Vikings List 7 On Initial Injury Report

Posted by Mike Wobschall on September 6, 2010 – 2:34 pm

The Vikings have issued their 1st injury report of the 2010 season and 7 names appear on the list. NFL teams are required to submit an injury report on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before a Sunday game, so of course the Vikings and Saints injury report schedule is a bit different that it will be for most of the regular season.

Anyway, here’s a rundown of the Vikings and Saints injury reports.

A pair of Vikings defenders did not participate in practice today – CB Chris Cook (knee) and DT Jimmy Kennedy (knee). A quartet of Vikings were limited participants – RB Toby Gerhart (knee), CB Cedric Griffin (knee), S Jamarca Sanford (ankle) and C John Sullivan (ankle). QB Brett Favre (ankle) was a full participant.

The Saints listed 8 on their injury report. RB Chris Ivory (knee) and LB Stanley Arnoux (ankle) did not participate. LB Jonathan Vilma (groin), T Zach Stief (knee) and CB Tracy Porter (knee) were limited. S Pierson Prioleau (knee), TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) and WR Marques Colston (kidney) were full participants.

So as limited participants, aren’t players more likely than not to play on game day? It would be great to have Griffin and Sullivan on the field come Thursday, so long as it’s not at the expense of re-aggravating the injuries.

Having Sullivan back is a possibility, but Griffin is definitely out for the opener.

Regardless, we will win against the Saints on thursday.

Any ideas what will happen with the corner back situation? Are they just gonna stick with 3 cb’s for the next few weeks? Seems a little risky…

to be honest im very nervous about this game. last year i would have said no. but we have so many injuries. its weird because i was born and raised a packer fan and grew up watching brett favre. now im a vikings fan. i became one after favre came here. and when he retires I will remain a viking fan. I love how the fans welcomed brett with open arms. i have to say i was impressed. i was disgusted with my packer fans how they treated him. he’s a freakin legend. anyway, we need to protect favre so he can do his job. and that interception against the seahawks to berrian wasn’t his fault. berrian can’t catch. he never really could. but we need to keep that o line healthy so they can protect favre. and for our defense…..lets return the favor on Brees this thursday. show him what the madden curse is all about

The highlight of the Saints evening is going to be hoisting that Super Bowl Championship flag in the Superdome. The Vikings will stand and watch that being done and then it’s gonna be on from there on out. I know the Vikings aren’t 100% but the Saints aren’t either. Best execution wins this game and I’m still convinced the Vikings are the better overall team. This game will set market share records and should be outstanding to watch. Brees needs to be moving his feet all night long being pressured with no time for check downs. This is the key to victory. The Saints can’t run the ball consistently on our defense.

The answer to this game is ADRIAN! 34-31 Vikings win this time. after that, other teams wont respect the Saints, as they become one-hit-wonder.

No injury excuses. Let’s playball. May the better team win. Of course that is the Vikings!

Very nice LuckyJ. The ONLY reason the aints won is because they had the refs in their back pocket. “Let’s let the SISSIES win this one so they STOP WHINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”. Get a life world chump. You’re gonna need one when your team goes to s**t this season.

soldier1986…I am just like you…I was born a Packer fan but am a Brett Favre fan for life. The packer fans disgusted me when they booed Brett. They were a lousy team for 25 years until Brett showed up. He made the team great again. Brett introduced me to the Vikings team and I am so glad! Last year was my favorite year! It was so much fun to watch! And I have great respect for the whole Vikings team! They are a great bunch of guys! I just hope they protect Brett and beat the Saints. The Vikings were the better team last year and are the better team this year! Win Vikings! I know a lot of ex Packer fans that are now Vikings fans!

I agree with everything that DON H says all those cheap shots on Favre in overtime the 1st down that they did not get the interference call that wasnt and the catch that was not made. If tom Brady was the QB in that game the, some of those players would have been ejected out of the game

DJlucky1 That is why we should not have traded Bennie Sapp. You can never have enough corners nor rb. I like the sure handed Camirillo, but I like insurances better.

pss- That last game would not have even been close without the b.s. interference call that gave you losers a free TD.. Fumble-aholics!

Hey World Chumpions, the Vikings will put a big time beat down on you chumps and show that your team is a fluke last year. No more sympathy for your football team because what has happen to that region. We mean business and now now it time for your team to to pay and aint’s fans don’t forget your brown paper bags, you will be wearing them by halftime not to mention this is a nationally televised game. Show some compassion for the viewing audience and wear them all game long so the nation doesn’t have to look at the most” BUTT UGLY” fans in the NFL the Ain’ts fans!

The paper bags that Saint’s fans of yesteryear wore on their heads, are the bags that anyone in N.O.with integrity, should be barfing in shame into. Any medium talent thug given the green light by Gregg Williams to take cheap shots…can take out a talented/legendary QB. If this were sanctioned by every team in the NFL,Cutler would be 2010 MVP.

My thanks to the Saints for creating an abortion of arena football/WWF to the NFL.Sean Payton is the Don King of the HFL-Gregg Williams bites off ears when faced with superior talent.
