Patriots Capitalize On Favre INT, Take 21-10 Lead

Posted by cjsiewert on October 31, 2010 – 4:29 pm

Following a Brett Favre INT, the Patriots needed only 4 plays to drive 37 yards for their 3rd TD of the game. Patriots RB Benjarvus Green-Ellis found the endzone on a 13-yard run to give his team a 21-10 lead.

The Vikings received the football at midfield following a New England punt but couldn’t take advantage of the good field position with a bobbled pass intended for Percy Harvin landing in the hands of Patriots CB Devon McCourty. McCourty returned the Favre INT 37 yards down to the Minnesota 37.

New England will start the 4th quarter with 2nd and 4 on their own 16.

We need a change at the head coach. Adrian Peterson should be in the game when we have 5 or less yards to go. Gerhart is not the player for us in that position. He cant run anyone over or out run anyone. Give Adrian some more pitch outs on short yards to go. Our linebackers didnt make any stops in the holes. We are playing like we dont know how to read the holes. Moss should be in the game on short yardage so they wont know who we are going to give the ball to. Allen needs to be replaced in the secondary. We need to do a better job on our challenges in a game. We should have challenged the first time Adrian got in the endzone and they put the ball on the one yard line. I don’t lknow why we challenged the play that we did.

Agreed rocksalt – Favre was playing better today than all year. But I am glad that TJack is finally coming in. It’s too bad Favre had to break his jaw for it to happen.

Anyone who watched the game and has an IQ of 70 or higher can easily see that Favre was not the problem. The problems are these: Childress is scared of his own shadow and makes many poor in game desicions, our defensive coaches are also horrible..with the number of star players in our front seven we should be able to stop the run and pressure the QB. What did you see from Jackson that would lead you to think he would give us any chance of beating any team in this league. He is not and never will be smart enough to figure out NFL defenses.
Sage Rosenfels was clearly our best second option…thanks again Childress.

Well. See good in bad. Next weeks sunday will be free from emotional rollercoasting that eventually end up in a huge dissapoitment. Now one can finaly relax and just watch the games without any worries or care. Thats good for the bloodpressure atleast.

Sidenote. AD should look out for a trade that will compensate him considerably in the short run. Since he isn´t getting any help from the offensive line he takes a lot of abuse. Find a OL that can create holes for him – just like the PATS did today – and trade for a team that have the potential to win. This is definately not the one

Childress messes up more challenges. Peterson scored right away. That challenge of the Pats catch was so embarassing.

Winning is a great deodorant. No one notices Bill Belichick’s mistakes because they win.————–Read some books about him, he makes plenty of mistakes.

It is too bad that the vikes didn’t start T-Jack. The guy is mobile. Many of the plays that favre gets sacked on or gets intentional grounding penalties, T-Jack probably could have simply run away from the defender for a gain or a pro-longed pass play.

It was fun to see T-Jack come in off the bench and throw the Touchdown and then the 2 pt converstion.

Favre has to go. Our season might be done, let T-Jack finish it so we know if he is the future or not.

At the end of the half when NE kneels, don’t you have to call TO and try to make them punt? There was a minute left and they were trapped at the goalline. It seems so basic to me that you would call a TO and make them do something or punt from the endzone.

Pass blocking always seems worse when Jackson is in.

I’m a Vikings fan living in Utah. I thought about what I wanted to say after watching the Vikes lose another game this week. I could talk about the defense, the offense or the coaching, but there is just too much disgust to write down in one short blog. The difference between Super Bowl teams and the rest is commitment and desire. The Vikings have neither. This year is going to be yet another year in 50 of disappointment. The sound Vikings fans hear is the sound of Packer fans laughing And one more little tidbit……2 World Series titles = New stadium. 50 years of nothing = metrodome

WHO TEACHES THESE FOOLS TO TACKLE????
Pats RB got 104 yds in 2nd half on 12 carries………do the math………..
    THIS IS EMABARRASSING!

