Posted by Mike Wobschall on August 28, 2010 – 12:10 pm

Tonight’s preseason game moves us 1 step closer to the regular season, which is set to begin for the Vikings on Thursday, September 9 in New Orleans. But there are still questions to be answered and Monday mornings are the time to get that done.

So, if you have a comment/question, submit it/them to the vikings.com Monday Morning Mailbag by sending an email to me at wobschallm@vikings.nfl.net or by submitting it to the comments section below this entry. Remember to include your name and town with each email.

We can’t post every comment/question, but I’ll respond to every question.

Concering the roster for the season, do you think the Vikings are going to keep Lloyd as a kickoff specialist, or do you think the roster spot is becoming too important, espcially with the injuries to the receiving corps?

Also, how do you think the QB sitation is going to play out? Do you think Sage or Jackson is on the block or do you think Webb either makes special teams or the practice squad? (Also, what type of waivers does a QB need to go through to hit the practice squad?)

Minnesota Vikings fans here in Washington..no we will never convert to Seahawk fans, because we are BIG Minnesota fans, nothing can change that. Poor sportsmanship at the beginning of the game on Seahawks part knockin our guy after the play with the MN fans booing. The two commentators for the Seahawks out here stink. They sound so stupid listen to them. Go Minnesota Vikings..we love you all

The recent additions of Walker and Camarillo brought a lot of depth to the receiving corp. When Rice returns to the lineup there will most likely be one or two very good receivers not getting much playing time. The Vikings also have some solid competition for the backup position to Favre. In my opinion, Rosenfels has looked like the best #2 guy. Do you think there is any chance the Vikings will put Jackson on the trading block and keep Webb as the #3 QB?

I don’t agree WAVikingsFan- the receiving core lacks a true number one threat. We need much more talent to keep up with our tough first half of the season opponents. What are the chances of the Minnesota Vikings trading to get wr Victor Cruz from New York? I don’t think he would cost nearly as much as Greg, and I think it would be well worth the risk.
ps-the vikings should pick up Victor Cruz

Why aren’t the Vikings talking about trading TJ instead of Sage? Sage is clearly a better #2 guy. TJ struggles at best.

Both Herrera and Cooper played center last night and both names have been mentioned in some of the articles and blogs. I noticed that Ryan Cook also played the position in the fourth qtr. In his bio it says he played the position three years in college. Are the Vikings down on him or is there a chance that Cooper or Ryan could be cut?

Some questions have addressed this already but I think the quarterback sitution really needs to be evaluated. Based on Pre-season play, I see Sage as the obvious #2 and …Webb at #3!! Three games in and T. Jack has yet to show an ability to move the ball or show good command of the offense. Are the Vikings noticing this as well and have they been shopping around Jackson? I think getting rid of Sage would be a huge mistake.

Lets bring Randy home! #4 to #84= many TDs. We need DB HELP NOW! Doesnt Chilly realize we play Brees,Brady,Rogers(twice),Romo,Eli,Cutler(twice),etc. He didnt even try to up grade our secondary. If we could be average back there, are Defense would be elite!

With the recent trade talk f San Diego’s star WR Vincent Jackson do you think the Vikings will go for him? I mean Camarillo is good but jackson is great it would be awesome having him play alongside Harvin and Berrian dont you think?

Rich- We might as well wait for Sydney , I believe Jackson is facing suspension of up to 6 games.

Do you see the Vikings going after Antonio Bryant? the Bengals have just released him and i think he could bring alott to this team IF his knee is OK, and do you see Chris Cook geting the starter job come September 9th agaist the Saints?

    Kyle-
Bryant got cut because he is injured. He is going to be paid 8 million dollars…if he was going to be healthy anytime soon I doubt the Bengals woould have contributed to his personal charity…lol
I do agree with you though…we have no gamebreaker to speak of whatsoever…

I know the talk is about T jackson and Sage on who is making the team, etc. I guess right now in the preseason Sage has been looking more comfortable in the pocket seems to be reading the defenses and overall a better performance that Jackson is. Is that because he is primarily going up against mainly the 2nd stringers on D. And if so, wouldn’t you like to see what he can do against the 1st stringers?
