Packers Strike First, Vikings Strike Back

Posted by cjsiewert on October 24, 2010 – 7:12 pm

The Green Bay Packers put the 1st points of the game on the scoreboard with a 1-yard TD plunge from RB Brandon Jackson. The scoring drive lasted just 2:28 on 4 plays for 76 yards and was highlighted by a pair of long passing plays from QB Aaron Rodgers to Greg Jennings and James Jones for 24 and 45 yards, respectively.

The Vikings first 2 drives resulted in quick 3-and-outs, but the Purple flipped the field position after a 48-yard kick return by Percy Harvin following the Green Bay score – 7 plays later, Harvin found the endzone on a 17-yard TD run through the middle of the Packer defense.

At the end of the 1st quarter, the Packers and Vikings are knotted up at 7 with the Packers threatening to score at the MIN 11.

no excuse by the coaching staff not challenging the second gb td…gb able to challenge ours …i am starting to think we have unbelievable talent to be 2-3 with some of our coaches

Jared needs to try rushing to the inside shoulder more often. He is just getting pushed behind the QB every time he tries to run around the Tackle’s outside shoulder.

Why is Childress not smart enough to challenge or at least kick the PAT quicker,
no wonder we have our record, we get outcoached by any team better than the Cowboys.

^ Have a LB/CB blitzing to the outside to contain and force the Tackle to make a choice of who to block.

Childress is a deer lost in headlights and our corners are garbage !

these refs suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He had control of that ball

  21. By PurplePeopleEater on Oct 24, 2010 | Reply

I don’t understand the rules well enough apparantly, but I thought the same thing that the refs did on that challenge, the ball hit the ground before it was pulled in, and so no score. Either way, Childress’ SLOW(non) reaction time has cost us 11 points

  22. By TWVIKE on Oct 24, 2010 | Reply

Chilly thinks that red flag is for blowing his nose. Get the kicking on, that is a 4 point swing.

Where’s the INT grounding there? Throw the flag in both directions ref!

  27. By Dave on Oct 24, 2010 | Reply

These refs are acting like they are bought and paid for… Irritating!!!

  28. By Purplefan on Oct 24, 2010 | Reply

Vikes Coaches should pay more attention on the passing game of Rodger… it’s seem like he had trouble to throw on the left side….

  29. By Purplefan on Oct 24, 2010 | Reply

No sack, that’s ok………as long put more pressure……

  30. By Jerseyviking on Oct 24, 2010 | Reply

Chilly is such an ass! why not try to throw to Moss? Isn’t that what we got him for? you have timeouts use them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  31. By Purplefan on Oct 24, 2010 | Reply

Packs had trouble to defend some trick plays from Vikes… as multiple wide receiver with Percy…. then give more to them

  32. By gb on Oct 24, 2010 | Reply

Childress: you should feel lucky that you dont work for the Gophers,At least they get rid of the dead wood, you have no clue when it comes to time management, and you prove it every year

Seriously, when do the Vikings look for a coach that has a personality, that can get these guys to get the most of their talents! Bring in Chucky! Gruden and this team would rock! Or bring in a young coach that has the drive! I can’t believe they gave Chilly an extension last year. What is the reasoning behind that?

  34. By Jerseyviking on Oct 24, 2010 | Reply

Bevell sucks!!!! Just when they start moving the ball on the ground he goes to 2 pass plays.