BRETT, YOU PLAYED A GOOD GAME. THREW THE BALL AWAY WHEN YOU HAD TO AND MADE GOOD THROWS AND GOOD DRIVES. IM JUST SORRY THAT OUR RECEIVERS COULDNT CATCH THE BALL OR HANG ONTO THE CATCHES. WHT THE H E L L DO WE KEEP PLAYING BERRIAN? OUR DEFENSE GAVE THE GAME AWAY AND CHILDRESS SHOULD HAVE TOOK THE EASY 3 POINTS BECAUSE I KNEW THEY WOULD STUFF AP. BRAD CHILDRESS ALWAYS MAKES THE WRONG CALLS. WHO OR WHAT LOST THIS GAME? CHILDRESS, DEFENSE AND MISSED CATCHES!!! IM SICK OF LOSING!!! BRETT YOU PLAYED REALLY WELL, I HOPE YOUR JAW IS OKAY AND YOU ARE BACK NEXT WEEK. TJ YOU FILLED IN WELL, ITS GOOD TO KNOW WE HAVE A GOOD BACKUP SO FAR.

Ok, enough is enough. I t is time to fire Chilly. This is not an acceptable season. We have the same personnel we have had last year and to be at this spot at this time of the year, it is time to go a different direction. Lets give Frazier a shot before we lose him for good like we have lost the previous D- coords in the past. It is obvious that Chilly is not the guy to lead this team and if we want to salvage this season it is time to make the change now. at 2 and 5 I really do not believe there is any other choice. Fire Chilly and do it now if you want a shot at the Super Bowl! There is too much at stake here, I cannot believe this is happening right now. Grow a pair and make the decision Mr. Wilf. If your all in then you better step up to the plate!

Childress leaves MORE points on the field, going for another 4th and goal – see Loadholt get used – guy is a mountain and he gets pushed back into the backfield, Peterson crashed into his back where a HOLE was supposed to be… How many pts had Childress now throw away, trying to :make a statement”? Yea, he is making a statement allright! He sukks and so does our line…. not hard to see. Ugly football. Favre is wishing he stayed home in Mississippi….. O-line and D-line is where games are won or loss and we are losing that battle….. and please put out an APB for Ben Lieber, our linebackers are Mr Anonymous! Henderson is playmaker, but the other two, the Invisible men!

    My thoughts watching this game…

1.) Childress still thinks he is too good to kick field goals. 4th down, tie game early… PLEASE TAKE THE POINTS!!!!

2.) Favre is not mobile enough to play in the NFL anymore. Sure, he makes some plays, but I think an average mobile qb would be better than a slow target that can’t move outside the pocket. This results in INT’s, sacks, and today we saw two penalties for intentional grounding.

3.) Our defense looked like they gave up after the Vikings scored the TD and 2pt conversion in the 2nd half.

T-Jack threw a 5 yard balloon for a T.D. – the back was wide open. Harvin scores two on a great catch. T.-Jack ….. nice throw.

But when he gets back in the game needing two scores, you can see by his play why they felt they needed Favre.

    1. He breaks out in the open for a nice run, BUT he stays IN-BOUNDS!!!! …..more important to save the clock than getting an additional 5 yards. Get out of bounds!

    2. All of his wide open completions made down the middle were gifts – the Pats want those receptions because they don’t stop the clock. Complete a ten yarder, another 15 seconds off the clock.

    3. The holding t too long sack and poor throws can be chaulked up to limited play, but there is no excuse for not knowing the basics of clock management when you have been in the league this long.

Your as dumb as T-jack if you think he gives them a better chance to win than Favre.

sorry oldschool, Brett played well. there is nothing he could ever do right in your eyes b/c you hate him. this week he played his best with two fractures in his ankle…and no he wasn’t faking the injury. Tom Brady is not that mobile of a QB either, you won’t see him scramble very often. Brett’s INT was not his fault, unlike last week. it just seems like when things can go wrong this season, they do. the defense was horrible in the second half and and couldn’t tackle to save their lives. it was so frustrating to watch.

    The Run Defense problem………

    Pat Williams and Jared Allen.

    Why???

