With those inactives, (specifically Gerhart and Tahi) it looks like we’re planning on a lot of passing and single-back formations today. I hope the elbow can hold up for it.

It is going to be a blowout: Vikings 44, Cowboys 17

Greenbay and Bears going down today…..could not ask for more of a perfect place than where we are today….lets get back into this thing in the North!

David, you and I haven’t agreed on much, but I hope you are right today! We need this bad!

Not only would a win be great and much needed……but a Blow-Out would put some swagger back in this team!!!!

Hope Cook shuts Roy Williams out. Jared should have some fun going against doug free. Likely free will get lots of help.

i was reading a article in the minneapolis tribune that said the Wilf family would have no problem with eating Chilly’s new contract if the Vikings fail to make the playoffs this year

  8. By PurplePeopleEater on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

As they should FC – we have too much talent on the team to be failing right now. Frasier is going to be a head coach somehwere, and I’d love for it to be here. If Chilly proves that the last 2 years were just the luck of an easy season moreso than his coaching ability then his contract NEEDS to be bought out. We still have talent for next year and if we draft right (currently 1 first round and 2 second round picks) we can still be contenders next year by filling the holes from the players that don’t re-sign and retirees.

I love being reminded of how poor sports Packer fans are. I’m watching their game right now and they’ve been booing the officials for 10+ minutes on a penalty that their player lined up in front of the center on a kick-off. This is a new rule this year, and it was BLATANTLY obvious that the player was directly in front of the center.

Keep up the class Green Bay.

  10. By fire childress on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

it also said the players (behind the scene, no players were willing to say their name) said they still hold Childress accountable for 12 men in the huddle, in the NFC championship game last year againt the saints

  11. By TWVIKE on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

Rogerthevike- Cook is inactive. Wonder if Joey Browner, Carl Lee,Paul Krause, or Robert Griffin are available?

  12. By PurplePeopleEater on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

Well I don’t know how substitutions are processed…but whoever was SUPPOSED to tell the 12th man he was being replaced deserves a lot of the blame (that may be Childress, but it makes more sense if the guy coming in makes sure the guy being replaced leaves the field).

  13. By PurplePeopleEater on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

TWVIKE – the blog has been changed since the initial posts. It’s title had something to do with the fact that Cook WOULD be active. Gerhart was listed as inactive initially, and now his name was replaced by Chris Cook.

It is pretty bad when you have to rely on the Dolphins & Seahawks to win, so we can gain some ground. Miami has just won in OT & the Seahawks have won. It is up to us now. Good luck

peterson fumbled the ball. he was looking up because Cooper missed the block again

  24. By PurplePeopleEater on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

Why do we keep on changing the starting center? I know that Cook isn’t that great, but is Cooper any better? Consistency is going to help the team out more than any marginal improvement that Cooper MAY provide….

  25. By PurplePeopleEater on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

Dallas D is going hard after the run…let’s get some play action pass.es in there to counter it….they could get us some big gains if the defense bites.

Now the defense had a good rest (okay, not many plays, but it has to feel good coming onto the field after a turnover &* touchdown) and they know what they need to do for the rest of the game. Time to execute!

  46. By PurplePeopleEater on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

What makes you think that the Chargers or ANY team wants either of them? BB can’t catch and BC can’t coach. Anyways we have Moss and hopefully Rice will be battling his way out of the injury soon enough to help us out when it matters.

  55. By fire childress on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

i think we will trade Mckinney away next year

  56. By PurplePeopleEater on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

Why don’t we get extra blockers over there to compensate for McKinnie? Send just 3 receivers, Favre likes to throw into double coverage anyways.

  57. By vikingsgod on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

Favre likes throwing into Quad coverage

  58. By rocksalt on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

personally i did not think allen was as good as his press clippings as he seemed to disapper vs tough teams…dallas o-line not great yet he cannot get close to romo when blocked…i think we will be eating his salary next few years as he looks like his playing level has dropped

  66. By PurplePeopleEater on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

Why did Chilly just look like a wife of a Vikings fan there? (Sitting back drinking her soda, trying to pretend she doesn’t hear the screaming at the field). He needs to be on top of his guys and getting them pumped up to win this thing!

  67. By fire childress on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

90 percent of giving up is bad coaching

yes they have not looked fired up all season

  74. By VikesFan26 on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

all our problems revolve around the O-line. Favre taking the beatings he has taken this season leads to bad throws and picks. Also doesn’t leave him anytime to find the open receiver. Moss, Camarillo, Harvin, Berrian(sometimes). with those receivers there is no reason that big plays can’t happen.

  75. By fire childress on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

it’s too bad, all that talent flushed down the shi tter. thanks chilly
