I don’t see any improvement with the o-line how is favre going to make it through the full season with this horrid oline.

Peterson looked good in the first half. TJack didn’t look real comfortable standing in the pocket. The Oline needs help.

The OLine was horrendous. Hard to say how good any QB really appeared when they had to get rid of the ball the second they got a hold of it or else take the sack half a second later. The line needs to pull it together and fast or else the Saints (and every other defense from then on) will murder whoever is forced to step in at QB.

you guys are ridiculous. the o-line led us to 13 total wins last year, they’re fine. you guys just take anything you hear in the media and run with it. calm down, they’re fine. it’s just the preseason and besides…. we didn’t even have all 5 starters there tonight. “THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING!!!” you guys are ridiculous.

Who do you think you’re fooling? The o-line is terrible. If I were Brett, I’d retire for good. He can’t scramble, Jackson can!! He’s our only hope. This is not last years team!!

At least Joe Webb made the game entertaining at the end. I like the promise he brings to the future….maybe even for this year in a trick/wildcat play. We definitely need to keep him on the roster, but it looks like a toss up right now as for which QB to drop so we can keep him on board.

Joe Webb! is our future i cant wait till we win the superbowl this year cut sage and put joe webb in wildcat this year mix it up! he is very impressive even better then $50 million dollar bradford and tebow!

What have these guys been doing in training camp what a poor game besides the joe webb td. Even if it was the 2nd and 3rd string starters atleast play better than that very disappointed only preseason but very sloppy game.

the o line has to play better..many people forget second half of the season there were qb protection issues and we had some bad games where AP struggled to gain yards…the schedule this year is horrific easily the season can go south fast..if no rice amd harvin and poor o line play we could be 10-6 9-7…when presuured the o line has issues

  13. By martin on Aug 22, 2010 | Reply

second half of the season the running game really struggled and the o line was overmatched in many games…

One thing that bugged me was why Cook was advertised as competing with Winfield for the #1 CB spot. Most people would say that he doesn’t have a chance over there, but it looks like he could perform really well in the #2 slot. Does the way you play the position change that much when you move over to the other side of the field? With Griffin on the PUP list we need to get as good of a player as we can to replace him, so the more competition the better.

Gerhart and young look non existent whats up with the running game nice coaching it will be a long season if they keep this up I’m not saying I’m pushing the panic button but being a vikings fan for so long this is a bad sign.

the O line looked very bad out there tonight. Bryant Mckinnie was getting owned when he played. If this keeps up, I dont see favre lasting the season

the line has to really get there butts in gear if the vikes are going to have a chance at a super bowl.

On the brighter note webb has potentials but that safety he gave was an idiotic move should of thrown the ball away, can sure scramble.

Agree with Mike Hunt (love that name) two more weeks to get ready everybody needs to take a deep breath and relax… Need to trade Sage and get some value for him, or move Webb to another position (KR or PR) or even back to WR until we know more on Percy & Sidney

Take a deep breathe and relax has always been a mantra in minnesota nobody ever panics until the post season when we get eliminated.

Another offensive weapon in Web. Can’t wait to see the Vikings destroy NO on opening day!

I was pretty impressed with Webb’s performace tonight, despite other gaps in our team’s effort. But as the saying goes, sometimes a Loss gives you more to learn from than a Win. Let’s get some focus Vikings.

The second and third team offense was just pathetic tj and sage were awful no rhythm such a sloppy game bunch of penalties on special teams. This wasn’t the same team last week yeah forgot this team is inconsistent. I wish I can just fire chilly he doesn’t know how to get this team prepared. The first team defense gave up big plays alex smith had all day to sleep for 8 hours and wake up without getting swiped. AP is holding on to the ball that is about the only good thing.

  26. By purple08 on Aug 23, 2010 | Reply

Don’t forget the 49ers had us beat last season if it were not for that totally flukey last second play by Lewis. Alex Smith looked good…Favre stinks! He won’t last 6 weeks. T-Jack will lead this team to the playoffs.

  27. By lefty on Aug 23, 2010 | Reply

The Oline is a mess, just look at how many people pointed that out. Now Mckinney moves like turtle. He needs to get better soon. AP will be awesome. Favre needed the hit to get his feet wet. Webb looks good but keep him at QB #3.Chris Cook will be the rookie of the year. We are fine nobody wanted to get hurt in the preseason game.

we should have re-signed Gus Frerrotte last year and not acquired sage

  30. By russell on Aug 23, 2010 | Reply

purple08- your a fool if you think Tjack the a**crack will ever amount to anything. i respect him only because he is a Viking and wears purple. but honestly he sucks. The only reason people are confused about his skill is because we got to the playoffs in ’08, but if you forgot, it was all thanks to Gus Frerotte. dont be a fool

russell, I agree the Vikes have had trouble replacing Birk… and Sharper and Taylor and A Hicks. Boy, I think Chris Clark really had problems at OT last night.

  32. By Carl K on Aug 23, 2010 | Reply

The Vikings need to find a way to get Webb in the game ! He is a big time weapon we could use when Harvin and Rice are hurting. I think he has a future at QB, but we need him now at WR!!!

I agree Carl K, I thought last week that Webb would be a good option at # 3 QB but after last night and listening to Brett in the press afterwards I think they should get him on the feild. With where they drafted him they should experiment some. I wonder if you only kept two QBs Brett and Sage, let T-Jack go, if you could have Webb as a WR, and the emergency # 3 QB. If Webb is just the # 3 QB he’ll never see the feild. Just a thought!!

is it really hard for Vikings Management to get another 6’6″ 330 lbs offensive center or right offensive guard to protect Bret Favre and/or create holes for AP, AY, TG and company? To beat the Vikes, opposing forces will find a way to go after Bret Favre relentlessly? How many games does management think that Bret can play. Do you think he will be healthy come playoff time or will he be watching the game(s)?

  36. By Vikes69 on Aug 23, 2010 | Reply

The defensive/offensive lines both looked terrible Sunday. I agree why can’t Cook play opposite Winfield.

  37. By a johnson fan on Aug 23, 2010 | Reply

well, if the running game is not up to par using whomever “they” think is the best, maybe if ian got some real playing time he will more than likely prove to be that missing link in the running game; seeing how the “big bucks are proving to be a bust!