I have been watching this situation all year- Willams lines up at a extreme diagonal toward the center; his right side exposed their left guard. This allows the left guard to get leverage on him, driving him along with the center toward Kevin.

Allen rushes up the outside, leaving a huge gap, with only linebacker to fill.

The opposing team is able to handle our linebacker with a fullback, and we give up a big gain.

Did anyone see Moss slow down and give up on the interference call. My goodness if he just continued on with the play is would have been the easiest catch all year. Favre would not have been hurt, and who knows the outcome. Moss is in it just for Moss. That’s why New England gave up on him. I mean I have never seen an experience veteran give us like Moss did on this play. Heck the ball fell 2 feet from him and he had just reduced himself to a jog. Why cannot the others play as hard as a 41 year old Favre.

The Interception was not his fault. That was clearly a beautiful play by the Pats defense. That’s what they call stripping the ball and being more physical than another opponent. Not an interception…

Just a few thoughts on todays game: it was pathetic for M Williams to not catch that pick or even knock it down, Chilly challenging an obvious catch was stupid. It is obvious that most people posting here don’t know football. The Vikings offense played well. In fact the yardage up until the fourth quarter was better. The secondary got burned on three plays that were key. Cook not wrapping and making the takle in the first half on a third down. Williams letting the ball through his hands for a major gain ending in a TD and then Asher Allen getting burned on a play the line had Brady scrammbling on. Those three plays all big plays are the difference how the game unfolded and then they ran the ball effectively in the second half. You people that blame Favre for the interception that went for points later don’t know football. There are at least five interception this year that have played out like that.

I do think Childress lost Moss this week and I think several others are about to follow. Bottom line we need to beat Arizona. One week at a time from here on out.

Chilly’s dream came true today! If Wilf’s commit to Chilly next year, Donovan McNabb will be quarterbacking the Vikes. Down 5 in the 4th quarter Shanahan benches McNabb for Rex “I won’t be late for the party” Grossman. We could package a deal of Berrian, Asher Allen, and McKinnie. In return the Vikes get McNabb and DeAngelo Williams. If Frazier coaches the Vikes next year, he will want someone tough at QB who will limit mistakes and move the chains. He might even push for a Kyle Orton type or Whitehurst. Changes would be letting Edwards find happiness again somewhere else. Robison in. Cedric comes back, Antoine continues to play well. The Vikes learn from the Packers draft and alternate picks on corners and lineman. We’re bound to find a player. Better yet, get the Utah center! Trade to get that pick. He’s dominant. He registers more pancakes than IHOP. Watch A.P. run behind that! Whoa Nelly!!!

Let’s look at some football math. The Pat’s today put two and sometimes rolled a linebacker making 3 on Moss. That makes 10 on 8 for the Vikes! We ran the ball well. Dominated time of possession during the first half. Hutch has been our most consistent lineman all year, and he plays with pride and will not let Favre down next week or the rest of the season. We have to develop the offense around using Moss as enough of a decoy to pound A.P. at the defense until 8 come up, then when it is 1 on 1 toss it to Moss. Favre did that. Our last touchdown was a result. Moss may show up as having one catch for 8 yards, but realisticly, when he gets 1 on 1 and we throw his way it’s an automatic pass interference or touchdown. Give Randy and Favre credit. I still believe Bevell and Chilly could put Moss in motion more to create more defensive adjustments before the snap. Possibly setting up a reverse. I know flee flickers are considered trick plays, but give it to A.P. bring the linebackers up, and flip back to Brett and touchdown Randy Moss! Next week is a win. The cardinals want to be Nebraska wearing their “Black shirts” today! Above all, start showing the innovation these weapons allow. Start playing with some fun and passion! Make the defense expect the unexpected! That’s the benefit of having a Favre as your gunslinger! Let him call the plays. Go no huddle on the first drive, and immediately when we cross midfield. PRESSURE! PRESSURE! PRESSURE!

