Vikings Put Up 1st Points After Pair Of Turnovers, Trail 14-7 After 3rd Quarter

Posted by Mike Wobschall on September 19, 2010 – 1:12 pm

The Vikings offense continues its struggles in the 2nd half with a fumble by QB Brett Favre in their own endzone that resulted in a Dolphins TD. LB Koa Misi recovered the fumble for Miami to increase its lead to 14-0.

After starting on its own 25-yard line, the Purple offense put together a nice drive highlighted by 20-yard connection from Favre to WR Bernard Berrian. But another scoring opportunity was scratched as Favre’s next pass to Berrian was intercepted by Dolphins CB Jason Allen.

The ensuing play, though, resulted in the ball turning over once again but in the Vikings favor this time. LB E.J. Henderson forced a fumble that was recovered by his brother, Erin, on the Miami 1-yard line. After an incomplete pass to TE Visante Shaincoe, RB Adrian Peterson banged through the Dolphins defensive front for the score.

It was enough for a TD to give us the win. The defense continues to play as if they want to go to the Superbowl. The Offense just needs to rally behind AP and show the same passion.

this team was ready at the end of last season to take a real shot at the sb. the decisions made by management on who to keep and let go have been terrible. worse is that they did not see that now was the time to take a full shot at the sb and bring in high end talent. coupled with poor play calling , no viable wr right now and childress this season is heading to be a disaster.. not too many other management group in the nfl that could hava messed up a team like these clowns,

no v-jack equals no post season. Has anyone seen all of the 6’3″ and taller receivers that were CUT by vikings management during the preseason??????

This is what we really need to talk and think about………do we………do we…….really want………..NOW…..to even go for Vincent Jackson! I say this for this simple reason……..do we think that this team is 1 wideout away from going to the playoffs? Not the SuperBowl…..the Playoffs!

I’m sorry……but I don’t think this team has it this year!
Brett will gone…Pat Williams will be gone….
    We have no secondary…..

Is he worth giving up Draft Picks at this time that we will need to rebuild next year!?

    The answer is no!

We are done this year……AND SAVE ME THE “IT’S EARLY S$%” TALK OR REPLY TO THIS COMMENT! WE NEED THE DRAFT PICKS! THAT’S IT AND THAT’S THAT!

Ed, V-Jack is a joke he could not lead a High School team to a title. Once the Vikings get rid off Tjack you will never seem him on a field anywhere in the NFL.
Joe webb should be put back as a Wr…28 looked great, the defensse looked great..Turnovers and penalities is what cost the vikings the game. Goal line play calling was terriable. At least Chilly recognized that BB cannnot catch punts..
Percy had a great game…Martin is correct management has made moves, or not made moves that makes me believe that they want our team to lose.

I agree with you London and others, . I have been blogging that Webb should have never been moved from wide receiver. My point is is that we don.t have any Legit TALL targets. It could be Webb, it could be a V-jack type , we don’t have Sidney and during preseason, we CUT all the receivers we had that were of that build except for 6’4′ Holmes who is on the practice squad. I dont understand this reliance on Berrian and Lewis, etc. Big receivers make big plays and help quarterbacks not have to force. Right now we dont have any.

  30. By ed on Sep 19, 2010 | Reply

London, R. Moss just made a one handed grab in the end zone that only someone his SIZE could make. Brady is not the reason . A receiver of that build is essential for any team hoping to have a good season. Ours decided to have hip surgery 2 weeks before season start, but that does not mean that the team could not have made some moves and found an adequate replacement or developed somene of that stature already on the roster instead of cutting all the TALL guys!!!

  31. By ed on Sep 19, 2010 | Reply

6’4″ Braylon Edwards just made a 2 point conversion only a TALL receiver could make!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Management please get us a go to guy of that height!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brett is 40 , and he can’t make it work with the short Amigo’s at this staage is his career. Activate Holmes off the practice squad, re- sign Walker, get v-Jack, anybody with some size!!! . Get someone with some height!!!!!!
    Do you understand London?????
