is a sad day to be a Minnesota Viking fan…….

They wont fire him in the middle of the season but they would promote him and then promote a guy like Bevel. Bevel has a lot of experience and I think he would do a LOT better. At the end of the year they can do what they want with Childress and keep Bevel as the head coach depending on the rest of the season or hire a new coach. This gives the Wilf brothers an out with Childress.

  276. By Bruce on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

Its politics and they wont fire a head coach in the middle of the season. Brad gets a new job for now and isnt embarrased by the promotion as much, Bevel gets a shot at head coaching and the Vikings wont have to deal with firing Childress at the end of the season. They can keep him as GM or just let him go. He gets paid for the rest of the year without losing too much face and we get a new head coach NOW!

  277. By Bruce on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

Who cares about paying him more for half the season. They just threw away money on Moss. We need a way to get a new head coach now and this is the best way to do it without creating a firestorm.

I see two changes that could change the tide, one is bench Favre and put in Jackson. If he doesnt turn the ball over I feel the offense will flow so much better with him at the helm, at least there is a scramble threat and lets face it, I dont think he could turn the ball over anymore than Favre has already. Also, fire Childress, but I feel that is less important.

Oh boo hoo. Moss cut. Probably to punish Favre, who wanted Moss to seal the deal on going to the Super Bowl (SB). Now Moss is gone and so are your chances for SB. Although to be honest, the chance evaporated well before Moss’ departure.

Maybe New England will get him back! He did say (all teary eyed) how he “Missed those guys so.” Sniffle sniffle.

It all looked so good just a few weeks ago, didn’t it? – Favre is back and Moss acquired. Get out the party favors! Pre-order the pizzas and beer! See you at Cowboys stadium in February!

Childress has not made good decisions… not kicking field goals and going for it on 4th down all the time and now cutting a player and not letting the front office or the player know about it and telling everyone else… allowing it to get to the media first. I totally understand that football is a business. I also am fully accepting that the fans are not the ones in charge of day to day operations, nor of decisions on or off the field. Now, that being said, I do think that occasionally a coach should be held accountable for HIS actions and decisions. It seems to me that we have been down this exact same road before. When Moss left the first time, the team was under the impression that all the problems were his fault and that our achievements were a cause of someone else (Dante). This time, Coach Childress is directing blame for his shortcomings on Farve AND Moss. My question is when is Childress going to be either forced to answer for poor decisions, or forced out all together?

This is the ONLY bad season Brad Childress has had in Minnesota, otherwise they got better every year, 6-10, 8-8, 10-6, and 12-4. NOW HE IS BEING CRUCIFIED FOR HAVING HIS FIRST DOWN SEASON. Read my blogs. Most of them give STATISTICAL reasons why Brad Childress should not be fired. In addition, most of the blogs I have written take into account past years. Sure, Brad has made some mistakes this year, but it would be reactionary to fire him now. Sometimes having 8 Pro Bowlers (if that is accurate) can be a detriment to the team. Why? Poor leadership and work ethics after the season in which they were named to the Pro Bowl. The fact the Vikings were 12-4 does not help either. There is the banquet circuit we always hear about, and players can lose their hunger. They forget what got them there! You cannot blame all of these things on the Head Coach. HE IS NOT GOD.

“Vikings players confirmed Monday that coach Brad Childress informed them during a team meeting of his intention to waive wide receiver Randy Moss less than a month after acquiring him in a trade with New England.”
“Childress did not tell management of his desire to part with Moss, according to Lombardi, but Childress did tell the team that Moss would be waived. Childress has control over the 53 man roster.”

Imagine Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson, Randy Moss, Percy Harvin, SIdney Rice, Visanthe Shiancoe,Jared Allen and the D, a renewed O-line and a renewed secondary. This is the beginning of a dynasty. Possibly the greatest dynasty not only in the history of football, but in the history of sports. Where are we?2-5. Where do we need to be for this to happen? At least 9-7.

I do not think there is a single blogger who knows what goes on inside the Vikings lockerroom. I am upset the Vikings lost Moss. Sometimes one player can be more trouble than he’s worth, even if he’s a superstar like Moss. Notice none of the teams want to pick him up.

Rest Favre! put in Tavaris Jackson for a game or two and see how well he does. He played fairly well against the patriots. 1 TD and 1 beautiful 2 pt. conversion. That 2 pt. conversion was a beautiful throw to a well covered reciever. Favre is great but he is 41. It takes his body longer to heal. give him 3 or 4 weeks and then let him play a bit.