My neighbor is a kindly retired gentelman on a fixed income. He went out a few weeks ago and bought about a $75 Viking flag to place in his yard on Sundays. He and his wife’s entertainment is Twins baseball and Viking Football on t.v. He stays positive. He doesn’t lower himself to profanity and personal attacks on fellow fans or Viking players. I’ll try harder to be as positive as my elderly neighbor. We have far greater talent now than during the Mike Tice era. That was a fraud being perpetrated on Viking nation and I didn’t blame Randy for leaving then. Allen will still get 7 or 8 sacks. Edwards will get 4 or 5 sacks, K. Williams will get 3 or 4 more sacks. As a result Greenway and Lieber will each get a pick or two. We’ll start to win the turnover battle.

From what I saw of the game, Gerhardt does look like he’s feeling more comfortable as a pro. He’s reacting quicker and making more of a positive impact. However, next week A.P. goes for 150 in the first half. Randy 150 in the second.

Very optimistic Connor and I would rather read that than that silly drivel earlier about women and children – cannot insinuate couth in blogs sadly. But about your hope, I am doubtful – the reason, Frazier has them in very disciplined GAP defensive style – they don’t press and play open. However, pretty much the same system as last year and I think we led leagus in sacks…… it is competitors or not and we are proving NOT. Allen is soft and only has ONE move and that is wide outside… easy to handle these days – he has made every tackle he has faced look like ALL PRO! Williams and Williams have been slight influence in games (don’t understand that one, but they are like they don’t check in at all) Edwards looks like he makes most impact, but also Guion, EVERYTIME he gets PT he makes something happen, Dude gots quicks and muscle. Robison has poor run skills but as bad as passrushers have been, gotta give him time…. but all in all, I will bet Leber doesn’t have 10 tackels on season yet… facetious perhaps, but let’s make bet…. 22 tackles after 7 games. Leber is a NO-SHOW. Would rather see Erin Henderson!

  283. By vlad19 on Oct 31, 2010 | Reply

Yea, Moss giving Belechick and NE that salute at his presser was a message to Childress for sure…. “Sorry you brought me here”…. And as ridiculous as our o-line has been, HOW can all these guys berate favre, the guy has 2 seconds to throw. How have those running seams been for AP – NOT THERE! Our line blows. Our D-line blows and our LBs are anonymous. Henderson comes to play but has NO pass defense skills despite the SAD fact he leads our D for INts…. THAT is how bad our pass rush is, pressure leads to Ints! We got maybe 4??? Deangelo Hall had that LAST WEEK!

For all the smart talk about t.jackson, i’d like to see him play and shut some of you up. Favre hasn’t played great, but you haven’t seen how bad things could get until you put jackson under center. Another thing, Favre works his a** off in these games. Percy’s interception was percy’s fault. Even with the 3 int’s against packers, favre through two throws to the end zone that could have won the game, but Moss can’t even give an ounce of effort. At the end of the game vs Pats, he could have caught the ball they through a flag on, but absolutely no effort! He is a disappointment. It’s obvious he doesn’t like Childress’s decision making either, and it’s showing in his attitude and his lack of effort.

Personally, I think Allen and Allen and Leber owe the rest of the team an apology – that fans as well. You see Leber making tackles on running plays in his zone, 10 yds downfield…. means he is being dispplaced severly. NOT what you want out of your LBs… But he has done it all year, why stop now? He is done before end of season. Erin Henderson or Brinkley will take over – I predict!

Did little homework on the auspicious, Ben Leber……. 18 tackles in 7 games…. 5 in one is his best performance……. 13 tackles in 6 other games….. Prove my point? They guy has no heart anymore. He is taking up space. Greenway leads team in tackles, but impact plays are NILL….. Henderson is our best all around LB. NO pressure up fromt, and we were league leader in sacks last year…. Frazier has to speak to this. We are getting walked on, and who ‘dat that ran over us today??? jim Brown? NO, some guy hyphenated-named Green-Ellis….. You ready for weak nine? OUR guys are not!

fire childress – I don’t blame moss for the way he feels, favre obviously hates childress and his play calling, but he still gives it all he has. He is thinking of the guys on that team and wanting a win for them. Favre could so easily walk away from all the criticism and stress and pressure of this game, but he won’t do that.

