Alright, lets get the ball rolling and play for the number 1 seed, remember every game matters. Time to let Tjoke go, Sage makes a good backup and Webb is a good QB project with a lot of potential.

LOL, They were show casing sage that whole ram game! They are selling sage to trade him! The Q’s will be Favre, T-Jack and web!

So glad to see No. 4 back. Can’t wait.

And that’s too bad. Sage would be the better backup IMO.

I don’t care how many people think I am crazy, but when I heard the news about Bret coming back, I was happy. When I actually SAW the news and SAW him at Winter Park, I cried…. Yes cried, just like a baby… Happy Tears. Not as long as I cried when Anderson missed that famous Field Goal, but I cried Bret Favre Happy Tears. I have always loved this man’s talent, even when he was with Green Bay. I am so happy he is back with us again this year and maybe this time, he can retire as another Super Bowl Champion!!!! I sure do hope so, the Vikings fans need a Super Bowl and I truly Believe Bret is the man that can do it….

I could not be happier to see favre in minnesota, i just hope the o line can protect him in the season opener. The vikes are bound for the superbowl for sure!!!

This is in reply to Donna’s post….If you are such a big fan…you should probably learn how to spell his name correctly! BRETT…

LOL @ the ppl saying Sage would be a better backup. Yes, I want a guy who makes dumb football mistakes like jumping in the air and fumbling, and someone who throws more ints then TDs carreer wise, and the Qb with the worse QB rating to backup Favre, rather then a QB who ill b our QB next year who has progressed every year, and every year learned new things, and is now working out with Jerry Rice, Cris Carter, and Larry Fitzgerald. Let it go with the whole sage over taravaris thing, if that was the case there would be COMPETITION going on if favre wasnt coming back, which we now know he is. But Tjack had the job since day one, they just say its a battle to make sage feel better.

It’s thrilling to have Favre back. Meanwhile, stop trashing Jackson. Was he disappointing in 08 season? Heck yeah! I bit my nails to the quick almost every game. Is it possible that he’s improved? Sure. I’d have to see a lot more of him than the few downs he played last Sat. But give him the benefit of the doubt as the backup, until he proves otherwise. Rosenfels looked fine Sat, but he *was* up against the 2nd team of the 1-15 Rams! He can’t be a long term solution. I just think it’s unfair to keep beating up on TJack for his past sins…

    Meanwhile, Favre’s back!! :-)

ANTHONY, LOL, unless you were serious, then it’s disturbing. Jack is no NFL QB. The sooner he’s gone, the sooner we can get a good young QB.

  14. By Sharon on Aug 18, 2010 | Reply

OH! You fools! He will choke again, just like he always does. You keep taking Packer cast off”s eventually, you may, I repeat, may, win a superbowl. Good luck with that!!!!!!!

I hope they keep sage and Webb, trade or cut Tjack he has had his shot and just missed way right or left or short. point is he misses too much of what is needed to be a QB in the NFL. i also thought they should have traded Peterson to SD for their back and DB cromartie. + picks. He will make some good runs but cough it up as a loss 6 or more time, and probably another 5-6 fumbles that will be recovered for a loss to MN.

I believe that we should get rid of TJack and probably keep Sage as the backup to Favre. TJack , I hate to say it, but sucks. Sage I believed proved that he can do it and most likely Sage probably learned more from Favre and TJack.

    Thank god Brett is back

  18. By Brad on Aug 18, 2010 | Reply

Also I honestly think, even though it might sound crazy but, they should keep Favre out of the N.O game and keep him fresh for the whole season. You know as we all do they are going to try to break him every chance they get no matter the consequences. Look at last season?

I let out a huge WOO-HOO last night when I read on FaceBook that Brett was returning… I am truly ecstatic over this news…

As for the backup QB, any and all of those mentioned are excellent candidates. And TJ had to have learned something just from observing and picking the brain of the best QB there ever was last year.