It would be clear to me as an owner that the coach in not discussing this – has given me (the owner) more than sufficent reason to remove Chad from the coaching position. I can only hope that the Mr. Wilf seizes this opportunity to remove Chad, before another 24 hours pass.

And do not release Randy Moss. With a new (temp) coach – and good honest discussion with Randy – this can be worked out. Let Randy know that you as an owner and the players in the locker room still want.

Childress lost the fans a while ago, now it looks like he’s lost the team. I don’t know what else there is to lose but his job, this guy is holding back the team. I had so many hopes for this season to cruise right back to the NFC Championship, but now this year is done. Let’s regroup, thank Brett Favre for everything and part ways after the year, and start fresh with a new head coach, and hopefully Ryan Mallett or one of the good QB’s coming up in the draft. Remember, a lot of the key players on this team are still pretty young (AP, Sidney, Percy, Greenway, Allen, Kevin Williams, Shiancoe, young secondary)

Beginning of a dynasty Chaos? It is a one or two year window of closing opportunities. We have no QB for the future, Williams is the oldest defensive player in the NFL, Winfield is close – he is getting old, all of them are aging and the few good ones left will move where they can get a championship. Everything was done to win now. It is not a dynasty. We had a potential dynasty from 1998-2002– then with a Parcells-caliber coach, we would have won 2-3 Superbowls.

    1) A couple days ago when Childress told the media that Moss was helping them with the plays of the Patriots, Moss found out and said that people need to keep their mouth shut because the Patriots will just make adjustments now. That was a direct comment towards Childress.

    2) During the game Moss gave up on that free play with the penalty and it was obvious that he could have probably completed the catch for a touchdown. Childress saw that and didn’t like it.

    3) This is what sealed the deal for Moss, (and I’m with Childress on this) Moss comes out and just constantly praises the other team and the other coach that just b e a t the Vikings. He calls the Belichick the best coach ever and then Moss publically criticizes Childress for not talking the field goal.

So Childress makes a big blunder and waives Moss without telling management of his intentions because he can according to his contract, so we will see where this goes.

So yeah, even though I think Childress isn’t that great of coach and should be replaced, I understand why he got rid of Moss. Moss in reality forgot his own team and it’s coach and spent the whole time talking about the Patriots. It was almost like he should have still been wearing a Patriot’s uniform. So I didn’t like that about Moss or that p a s s from Favre where he just gave up because he knew he got a penalty.

I just wish Childress would quit focusing on benching players or waiving players and just get the players to fix their mistakes.

And you don’t critisize your own coach. And when you et a free play, I want you to still try and catch the ball for a touchdown. Now either you stop this junk or I will release you”

That’s what Childress should have done. He had the threat of firing Moss all along, he should have tried that first to keep him in line instead of wasting a 3rd round draft pick and paying some guy you dont even have anymore.

It doesn’t bode well for Childress anyway. This Moss situation has made too much noise for him to get away unharmed.
While I think Childress is not such a bad coach (even though the Vikings playcalling at the end of the halves has been horrible recently), I think it’s time for him to step down, not because he is bad, but because he probably just lost respect from most of the team and all the credibility he had left. You just can’t announce that a player is going to be released before making sure that is the case, especially when it is such a verbal player.

Also, I don’t understand why Favre and Frazier have been criticized about sunday’s loss. Favre played really well and the defense did rather good too. It’s not Frazier’s fault if the players weren’t able to tackle on NE’s last drive. On all the other drives, the defense did a really good job, and NE stayed in the game only thanks to Brady’s ability to play under pressure.

I love my team & it’s heart breaking to see them lose games that they had in their hands. Childress needs to change his ways in order for the Vikings to start winning. He blames everyone, but himself for all the mistakes. I’m sure other fans are tired of seeing them lose when we all know the Vikings have AMAZING players. Why doesn’t Childress change the plays? We all know what comes next & we are just expectators, we don’t do this for a living. Does he not know that other coaches watch his games & study them? He VERY predictable! I want to see the real VIKINGS, the winners, the players that play not only physically, but the ones that put their heart on the field, the ones that have been there all season waiting for something good to happen to them. Each & everyone of them has this, but something/someone is preventing them from doing so! Can’t wait to see you guys beat AZ. (I’m from AZ by the way!!!) Best luck to all of you & God bless!!!