  296. By 4Vikes on Oct 31, 2010 | Reply

Don’t understand why the blame once again goes to Favre. He played a decent game even though he’s injured. The interception wasn’t his fault. As much as I love Percy, he needed to hang onto that ball. You people calling for TJack, do you seriously think he can do better? I just don’t think he’s the answer to any of the Vikings problems. Coaching, play calling, tackling, aggressive defense, all areas we need help asap! As for Randy Moss, he’s already getting on my nerves! When he’s in NE he complains he wants to be traded, they don’t appreciate him. Well, now he’s traded and he misses his old team, what a joke! Stop the woe is me story and start playing football like it should be played. Try playing with a little more effort, it could do wonders for the TEAM. If you don’t want to talk to the media, let Peterson or Harvin come out, they deserve it more anyway. Hopefully his bad attitude doesn’t bring the team down any further, we’ve already got an uphill battle ahead of us. Come on Vikings, let’s pick it up.

Say what you want about Chilly and/or Favre. Randy Moss is a dirtbag. He always has been. He has no class. There is a doctor in my town who used to work in the Vikings organization who always said.”Chris Carter was nothing but class and Randy Moss was a Jackas s” I have never seen or heard anything that would cause me to not believe that statement. It will be a shame to see a goof like that enter the hall of fame. To h ell with Randy Moss.

The ball did not cross the goal line……Oh well. It’s just the Vikings and that would only be two Vikings wins that the NFL Officials negated by their stupid incompetance. two weeks straight!!!

Look at the expressions on each of the Vikings players. I wouldn’t want to be a Vikings coach (read Childress) or an NFL official within a half mile of anyone of them right now. I think they are doing everything in their power not to pound Childress or an any NFL referee into the dirt.

C’mon! We can’t honestly question any of the Vikings players at this point. Something has happened to the team chemistry and I’m pretty sure it all points to a “poisoning” by Childress alone.

Brett played with a fractured ankle!!! What more can you ask of the toughest QB to ever play the game?

The rest of the Vikings players are still the best talent in the NFL at this time.

This utter collapse points entirely to Childress. Wilfs should fire him immediately before he does any more (and irrevocable) damage to the team by needlessly chasing talented players away.

Hurry up, fire Childress and promote Frazier!

And how bout that offensive line? HUH? Attaboy, Philbaby Loadholt. Move your friggin feet lardass. 360 lbs and fourth and goal from one yd, Loadholt gets jammed right back into the backfield – the kid is bad. NO PUSH, NO leverage and we get stopped. McKinnie is no better example! But again, Poindexter giving points away like he does…. He is one stupid head coach. OLD story, you take points when you get the chance…. Chilly is all about “making a statement” and a loss at that! Nice job, Childress. You deserve J Allen, Ben Leber and Asher Allen – they play YOUR kind of inspired football! And Bernard Berrian???????? Has he caught his 6th pass yet???

we can still win the division and go to the playoffs that is what our goal should be, i love everyone who is saying all this stuff about how our season’s lost its not but i agree that childress just doesnt get being a head coach its not about what you know its about what you can make your team believe he doesnt let them believe we can win every game there is not doubt i see glimpses of the team we will end up being and they are unstoppable but we must dig deep, we must not shy away from the run and maybe just maybe start getting the best Fu–ing reciever the ball more, randy on short yardage routes to start the game get him involved quick and often then we will be able to open up percy and A-P and when sidney is healthy we will not loose a game but getting randy involved will be crucial. and last but not least Favre he is amazing that he is 41 and can still throw the ball like he can but he does not give the vikings the best chance to win, we must have someone who can let a play develope , brady just waited until someone was open and favre never had the chance because he isnt mobile enough, its not about brett favre its about the MINNESOTA VIKINGS and their fans who deserve this more than any other fans, We are the best and no joke we could win 3 superbowls in the next decade so easily our team is great espically our recievers we have the best back in the game , how can you expect them not to give up when so many of you already are?

