Submit Your Monday Morning Mailbag Questions

Posted by Mike Wobschall on October 17, 2010 – 8:48 am

By the time Monday morning rolls around, we’ll know the winner of this weekend’s Vikings-Cowboys game. But with another game in the books, we’ll also have a few more questions.

And that’s where the Monday Morning Mailbag comes in. So, if you have a comment/question, submit it/them to the vikings.com Monday Morning Mailbag by sending an email to me at wobschallm@vikings.nfl.net or by submitting it to the comments section below this entry. Remember to include your name and town with each email.

We can’t post every comment/question, but I’ll respond to every question.

With Favre’s health in question, what’s the chance we’ll see Tarvaris Jackson starting?

If we continue to be garbage what would be better losing the rest of the games so we can pick Andrew Luck or try to win the rest and possibly miss the playoffs.

with all due respect, why do have such poor execution of the fundamental aspects of football even though we have arguably the most talented team in the nfl.

With the problems that our backs have picking up the blitzes what is the chance that we try to get a 3rd down back to help with that issue as well as making sure we do not over work Adrian?

Lito Sheppard got beat for all 3 dallas tds so will Cris Cook take over the starting spot when he is able to play?

I never saw Favre go to his elbow once against the cowgirls so was there ever anything wrong with his elbow (just used it as an excuse)?

When is Sidney Rice able to come back? I think wilth him in there (if he’s 90% healthy) that we could have a better offensive push. Why wasnt the defense blitzing Romo? I didnt see even one blitz and the Vikings are really good at that.

The vikings have all the weapons that an offence could want!!!! The offensive line is terrible, what happened, they use to be the best in the N.F.L.– They couldnt open holes for Peterson(all individual effort) and they cant protect Farve at all!!!!!!! Maybe the offensive line coach should be replaced.

Will the Vikes put C.Cook in when healthy or keep Sheppard in? Sheppard allowed R.Williams to score on the same play two times. So can Sheppard even cover the slant?

WHY ARE WE SO AFRAID TO BLITZ?????? obviously we dont have the talent to play coverage. why not help out with a blitz package of at least 15 to 20 blitzes a game? why are we still carrying berrian? clear a roster spot!

Why do the Vikings consistently go to conservative play calling at the beginning of games and fall behind, only to jump out at the second half when they easily could have had the lead in the first place, had the play calling suited the situation? And why, against the Dolphins did we run on 4th down with Peterson to the RIGHT SIDE, when that is our weakest blocking side, which cost us the game. And what do we plan on doing with Tahi, who has had significant trouble with picking up pass rushers? Do we plan on signing another FB, since none of our RBs seem to have trouble as well? How will Cook fit into the defense when he comes back, especially after Lito Sheppard allowed all 3 TDs? And last but not least, how do we plan on improving the offensive-line? Are we going to utilize trading, wait until the draft or just try to work with the blockers we have? Because the last option doesn’t seem to be working out for us right now and the draft is too far away to help, especially since this year seems to be Super Bowl or bust. -Matt, Clifton, NJ

“Do we plan on signing another FB, since none of our RBs seem to have trouble as well?” I meant that our RBs DO seem to have trouble picking up pass rushers