Childress said Monday he didn’t see Moss’ remarks as “incendiary.” The closest he came to criticizing him was acknowledging he could’ve caught a pass that fell incomplete in the end zone while the Patriots were called for pass interference.

“But again, I don’t know,” Childress said. “He was restricted. If they called pass interference, there had to be some kind of restriction.”

Asked whether he felt Moss had been playing hard, Childress said, “He’s playing hard when he needs to play hard.”

Linebacker Ben Leber was one of a handful of players who appeared in the locker room and expressed surprise at the move. But he didn’t sound happy about Moss’ postgame remarks, either.

“It was just, ‘Wow,'” Leber said. “Just because it sounded like it was unprompted and sounded like he wanted to get some stuff off his chest. He certainly has every right to do that. I don’t think that’s the way to do it.”

Leber said Childress didn’t give the team much of an explanation.

“He didn’t really dive into any details,” Leber said. “Just said, ‘That’s where we’re going to go with it.'”

Moss’s contract called for a $6.4 million base salary this season — leaving the Vikings on the hook for at least $1.5 million. If Moss is claimed on waivers, the team that signs him is responsible for the remainder of his salary. If he clears waivers, then he can sign as a free agent under new terms.

  410. By Bruce on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

Our play calling looks like the Baltimore Colts in the 60’s…except they were better at black and blue football! A lot of talent is going to waste. We have an owner that is investing in the team but a coach that squanders it. It’s just a matter of time for Childress. There’s no point in waiting now!

It’s official….this has got to be the dumbest Vikings team ever. You have to assume that everyone in New England is laughing their butts off right now saying thanks for the free draft picks. Just wait Vikings fans, AP is probably getting pretty tired of all the drama, and as soon as his contract is up he’s gone. I’m sure there are plenty of other players that feel they are on a sinking ship as well. The 50 year patch on the Vikings uniform should be changed to a sinking ship to reflect the state of the team. I’ve been a vikings fan all my life, but in this case I hope Randy goes to Green Bay so he can torture this team until he retires.

We have a head coach that should be at the high school level. We have defensive backs that can’t cover, can’t catch the ball, and can’t tackle. We have a defensive line that can’t rush the passer. We have a very overated offensive line that can’t block. Other than that, we Minnesotans have a great professional football team. NOT!!!!

Brad childress is one of the worst coaches in the nfl. He should be fired today and they should give he job to leslie frazier. I have never seen a coach make such poor decisions. He coaches to not lose the game instead of to win the game. Last year the vikings did well despite of childress, if anything he heald them back. I would love to see childress step up and take the blame for some of these loses instead of passing the buck. Fire him now before it is two late, he has lost the team. They can still make a playoff run if they get rid of childress. the team will rally around frazier

John Madden said we are a cursed franchised. I have been a fan for 40 years. Yet another classic moment in Vikings history. Childress has blown a half a decade of underachieving. I don’t want to hear about how the record improved from 6-10 to las t years 12-4. We have won by talent PERIOD. In fact we have underacheived in each season with this bald headed moron. He is a glorified college coach at best! He has been at the center of all of the problems on and off the field. He some how feels like he is this football guru when in fact he is a total idiot. Let’s start at being a leader. Atotal failure. Respect is earned not by being a dictator. From fining a player to attend his grandmother’s funeral to this latest mess. We don’t have a leader. That should be enough. The on field game managing coahing is beyond rediculous. We know he can’t run an offense. Think about befor Farve came, we struggled to do anything even with AP and others. Remember the Indy game a few years ago we kicked five field goals and lost. Payton Manning pulled it out at the end. We should have won by three touchdowns. Chilly has no creativity andfeel for the game. I am so fed up with this idiot. I thought the Wilf’s would do what it takes to move forward but we are now doomed to go backward again. A coach should take what he has and make it better, this clown takes the talent level down. If we had a Gruden or Dungy last year we woul have won the superbowl. It is us as fans that pay for this team. Why are we so tortured??? Mr. Wilf PLEASE make a change now. I don’t care if we win another game this season as long as Childress goes. I am sure many viking fans feel the same!!

Can we blame moss for being upset..havnt seen Chilly make any attempts to try and get moss open. Threw to him twice in NE and one of those (interference call) was probably Bretts call after he read single coverage.

A good coach, like a good teacher, can inspire , motivate and create opportunities to allow average players to exceed even their own expectations……..

A bad coach, like a bad teacher, is uninspiring, non-motivational, and wastes talent and opportunities for players to exceed……

It is easy to see where Childress is in all this…….