Brett isn’t having statisticly a great season, but his teammates know his pain is a result of their mistakes. At one point they zoomed in on the Viking huddle right before they broke and Favre looked at someone and it appeared he said, “That was bull-$&@!” He’s trying to hold some teammates accountable. I’m not a Chilly fan, and maybe I’m wrong. Can anyone give me an example of a time when a team changed coaches mid-season where a team made the playoffs? Otherwise, let Brett call the plays for a game. Take that laminated sheet of DUH! and store it in the safe at Winter Park, the round one at the end of the head coaches desk. Tarkenton used to be allowed to call plays. Brett knows what he can audible to. Brett is not a quitter. He’s already talking about playing next week. Ask Aaron Rodgers, I’m sure he’d tell you he’s a tough act to follow, even though Rodgers is playing very well. Someone who could step in with familiarity with this offense is John Gruden. Obnoxious, YES! Enthusiastic, YES! Accountability, YES! Let’s start showing some innovation that makes it fun to play, and moves the chains. I think Mr. Jones has him on his speed dial right now.

The headline on this blog makes it obvious that all blame is being dumped on Favre — only the inept would believe Favre is the problem with the team. I wanted to stay out of the Chilly hating blogs but it is really apparent that he is running this team into the ground (or is it into LA?). The rumors about LA nabbing the Vikes are true and I don’t think they would want any other team for a couple reasons: they love the Lakers (taken from us) and the Vikes have the same color scheme as the Lakers. Today he played a perfect game, threw the ball away when he should have and didn’t commit any turnovers. Unfortunatly he gets legally blamed for the defender grabbing the ball out of Harvins arms. ITS HIS D A M N JOB TO RUN DRILLS, PAY WITH PADS, DO 2 A DAYS OR DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET THESE GUYS TO STOP MISSING THEIR BLOCKS, STOP DROPPING THE BALL, START TACKLING BETTER & START COVERING THEIR MAN BETTER. To B.F fan base, you all can watch his last games and also can say he played well today. Really? There was nothing impressive except he played and did’nt have many Int’s. Now you blame the team for poor play. Actually It’s about time, they played well enough for 6 wins but the QB let them down. I like Bret however, the message that being sending out to this team is not good. Childress playing games about who is going to start knowing he’s going to play a 50% QB when he doesn’t have to. Bret and yourselfs want be satisfied until the man is permanently damaged. Therefore, continue to watch the BF streak, since it’s really much more important than the team. And yes Ziggy is a BF Fan, otherwise the Coach would be fired. In the coming weeks expect the injury report to be long if this course the ownership choices stays the same directon. And to the Viking Fans: the reality is no matter if you or I feel a QB switch may do us some good, it aint happening, Ziggy paid too much money for this to be a bust. TJ will not be given a chance unless he is injured, reqardless if BF throws 20 picks a game. This is a sad state, but neither you or me pay the bills directly. Ziggy has bought all the Offensive fire power one can ask for..” 2-5″ to support B.F. He is not getting it done – Point Blank. It’s also apparent that we won’t even see what TJ can do even if wer’e 2-12, because this streak is more important then winning and the future.

Favre needs a supporting cast. The Vikings defensive backs are without a doubt the worst cover and tackling secondary in the League. The pass rush of Edwards and Allen did a better job this week, but overall, those two have not performed anywhere close to the way they played last year. Allen looks unmotivated and bored and Edwards has lost a step. Favre did everything he could possibly do to win this game. When the rest of the Vikings team decides to give as much effort as Favre does for a full 60 minutes maybe they can turn this season around. Until then, Favre will continue to take the blame for a team that looks like it is going through the motions rather than playing to win. When your quarterback is giving his all and courageously playing with an injured ankle and elbow the rest of the team needs to step up and give him some support!!

“supporting cast” with the exception of Peterson. Peterson is playing great!

fmfan says….I see what I want to see…….cause it supports my lunacy.
“It was Favres fault! If the throw was not behind Harvin it would not have been taken away from him.”.

I probably saw the reply 15 times. Hit was a perfect throw to Harvin, he didn’t control it and the defender reached in a pulled it away from him.

