Thursday Injury Report

Posted by Mike Wobschall on October 21, 2010 – 2:29 pm

There are lots of changes to the Thursday injury reports, so let’s go over a few of them.

The not so great news is that the Vikings added 2 players to the Thursday injury report – T Ryan Cook (wrist) and WR Percy Harvin (hamstring) – and S Husain Abdullah (concussion) was held out for a second consecutive day. But the good news is TE Jim Kleinsasser (groin) and CB Lito Sheppard (hand) returned to practice and DE Brian Robison (ankle) went from limited on Wednesday to a full participant on Thursday.

Click here to see the full Vikings injury report.

The Packers added G/T Marshall Newhouse (back) to the report because he was held out of practice on Thursday and CB Charles Woodson (toe), who was limited on Wednesday, was also held out on Thursday. S Nick Collins (knee) and LB A.J. Hawk (knee) were limited on Thursday after being held out on Wednesday. T Chad Clifton (knee) and DE Cullen Jenkins (hand) both went from being limited on Wednesday to full participants on Thursday.

Got all that?

It will be interesting to see how Green Bay comes out injury-wise after tomorrow’s practice. Injuries have hampered the Packers all season long, with LB Nick Barnett, RB Ryan Grant and TE Jermichael Finley having already been placed on injured reserve. It looks like some key offensive and defensive linemen – Clifton, Jenkins, Pickett and Tauscher – will be playing, but it’s surprising to see that WR Donald Driver (quad) has been held out of practice both Wednesday and Thursday and that Woodson was held out on Thursday.

The NFL is a war of attrition and the Vikings and Packers are great illustrations of that as they prepare to renew their twice-annual rivalry this weekend.

If Favre isnt given time, no wide-out makes a difference.

everyone keeps saying wait til rice comes back. well we have the best reciever in the league back and we still have not performed like we should. te big problem is our o line. if our line keeps letting favre get sacked over and over. it does not matter who you have at reciever. with our line, you can have favre, moss, rice, andre johnson, TO, or anyone and it wouldnt make a difference. our line needs to block. and once they do that, we will be deadly. and dont think when rice gets back he will be back to his normal form. he will be rusty for a little bit. but give him time. lets go vikes

Rice won’t even be at practice for at least another 2 weeks. Chilly willy said he’s not even close

this is a must win sunday night. if we win sunday, we could actually drop the New England game and still be ok

fire childress- I believe every game is a must win for us right now. Mentally we need wins, loses simply bring us down. PUNISH THE PACK!!!!!

frazier for head coach! he has passion!

if the line is not blocking, why do we keep playing the lard as##es? get some people in the game with desire, and bench the ones who are not doing their job!! there is no accountability for these guys. they give up sacks and dont even seem to care. dont some teams make their lineman do pushups or fine them or something.? shud not be neccessary with professionals but these guys have lead feet and are not improving. tom, peyton, and breeze stand up all day and have time to throw. our QB does not get that luxery and we complain when he throws a pick. earn your paycheck linnneeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

look at our record against new England though. Bill B. is a hall of fame coach. Chilly is so bad he couldn’t even get a sniff in the hall of fame, he would get kicked out for visiting Canton he so bad

Rice nowhere near ready: Vikings coach Brad Childress says WR Sidney Rice (hip) is nowhere near ready to rejoin the team. Childress says Rice is continuing with his treatment and once the team decides he is ready to practice, they have three weeks to decide if he can play this season. Rice was eligible to come off the PUP list on Wednesday.

Man, are you ever a snapperhead “firechildress” What do you even know? Childress’ only mistake was bringing Favre back for a second year. Other than that, he has made great decisions. Just give it up with your constant whining and complaining about the Coach. Your useless comments are irritating at best. Try speaking with someone close to the organization and you will change your opinion of Coach Childress pretty quickly. Stop speaking about things you know nothing of.

It is alot of fun writing in this blog. I don’t think it would be as much fun if the Vikings didn’t have a winning tradition.

The coach gets too much credit when he wins, and too much blame when he loses. But I know alot of coaches that do not get credit even when their team wins year after year.

I get sensitive when people complain about the coach, probably because I have coached for many years.

What makes a good coach? Good players!

purple08, don’t go away mad, just go away-nobody on here likes you. your brain dead and know nothing about football. lets see-4th and 2-1st quarter in Miami game and Chilly says-GO FOR IT ! that cost us the game. seems like your good coach is sooooo good purple08. go bury your head in the sand

  20. By fire childress on Oct 22, 2010 | Reply

by the way, the players don’t think much of Chilly either, in fact, they still hold him accountable for 12 men in the huddle in the nfc championship game last year. it seems if the players don’t like the coach, then we need a new coach, purple08 -go take your meds

All these anti-favre fans will be eating their words once Favre starts getting better protection and the RBs start picking up blitzers like Chester Taylor did so well.

Favre is fine, FIRE CHILDRESS!!!!!!!!!! Brad is going to draft a punter this year. He knows how to fill the needs of the team. IDIOT!!!!!

Everyone just needs to take a look at the injury report because Harvins game status isn’t on there. I bet this is a mind game they are playing against GB to try to get a edge. Come game time I expect everyone to be ready to rock and roll. It will be another great, close game, which could put the Pack in third place in the division. Skroll on people in purple!!!

There’s a few of you on this site who openly express your opinions. Some relevant, some not even close. I ignore the insistent jabbering of most of the negative and focus on actual “productive” things, like rooting for the team as a whole, which some seem to have a problem with, but luckily most do not. GO VIKES!

haha you guys are not going to believe this! i was just on and some packer fan posted and i quote “green bay made favre”. HAHAHAHA thats the stupidest most idiotc statement i have ever heard. lol wow. i needed a good laugh. you have to be mentally ret@rded to think that. its more like the other way around pack fans. if favre didnt play for you all these years, you would have sucked

fmfan is an idiot. he forgot that favre carried this team last year. he forgot that this year our line is ranked one of the worst in league. he forgot that favre is ranked 2nd for being sacked the most. he forgot that touchdown when favre fumbled was from not blocking. i can go on. but it wont matter to him

That’s the best you can do FC? “Nobody on here likes you?” HaHa! Are you on here to make friends sweetie? You just continue to spew the same redundant garbage over and over day in and day out…it’s what you do.