I am totally DISGUSTED! At some point ownership has to stand up & say NO! You wanted this player, we gave up a draft pick to get him, we reenergized our fan base (not to mention sold a lot of merchandise around this), Harvin & Peterson have benefited from the move, MAKE IT WORK1 I must have missed the news that Sidney Rice was back in the lineup, otherwise WHO IS OUR DEEP THREAT? Donovam McNab will be here next year(no way he signs long-term with the Skins after yesterday. I can’t do the T-Jack 4 completions per game again. Keep Moss & Rice & Make Leslie Frazier the HC. We might be able to salvage something from this mess this year, but this whole fiasco give me no confidence that Childress can lead this team to where it needs to go. The way he’s handled the whole Favre situation this year & NOW he wants to draw a line in the sand with Moss. He’s about to lose the whole locker romm. Wilfs, JUST SAY NO!!!!!

  480. By Mike B. on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

I am on the bandwagon, now. It’s time to put Childress on waivers. If we want to save this season, this ship needs a new captain. It is obvious he has lost control of this team and Wilfs need to give him the heave ho. Time for someone new to come in and utilize all the talent properly. Just my thoughts.

Your a joke Childress and should have been gone long ago. With the type of talent you have on the team you should be running circles around other teams but because of your bullheaded ways you will drown this team before you let the true talent shine through. But you maybe that’s what management wants so they can move the team it’s been done before and it can happen again. It’s just a shame that the good fans that have supported this team through the good and the bad have to be subjected to this. Oh by the way I’m sure if I was one of the players and said these things you have me waived from the team as well. Anybody can lead by fear but a great leader encourages his people to be part of the solution.

I can’t watch the team or attend anymore. A coach that blames everyone else but himself. Blame Moss, Favre, Offense and Defense who’s left? A wanna be coach, who thinks he knows more than players that have been around a lot longer than himself. He is a control freak with little mans disease.

BB will stick around because nobody else will want him as well as Lewis, T. jack will stick around too. within 2 years we will be a 0-16 team. Detroit will dominate us for the next decade.

Childress is the most unimaginative play caller in NFL history. He is too conservative for his own good or the good of his team…any team! We are looking at (another!!!!) complete reorganization and rebuilding of the team. 3 to 5 years more before anything good is gonna come the way of Viking fans! Oh yeah…by then theyll be in some other town and under a different name! I dont have the patience anymore. Some other people may find it honorable to stay faithful to a constantly losing home team (i.e. Cubs, Browns, etc.) Not me…forty years is more than this clown car of an organization deserves of my time. I want to know what it feels like to see a team you love win something big before I die. Goodbye Vikes!

ITs simple, Jared Allen is predictable. He always goes outside right…he has no spin move to cut inside so you constantly see linemen push him further outside which causes allen to always be a second or two late

Jared Allen is almost always responsible for right side containment…. hard to do that when you move inside. Should Frazier scheme better? Yeah, he should. His defense is predictable, and therefore flawed. Edwards has the same assignment, but the QB typically rolls to his side of the line, making his route to QB shorter.

A strong coach is needed who displays passion. Chilly may be a great neighbor to chew the fat with when you’re raking leaves, but no way should we have blown up the team the day we hear Percy’s injury may be worse than first expected. Work with a talented player. Polish the Escalade and drive them home from the airport with helicopters following you. Remind Moss he has unfinished business in Minnesota. This time we all play for a ring! He played on a great Patriot team that lost to the Giants. WE can do this thing. Chris Collinsworth hates Moss and had to gush about his downfield blocking that engaged the defender where A.P. could read the block 5 yards ahead. Today should have been for Shanahan to explain his brain cramp in Detroit, not Childress making headlines with this mess. For those going to the Cardinal game please Boo Chilly with every fiber of your being, and cheer for “The team.”

Most improved Viking at this point is A.P. Their were people who wanted him traded after last season due to the fumbling. He worked hard at it, and Bienemy deserves some credit for his work on that as well. Didn’t the Vikings receivers coach work with Rice and Taylor? He can get through to a Randy Moss. I really don’t think Randy cares about his stats as much when a team wins.