This guy could watch it 20 times, and he would still say the same thing.

  370. By 4eversteve on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

Farve has thrown some int’s this year and this one will go against his record but in all reality if you ask Harvin he would say he should have caught that one . Asher Allen and Madieu Williams both played very poorly yesterday, almost forgot to mention Bernard Berrian but figure it would be a forgone conclusion that he wouldn’t catch the ball when his number got called and the poor ole tackling kill us!

SUX- Since you are so smart, refresh my memory and tell me one negative or derogatory thing Ive said about Favre. I like Brett. Now if we are talking Brad, he is fair game. Fire the IDIOT!!!

  372. By JC on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

Favre and AP were Great…blame someone else…. Jared Allen is always a second or two late, Asher Allen cant get a tackle on 3rd and long to give us one last chance. Percy lost an interception that would of been first down close to the redzone. Williams cant get an easy interception that ends in a Patriots Score. Berrian cant catch a 9 yard pass right on the numbers. Shaincoe cant pick up one dam yard to get the first down after the catch.

Tjack did well. Favre has had a washed up season.
Get him out he is not what any football team needs. The only reason why the Vikings are keeping him is because he is news. Anything for the spotlight, even if their season has horrible stats.
I hope favre is out for the season i truely feel the vikings would be better off, which is a lot to say from a packers fan, brett turns into a lemon that you dont want and all he does is show his stem. Get him off and everyone will enjoy the true game of football more and not be stuck in nfl soap opera called Farves decline.

BOTTOM LINE, IS THAT THIS IS THE MOST TALENTED, OVERPAID BUNCH OF UNDERACHIEVERS IVE EVER SEEN ON A VIKE TEAM; AND BEEN A FAN SINCE THEIR INCEPTION-PRETTY FREAK’N SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS…

WHY STATE THE OBVIOUS THAT YOU ALL HAVE SUMMED UP PRETTY WELL, POOR COACHING, PLAY CALLING AT KEY MOMENTS, AND REAL SH**TY EXECUTION… ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL… ESPECAILLY ON DEFENSE, COULDN’T SHUT DOWN MAJOR TOM WITH HIS PASSING OR THE RUNNING BACKS..TORE US A NEW ONE..; AGAIN…

  376. By purplehaze on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

ASHER ALLEN SHOULD GO SIT IN THE CORNER ON A TIME OUT, HE WAS A MAJOR REASON YOU LOST THIS GAME, CAN’T CONTAIN AND CAN’T TACKLE FOR S**T..

GradeAstinkycheeseHead: Go back and check Rodgers’ stats. How many TD’s did he have yesterday? How many 3rd downs did they convert? How many TD’s in the red zone this year?

    yep. thought so.

  378. By ohioviking on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

Lets be realistic. Farve actually played a good game. That int. was Harvins fault. The catch that had to be made was not all that difficult. There are other aspects that occurred during the game that really affected the outcome.

  379. By MP on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

    “Jackson= 1 play- 1 pass= 1 TD Any questions Favre?”

What else would you expect on the five yard line? It’s not like he led the drive down there. When he did lead the drive he managed to get sacked in the pocket. Favre has fractures in his ankle and still managed to get out of the pocket.

  380. By MP on Nov 1, 2010 | Reply

Anyone blaming Favre for this loss couldn’t have been watching the same game. Even the INTs against the Packers didn’t cost the game. The defense has been horrible this year. The difference between the Vikings and Patriots yesterday is the Pats wanted it more. Their receivers fought for 1st downs, ours didn’t. Their defensive line got push, ours did not. They only needed one stop.

Childress has lost this group for usre and he is so stupid, he thought this was the move to assure security! Stability…. The lockerroom is shaking their heads right now! I can’t wait to see moss in next interview! HA! LOVE hating Poindexter… the smartest IDIOT in football!