What concerns me MORE for the upcoming season is AP’s ability to consistently and reliably hold on to the ball as he is running in traffic… let’s face it, for as outstanding as AP is, I hope he worked long and hard during the off-season on his ball carrying techniqes… if he can improve on this – even slightly – over last year’s performance, we will be unstoppable!

    Skōl Vikings!

mnsoldier you are a idiiot yeah lets trade away the best running back in the leauge for cromatosse! and some draft picks you know nothing about football and probably even less about your job

  22. By pounder28 on Aug 18, 2010 | Reply

sage is gone before start of season that much is obvious and i dont expect favre to have the kind of year he had last year but he gives us the best chance at a super bowl run i do believe jackson has progressed and we will find out at some point this year

Now that Brett is here, the rest of the team need to wake up from their fake injuries. But i hope Percy gets better this year. i hate to say it but it is make or break it kind of year for Harvin. AP will put a lid of the fumbling issues and run over 2000. Who knows we might have back to back Superbowls

This is hilarious. Viking Fans talking smack to the Pack. 13 World Titles to ZERO. Say what you will but Vegas has the Pack firmly installed as a favorite over the Vikings. Vike Fans, take it from a guy who’s been there and seen that… Last year was the honeymoon, and Favre played great. He knew he had to protect the football to win you all over. This year will be all about Brett. This year he doubles his interception total, fights Chilly for play calling duties, creates a mess in the press (as usual) and loses to both the Pack & Bears. Trust me. It’s a done deal. Vegas is all about CASH & they know Brett & Vikings time has passed. You should be ashamed of sellling your allegiances to a 17-year sworn enemy. I’m not surprised because desperate fans do stupid stuff. When Favre doesn’t win you the title, will you all still love him? Doubt it. Classic example of a Rent-A-Donkey. You all are soulless clowns. No wonder you voted Jessie the Body to be your Governor. You people stand for absolutely and utterly nothing. They should cut your chicken-scratch state out of the Union and give it to Canada. Meantime, The GB Packers are gonna give your little whiny, soulless backsides the belt. Get ready you snot-nosed, whiny, title-less, soulless weak sticks. We gonna do you with the buckle too!!!!

  35. By LifelongPackerBacker on Aug 18, 2010 | Reply

Just as I thought. You weiner-eating, soulless, title-less clowns have no response. Facts are facts. The belt (and buckle) awaits you at Lambeau…

Wow, lifelongpackerbacker….sounds like you have some SERIOUS issues. Honestly, who walks into his neighbors house and starts defecating over everything? Why don’t you try that in a real-life situation and see what good it does for you.

But in the mean time, come on down to Rochester for a few days, I’m confident that we have doctor’s over here that can help you figure out what is wrong up there.

  37. By Elgar on Aug 18, 2010 | Reply

Packer fans may not have noticed, but they announced today that yesterday is over. What has the Pack done lately? Had themselves beaten by the Browns at Lambeau. Such nice work, people. Hope nobody gets hurt, because it appears your backups will drive you to drink..

Ahhh the never ending cycle of second guessing and back seat coaching by the future NFL coach… I mean fans …
    1. Stop pretending like T-Jack is a horrible QB because he’s not. Is he elite? Most likely not. But we haven’t seen him in the fire for a season now and he looks decent in camp.
    2. 1 performance does not signify the second coming of Sage. He had a good game against the Rams second team. PLEASE. Is their improvement? Sure. Is there a possiblity he’s better than T-Jack? I’ll give you that, but for the love @!%# STOP BASING YOUR ENTIRE OPIONION / ARGUEMENT ON 1 PRESEASON APPEARANCE. 30 MIN OF TIME AGAINST THE RAMS DOESN’T EQAUL $%!&. SO Relax….. save the “Expert advice” until at least then end of the preseason.

I’m not a knowable football person…but…even I could see the uncalled for asaults on our QB last year. It looked like they were deliberately trying to “take him out”. Can’t there be better protection for him? He is a great QB…let’s protect him and win the SuperBowl.