Honestly? HONESTLY? I am still in shock. Seriously, I cannot believe the whole season for one– we had such high expectations after that narrow defeat in one of the hardest venues back in January — the season has been up and down but this is — I don’t know what is going on. Beyond belief. I did see the old Moss a bit that is for sure– seemed like the old ” I play when I want to play” but we gave up so much to get him and even when he just jogs down the field he takes two defenders with him. Chilly could have spoken with him, disciplined, but he must have a control freak nature– which is a symptom of insecurity. Childress needs to go– I have nothing personal against him, but he cannot do the job. The fan base is going to be ugly at the games– it is sad everything is disintegrating when we could win three in a row– with MOSS. I am rambling – am tired and like I said- I am not sure what to think– I still can hardly believe it.

No matter what Moss said after the game, how are we going to be able to put a decent game on the field short-handed for receivers and a clueless egomaniac calling plays (you can’t call what he is doing “COACHING”). The way he is going, our All-Pro players (i.e. AD) will be injured by the end of the regular season. Forget playoffs…they’ll be packing up for LA.

You might win a game with T-Jack, but Favre will can win you a Super Bowl. I know that I’m being a homer, but why can’t Minnesota fans hold up the signs saying “We Believe” instead of jumping of a sinking ship…the captain cannot be Childress.

Zigi is obviously a great business man and he should know that you do not blame a failed business on employees but the managers. Shoot, even Mr. Miagi (Karate Kid) said’ “there are no bad students, only bad teachers.” Coaches are supposed to make players better. He might think he knows football, but he doesn’t know players and they go hand in hand.

Childress really is doing everything he can this week to get fired. I thought that the retárded Red-Flag Sunday afternoon was enough to show that he didn’t want the job anymore, but if cutting your best receiver because he didn’t pretend that he was happy with the game’s outcome isn’t considered pïssing on the franchise then he will never be gone.

Talk about legacy, Childress is a blip on the radar screen. When he is gone nobody will ever talk about him. Can you say the same for Randy Moss?? Zigi, you are smart, you cannot let this happen!!!

There is hope– WIlf is very angry and so Childress will most likely be gone by mid-week– new coach, we will surge like an eagle– 11-5. I can see it now, greatest turnaround in franchise history– we win the Superbowl. I am keeping with the theme of this blog– a tale of two seasons. BC and AC.

Wilfs daily planner, Nov 2 2010

    1) Fire Childress
    2) Call Frazier and tell him he’s the interim head coach.
    3) Call Moss, let him know that the former head coach is gone.
    4) Check on Childress to make sure he isn’t stealing anything from the office as he vacates.
    5) Call a presser to announce that all is well, the lunatic is gone.
    6) Start calling Cowher and Grudens agents to entice them into interviewing for the head coaching job.
7)Let Frazier know that if his defense doesn’t start winning some games for this team, he’s going to be following Childress out the door.

  640. By arahn on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

LOL… I love it! Sunday at the metrodome they announce over the speakers “the lunatic has left the building” and all cheer….I’ll go to sleep dreaming of that now.

Hey PurpleParody — JC is not insecure– he has a good sense of humor and would not waive Moss, but extend grace, so No, it is not heresy. By the way, BC deserves to still be treated like a human being– he just is not doing his job — his gifting is somewhere else. JC is a winner and expects the best of everyone– spirit of excellence as Daniel had. This team has far too much talent to be wasted — that is a sin.

@ Arohn – I’m pretty certain that a Favre (retiring/unretiring) blog held the record, and still may. But it looks like it’s a close battle now if this one hasn’t yet surpassed it.

I came here as a Favre fan last year…and now I am a huge Vikings fan. I spent thousands of dollars between games and Vikings merchandise. I thought for sure we where heading to the Super Bowl when Favre came back again this year. All I can say is it will take a modern day miracle for us to make the playoffs now. Wow…this is surreal…i feel like i am in a nightmare and I cant wake up. I am disgusted with the way the play calling has been. Yes, I will be first to say Favre has made some key errors like the Jets game…but the percy interceptions in the Dolphins and now New England game werent his fault. The 4th and Goal against the Dolphins was not his fault. The horrible officiating against GB was not his fault. The Vikings just have a curse in 2010….

  649. By fire childress on Nov 2, 2010 | Reply

actually candyman, the Vikings have been cursed for several decades. if it’s not bad calls from refs, it’s bad coaching such as Les steckle, Tice and the worse of the 3- Chilly. we can still make the playoffs, only if we get rid of Chilly and get Randy Back, let your voices be heard !!!!!!!!

Vikes don’t have a curse but they do have a negative influence and most have come to see that it is Chilly. Moss more or less said so after the NE game which is why Chilly was quick to fire him….didn’t want that SECRET out.