Wow! I do sincerely learn a lot from the experience and viewpoints of fellow fans. When we look at our team with injuries and all, their are a lot of 5-3 teams including a 6-1 team we just lost to that don’t have our talent. Or maybe, we’ve been telling ourselves about how talented our team is, when we don’t really measure up. How many Pro bowlers on this team from last year? Right now, for Pro Bowl I might vote Hutchinson, definitely A.P. and Percy. Anyone see a Pro Bowler on defense? Antione, but we don’t see him in games because he does his job and they attack away from his side.

Favre did well; offensive line was ok but are still allowing too many hits on Favre; defensive line appeared fair; if offensive line better protected Favre since game one and defensive line stepped it up a bit, our W/L would be minimally inverted at this point; Favre is still best option at quarterback but needs to stop his lie, starting with not attending summer training; if Favre truly cared about the team, he would have got his surgery immediately after his interception in last year’s NFC championship game. Although Percy should have caught that intercepted pass, Percy seems to have been the best and most effective out of all offensive players, even more than Favre and AD… keep it up Percy… you’re amazing! AD needs to be a bit more versatile in his up the gut mentality and bounce off to the side options when seemingly contained… it’s not just muscle that wins games. BC has been a non-effective Bad Coach, making bad decisions and critical times and seemingly not bringing team cohesiveness in play. As much as Favre feels he’s the best option to play the entire game and, although Favre should start, TJ needs to be included in the playing scheme to provide a burst of speed. Although the offense and defense look pretty awful this year and need to take greater responsibility for their lack of play, BC and and his coaching staff seemed to be a wrong fit from the very beginning. After bringing in Favre last year, the Vikes should have also brought in a new coach.

I listened to New England radio broadcast of the game. They were objective. This is not. They debated whether it would be considered a fumble or an interception. It was that close. So stating this without explanation is suspiciously slanted. Do you have an agenda, Vikings? The New England announcers also observed that Favre played a good game. He did. You can never fault him for not trying to win. Which is not the case with Moss or Childress, with some of the inexplicable calls he regularly makes: Confusion over an obvious 2 point conversion situation with the Jets, leading to an unnecessary timeout; giving up with 31 seconds left in the half against GB and going for a TD on 4th and 1 on the road in New England when we could have gotten the lead and the ball back at the beginning of the 2nd half. I am tired of wondering, “What was he thinking?” And with Moss, he didn’t know that Randy Moss is Randy Moss. Who does not know this? Moss did the unforgivable, questioned the coach in public. Tsk, Tsk. Let him know who is boss, save the team and dump him when the season ends. We should all be questioning this coach. At best he is mediocre. And he can’t handle tempermental people, which is also his job. The only hope for getting this team out of an emotional quagmire is to fire the coach now. There will be no public furor, we will be relieved and it will be a days’ worth of news…end of story. Get on with it. Let them see a new face in the locker room. Let us see a new face on the field.

Seriously, are some of you really that delirious? the whole “Jackson 1 pass 1 td”. WOW I swear many of you Vikings fans act like he’s the next coming of Joe Montana or something. I thought he played horrible, had bad accuracy on multiple plays and threw underneath on a prevent defense instead of going for a TD or a win. Yeah, any QB can throw underneath on a prevent D.

  390. By Siyrah on Nov 2, 2010 | Reply

By the way, on the Moss subject… Chilly your an idiot and I have just lost all hope for the Vikings chances this year. I felt Moss and Favre could have been quite good after getting the timing down, and until then he could draw double coverage and we can throw to Percy Harvin. We just found out Harvin could have a serious ankle injury and you STILL cut Moss? WTF? we have no receivers! seriously, please fire Chilly. I’m not attending or won’t even buy a shirt to wear out of the embarrassment I get from that guy.

I agree with you SIYRAH..lmao at the fans here about Jackson, HE’s a fking joke.Favre got the ball down to the 5 yard line and get hurts. If Jackson couldnt throw 5 yards for a touchdown ..the Vikings have a real problem. The rest of the game the guy looked lost.
If thats who there QB will be after Favre retires there in trouble. They NEVER be on top in there division. Just keeping it to the Packers. They will appreciate AFTER he is gone. Thanks Brett for putting your heart soul in the games and for your team members..you never give up when the tough get going..
    YOUR AN IRON MAN..
