Vikings List 8 On Week’s Initial Injury Report

Posted by Mike Wobschall on September 15, 2010 – 2:26 pm

The Vikings have 8 players listed on this week’s initial injury report but none of them were held out of practice on Wednesday. The Miami Dolphins came out of Week 1 pretty healthy and have listed just 3 players on their report.

For the Vikings, the following players were listed as limited participants: CB Chris Cook (knee), CB Cedric Griffin (knee), WR Percy Harvin (hip), DT Jimmy Kennedy (knee) and LT Bryant McKinnie (fiinger) . QB Brett Favre (ankle/back), RB Toby Gerhart (knee) and C John Sullivan (calf) were full participants.

For the Dolphins, DE Ikaika Alama-Francis (illness), LB Channing Crowder (groin) and DE Jared Odrick (ankle) did not participate in practice.

It is a long season. Hopefully the Vikings will play well at home like last year. The Vikings were 9-0 at home, and 4-5 on the road (including the playoffs) last year.

Let’s not forget guys like Johnny Unitas, Kurt Warner, Cris Carter, Jim Marshall, and etc., that were rejected by their first team in the NFL. Bad things were said about these guys, and after a time, they wound up starring in the NFL.

You could add Brett Favre to that list, he was traded by the Falcons. The coach thought he was a horrible quarterback!

Have you ever experienced a large crowd cheering for you? I guarantee it makes you stronger. That’s one of the things that happens at home games.

Thanks Mike. Glad to see Mckinnie had full practice. When I saw him get carted off the field I assumed the worst. That would have sucked. Gerhart having full practice is great too.

Yeah Mckinnie got carted of the field for a finger injury, What a TERD !!

No kidding, if he would have sprained his ankle they might have just brought in a body bag.

Yeah about McKinnie though I saw the pictures and the surgery he had to have done and it was pretty brutal, he has them on his Twitter account. I can’t blame him for coming out as long as he’s back next week 100%.

How is McKinnie going to play? with a broken finger he’s going to have a hard time holding.

paul i disagree mckinnie has to be fast enough out of his stance to even get a hold of someone. the de’s usually just run around him

It sure looks like we need some type of receivers. The Vikes looked out of time last week when it came to passing or was it that the current group of of receivers are not fast enough. I dont have the answer for that since I am not coaching them.

rocksalt – Nope, had to be Harvin (or some other active receiver). With Sidney on the PUP list the rules state that he can’t even be a partial participant.