BC (Mr. Brad Childress) is out of touch and control as head coach. He’s incapable of managing high profile players, including AD, Favre, Moss, among others. He’s already made so many poor decisions on being unable to effectively surround Favre with a capable offensive line to protect Favre. He’s also failed to pull the right mix of players on defense. He has no clue on how to run schemes with efficacy at critical times within the game. It’s not so much that Favre or Moss have run amuck as it is that BC has. Strongly recommend Mr. Zygi Wilf right his ship of Vikings. Retain Moss and fire BC, perhaps installing Mr. Frazier as temporary head coach, and hire someone of high caliber such as Mr. Dungy or Mr. Parcels to help develop a more viable strategy. If we had a decent coach, Favre would not have been hit so many times this year, the Vikings would be a more cohesive team, arguably the best in NFC if not in all of NFL teams this year. Also recommend to pursue bringing Favre and Moss back next year but with a much improved coaching and supporting cast around them plus AD. BC had his opportunity and failed miserably. The Vikings have so many great players, just currently not a great skipper who’s able to control the high egos of great players. GO VIKINGS, GO FAVRE, MOSS, & AD AND LET GO OF BC IMMEDIATELY!!!

Childress and Farve have been a disaster. At the end of the day, Farve hasn’t delivered what he came here to do. Bottom line he did not lead MN to a Super Bowl last year and certainly will not this year. Farve tells the media last week that NO-ONE needs to tell him how I played—-rip on his head coach-it is evident to me that Farve runs this team—-Childress does not have a personality that a player responds well to. He is F-ing socially inept and deep down, as arrogant as Farve. Farves’ ego is absolutely toxic and disgusting and he has been given too much credit, results baby, is what matters-PERIOD! I am glad Moss spoke up, at least he has the guts to do so and apparently cares enough to have a strong opinion…..FYI to the Wilfs-I like what you are all about but Farve and Childress disgusted me so much prior to the start of last year that I cancelled my 15 year-4 seats-end zone tickets. Farve is all about himself and Childress couldn’t sell himself out of a wet paper bag if his life depended on it. In this order and all within one day, please consider:

    • Bring Randy Back
    • Cut Farve
    • Fire Childress

Someone once told me “it can be slow and painful or fast and painful” I picked fast and painful ever since!!!!

I am all for getting rid of childress. I have also been a fan of Moss and felt that he was misunderstood and perhaps scapegoated by the media…..
But, if the reports are true, Moss crossed the line-
his efforts on the field have been less than 100 percent
    his presser was disrespectful
But, most troubling was his disrespect for the mom & pop food catering service in which he said “He wouldn’t feed this sh!t to his dog! Right in front of the caterers……..there is no reason to disrespect hard working folks………

This is possibly the most talented team in football, with the worst coaching staff in the business, and there is no reason to keep them. There are top tier super bowl winning coaches available, and the players and fans deserve better. If we do not keep Moss we will continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL. Chilly and Frazier both fail to motivate anyone to play. Chilly’s decisions and leadership are non-existent. Frazier get’s heaps of credit for a defense that applies no pressure, has no sacks in 4 weeks, and peeked 4 years ago. He’s not a future head coach, he’s been interviewed 14 times and rejected because he’s simply not as good as he’s credited to be. The O line is uninspired and embarrassing. We’re 0-12 in 3 or 4th and short and we have the best RB in the league, and that is unacceptable. Fire the coaches keep Moss because he makes the entire team better, and gives everyone hope.

    Childress has:
    (a) Lost consistently with All-Pro talent, which in a real job is equivalent to
    WASTING TIME ON THE JOB
    (b) Shown poor play-calling during games, which in a real job is equivalent to
MAKING BAD DECISIONS (THAT COST THE COMPANY $$$) AT WORK
    (c) Thrown away a high draft pick (the future), which in a real job is equivalent
to SHOWING NO INTEREST IN GETTING MORE EFFICIENT AT YOUR JOB
    (d) Not motivated the team, which in a real job is equivalent to NOT MANAGING
YOUR PROJECT TEAM EFFECTIVELY EFFECTING ITS SUCCESS.
So let me summarize this: If I have a boss that lets me WASTE TIME ON THE JOB, MAKE BAD DECISIONS, SHOW NO INTEREST IN ADVANCING and MANAGE MY PROJECT TEAM IMPROPERLY AND still keep my job then I want to work for ZIGGY!!!!!
